Does this count, OP? It's rather recent, but I think it has very traditional style and captures the richer, more cultured side of Portugal music really well, as opposed to countryside songs. Coimbra, specifically.

Probably the most interesting type of music we made, melody/harmony speaking.

Dulce Pontes is alright, and so are those examples, but those are such desperate-sounding songs. I prefer our reactionary work, even though I don't much agree with who writes it, it seems to have a fighting spirit that I respect a lot.

Not him but Rocky Road to Dublin is relatively old, and all of those songs are in a traditional folk style even if some are only a few decades old.

The idea that Western Canada doesn't have its own culture is fucking stupid, though. There are all sorts of Metis, French, British, etc. songs, ranching tunes, whatever.
