constant social stratification of labor throughout history and very young, quickly reproducing population. very strong middle class purchasing power though

Designated ritual street

Cool meme but it has been 69 years since the bongs pulled out. China was poorer after the Cultural Revolution in the mid 70s, yet today it has a GDP/capita 4x that of India.

Because democracy is not actually very good for developing a country, unfortunately.

India has more US$ millionaires that the entire EU

Yep, because China has maintained completely different approach to its economic policies, plus to this very day, something about 2/3 of the population of the South Asia region works in agriculture and fields related to it, so economy of those countries has different orientation, even though India is modernising its economy with a big push for IT for example.

It's hard to build a country with democracy.

India will never get rich simply because of automation.

Look up India premature deindustrialization

They need to stop shitting on the open and drinking from that goddamn fucking river.

That would help a lot.

Not implying India will get rich because of that, they are still an agriculture-based economy after all, only pointing out that there is a potential and shit may not be as bad as it seems.

India will need a mass exodus of its diaspora to ever stand a chance against America's and China's IT industry. AI is automating entire verticals of the industry at an accelerating pace, and India currently has neither the talent nor the funding (public and private) to compete. And this isn't going to improve as long as Indians continue to use Facebook and WhatsApp on their Xiaomi phones while working for companies that use Microsoft Azure for IT infrastructure.

Of course the situation there isn't comparable to the US or China where everything is like 20x better.

I generally think what you wrote is true, but I feel like that in contrary to the rest of the developing world, India might not stand that bad.

eternal anglo stagnated the economy for 200 years

>facts are Chinese

India worked really hard to keep itself poor and strangled by bureaucracy from independence until the early 90's due to some retarded socialist beliefs. Pakistan is just a corrupt army with a country and will always be a shithole.

Why are states in India like Punjab and Kerala rich while states like Uttar Pradesh utter shit?

Because our wealth is their poverty :^)

youhavent visited india if you dont:

bathe in ganges
drink the ganges
get a violent diarrhea
shit in a designated street

Because under United kingdom

Pajeets need an authoritarian dictatorship to function properly, just like Africans and Arabs. They don't work right when you give them freedom.

>rich

maybe comparatively to the rest of india but it's still a poor shithole

Because they took a different development model.
Read the kerala model.
The millennium development goal takes inspiration from it but suspiciously omitted land reforms which are a big part of development.

Kerala HDI is pretty good.

Not really at all since there are countries that have democracy and well ruled in that group.

Ganges River Basin is the most fertile region in the entire world. But, since it is not navigable by merchant ships, it only makes India overpopulated instead of wealthy.

India is so overpopulated, that hundreds of millions of people live in a polluted hell, without being responsible for it. Things that we consider as granted, such as breathable air and drinkable water, do not exist in India. In the face of that, Indians have the strength to continue living.

No communism or strong authoritarian regime that violently unified the people, stopped public defecation once and for all and built the basic infrastructure that brings people basic civilizational standards.

>rich

Kerala per capita is poorer than Nigeria per capita.

>Not really at all since there are countries that have democracy and well ruled in that group.

Such as?

>Things that we consider as granted
>drinkable water
>Bulgaria
>drinkable water

Keralas HDI is 0.79.
Nigeria is 0.52.

Pretty huge differance

I can safely drink the water from most mountain streams over here, nigger. The entire Balkans region is a sanctuary of nature and wildlife. What do you mean?

GDP per capita doesn't account for life expectancy and overall life quality.
You can throw in HDI or GNI co-effecient comparisons for a more comprehensive comparison.

Nigeria is rich off of gas, but it's still incredibly corrupt and most wealth has been squandered by its officials into Swiss bank accounts.

Tunisia is democratic as well as Botswana, Cabo Verde like, Ghana and Benin. Zambia, Malawi and Burkina Faso had protests when the pres tried to extend his term and successful elections. Nigeria had a successful election with the opposition won.

There's also Kuwait, Lebanon and Morrocco.

All of them are "democracies" aka. Corrupt oligarchies based on a culture of tribalism and other undemocratic means.

HDI is easily skewed by certain factors with little relevance.

Kerala is literally a meme. Indians such as me know this.

Lagos is way better than Kerala.

Nigeria is doing a pretty big hunt for corruption. One big case was arresting the guy who took the money for the military's weapons budget. This shit takes time though because getting the money from bank accounts world wide (the Swiss are known for this shit but in truth other tax havens are much more problematic then they are and the owners of these tax havens like to hypocritically shit on Switzerland despite having a bigger hand in it)

None of those were democracies 30 years ago.

