Vega 56 is the greatest graphics card ever made by amd. Some people who didn't buy a gtx 1080 or 1070 already still care.
A GPU generation/series from AMD.
Its using a ton of new types of tech but since it's basically one of a kind/new, it had issues and delays. Also has high power draw.
The professional cards trade blows with nvidias quadro series.
The RX "gaming series" just released and don't meet the hype. Had they come out a year ago as planned they would be received better.
The Vega 56 is actually a good alternative to the 1070 but miner fags will buy them all.

470 gets around 28mh. 480 does 31mh.
A 1070 gets around 30mh.

Miner software hasn't been updated to utilize Vega's new instruction set yet.
Vega 56, once you can actually undervolt and overclock it properly on newer drivers, is going to be as fast as a 1080 FE for $399. The 1070 is totally deprecated now.
But you can't buy one now. And you'll never see it for $399 either if mining continues at this rate.

Overclockign was mostly not workign on review drivers so the sample size is limited, but the few that did get overclocking working on Vega 56 found that it pushed performance well past the 1070.
