Hey Sup Forums, what DNS servers should I be using? Which are the best?
192.168.0.1
8.8.8.8 & 4.4.8.8
127.0.0.1
your Pi-hole dns server
Was google's DNS server fucking up for you too
never again
fuck google
Not OP, but I was having problems with cuckgle's DNS servers too
Its 8.8.4.4 retard
the best for your privacy is the default ISPs, because they log all your connections anyway.
Looking for a "better" one doesn't really matter, and brings basically zero performance improvements, because after the initial domain lookup everything is cached anyway.
8.8.8.8 is very useful for setting up and testing infrastructure.
1.4.8.8
What if I'm using a VPN? I guess maybe the VPN provider will have a DNS server to use?
hihi, he said pee-hole.
I want to block youtube ads with it ;_;
Use
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
for debugging
And
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
as a fallback if dnscrypt resolvers fail
Find yourself some on OpenNIC
servers.opennicproject.org
my networking knowledge is too rudimentary to answer that. all i know is that VPN alters the routing tables, and doesn't necessarily route all IPs through the VPN. Changing DNS server may possibly hide traffic from your ISP in this case.
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2
4.2.2.3
4.2.2.4
4.2.2.5
4.2.2.6

Your own unbound server that polls the root servers.
>opendns
Are you fucking retarded?
Oke
>not using opendns
Enjoy getting your traffic MITM'd by Google's throbbing cock, faggot
your own opennic server
your own opennic server
Enjoy getting your traffic MITM'd by Cisco, arseweed.
>install unbound
>have your own recursive DNS resolver
>use it on your network
This is a list of DNS resolvers provided by dnscrypt/proxy. Better and botnet free (most of them) github.com
Yeah but your local DNS server still has to perform recursive lookups (i.e. it has get the answers from somewhere upstream)
I believe OP is asking about upstream providers, since your local DNS can't function without them.
You should be banned. Fag.
dns.watch
Come be truly free of the google and openDNS botnet anons
10.0.0.30 & 10.0.0.31 works pretty good for me
Dns Benchmarks

Course IRL I just 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 like everyone else
Pi-hole just uses the DNS provider you pick when you install the script
kek not a single one has 99.99% uptime
enjoy not browsing the internet nerd