>Morocco

>Lebanon
Literally a shithole one step from civil war

>Botswana
Singaporean "democracy"
>Nigeria
>opposition won
Uh no. Bukari is not opposition. He represents the same oil shills as before with a muslim tilt.
>Tunisia
Only since 2011 and they elected islamists until 2014. Even now it's pumping out half of ISIS.

>dumping on Botswana

you came to the wrong neighborhood motherfucker

>Nigeria is doing a pretty big hunt for corruption

AKA political crackdown.
And it's also in recession.

I wonder if the two happenings correlate...

OK, let's be serious for a minute.
Is this "shitting on the streets" a meme? I can't believe it.

Matthew 19:24
…23Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 2

The problem of many so-called "democracies" in developing countries is the lack of institutions. Elections are a meme. What you want is institution that work 365 days per year. Without solid institutions and sense of belonging they are build on the sand. Democracies in Africa have this problem. They are states, not nations, and the state often vanishes once you leave the capital.

LOLED

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy_Index

1 African state with dull democracy and quite a few with flawed

Botswana is in heavy recession, is full of Aids, and is on IMF bailout.

It literally is only better than other African countries because it has low population density and CHINA.

And institutions take time to develop and that's if they aren't being undermined by external or internal forces.

The majority of India (600 million) shit in the streets.

Land resources of any worth were put to better use

That HDI is still lower than mississipi. That should be the borderline for whether or not a place is a shithole

What the fuck
Do they at least go behind bushes and trees?

No

India is often compared to Europe in terms of diversity and infighting. Similar history, but more fluid (based on the river system) due the lower presence of geographical barriers (mountains/peninsulas/etc) separating the different territories. I say that the Indian army is the only real national institution.

They at least have designated shitting streets.

>pretty big hunt for corruption
yeah I've read articles about that, but it has been said that Nigeria's president is just crushing down his opposition and predecessor's allies as a means to fight corruption. Same thing Xi Jinping is doing in China right now, though he's more effective.

The problem is, the vast majority of Nigerians aren't reaping the wealth of their lucrative oil exports, especially when you have guerrilla groups in the southern Nigerian delta sprouting up and destroying pipelines and killing off production.

The only upside I see in Africa is that India in some of its areas has worse rates of malnutrition and starvation than in Africa of all places.

The Indian Army is a total shitshow.
m.timesofindia.com/india/India-faces-severe-ammunition-shortage-can-fight-war-for-only-20-days-CAG/articleshow/47209011.cms
So you might be correct.

they worship idols and G-d is punishing them, very simple-

No, the defining Indian institution is tolerance. If we had the kind of traffic and population density they have, everyone in Bulgaria would get out of their cars and off their motorbikes, and start killing each-other. And they have all kinds of religions there, driving down the street (or rather being driven, Westerners cannot drive in India) you see Hindu, Christian, and Muslim temples all over the place.

>say that the Indian army is the only real national institution.
that pretty much sums up Pakistan too.
Yet on the other hand, at least India has an effective parliament (Lok Sabha), and a Supreme Court that recently overcame the government and ordered diesel rationing to spur down air pollution, both relics of British colonization.

And unlike Pakistan, India's government doesn't have its fingers in fringe extremist groups. They've been fighting Al-Qaeda long before America stepped in.

Their neighbours worship your god yet are in a worse condition.
Allah is quite the ebin ruseman :^)

>tolerance
>current president of India willingly let Hindus slaughter 4,500 muslims in the streets

>Supreme Court that recently overcame the government and ordered diesel rationing

"John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"

Andrew Jackson

That number is in the high range of HDI and includes many nation you wouldnt call shit.

Is Croatia bad to you?

I have this chick on my Indian team who looks African and has a Jewish name and surname. India is totally whack when it comes to religions. And I think that Christians are mostly dalits.

Underrated

>HDI

HDI for specific regions of a country is shit.

I still rely upon median PPP wealth as the best indication of living standards.

They are subhuman like China or Japan
Nothing can save it

>M-MUH PAKISTAN

Christians are mostly outside the caste system I think.

Pretty shit single HDI takes measures of good living into account.

Also name any place or institution that uses your standard.

No work ethic and no motivation for societal improvement.

>Mexico calling another nation subhuman

You were joking right?
