Have you tried connecting it to your add?

>Not getting the best version.

Please, send it back.
Thank you.

I've never been able to get a DS4 to work on Linux. I haven't really tried that hard, as I also have a Steam Controller, as well as an Xbone Elite controller. That said, it's literally plug and play on my friend's Windows 10 computer.

This, nothing compares to playing the crash bandicoot remake with the ps1 20th anniverasy edition controller.

Download DS4Windows, it makes your PS4 controller be recognized as an Xbox 360 controller. If you're using Linux then tough shit

I hope you have a proper looking console, too.

Pic related and MGSV consoles are best, but loads of other consoles fall under "acceptable."

That's because there are no native drivers for Dualshock controllers for Windows. Even if you plug it in, Windows has no idea what it is.
Install DS4Windows to use it with a Windows PC.

Also good buy, DS4 is probably the best controller for PC gaming, even if it's not officially supported.

is that an actually updated version with more functionality or just cosmetic.

I need to change the left thumbstick I think it's a bit peely.

do I need a Bluetooth dongle or will it still work even connected with a random cable?

The controller cost me $1 so I'm hoping I don't get buyers remorse

Works with any cable and Bluetooth

ok Soni have it plugged into my phone charger now.

it's glowing orange. that means it should be working right

>buy xbox 360 wired controller to use on pc because dirt cheap
>buttons feels stiff
>not pressure sensitive
>dpad is trash
>still can't remember the button xyab layout because so used to the playstation symbols.

>is that an actually updated version with more functionality or just cosmetic.
It's a limited edition cosmetic thing. That said, unlike literally ever other color I've ever seen, nobody who owns the Anniversary edition controller seems to bitch about it breaking down. Whether this is due to them taking better care of it, or better QC being implemented is unknown.

If you are gonna use an Xbox controller, there's really only one option (and you better buy the extended warranty).

Just a basic ass black ps4 phat, I copped it at Target with a free copy of assassin's Creed unity.

None of the special edition ps4s really tickled my fancy expect the ps1 version. The black forest bother me cuz my Vita, headset, and tv are all black so it all matches up.

If it wasn't matte, I would agree with you. But my Vita and TV aren't matte black. Neither is my PS3 (which I keeped hooked up for BC).

Did they fix the quality control yet?

If you're on windows just install ds4windows and the xbox 360 accessories program. With that you can use it to emulate a 360 pc controller and it works flawlessly, I use my ds4 that way.

Try resetting the controller after installing the software someone mentioned above.

To reset it stick a toothpick, paperclip or something in that hole next to the screw hole on the back while it's hooked up to the computer.

Unknown, which is why I said to purchase the extended warranty for 5-10 bucks.

why would i cuck myself.
for that price i'll just buy a vita tv bundle and get a ps3 controller.

buttons might be fucked.
anyway.
clean that shit.

You can use a DS4 on a PSTV. So if that's what you are wanting to do, just drop the 25 bucks for a PSTV on ebay, and buy a DS4.

I'm not really defending the price of the Elite controller. I was just saying that its the only Xbox controller worth using.

>any
Except some shitty ones that ship their own bluetooth stack.
I got a noname $2 one from aliexpress, probably all the ones that are simply labeled "CSR 4.0" work.
And before you think about latency, shit's like below 3ms at all times.
>DS4Windows
And by that you should download the actually updated version, this: github.com/Ryochan7/DS4Windows/releases

nah the standard xbone controller is fine.
Far better than DS4 too.

>Far better than DS4 too.

The regular Xbone controller sucks dick.

>racing games
Xbone controller

>everything else
Dual shock

>Racing games
>Xbone controller
Unless its the Elite version, this is false. Both the Steam Controller is better.

>racing
>not getting wheels and pedals
do you even racekar?

>it doesn't seem to be lighting up or anything
My controller only lights up when I use the PS4 Remote Play application.

I kinda regret cancelling the preorder I had for two of those...

>he's never used a steam controller
I pity you

>Pic related and MGSV consoles are best, but loads of other consoles fall under "acceptable."

>t. the man with no taste

if you're using GNU/Linux, you don't need weird software like this, most controllers have support in the kernel. e.g. the wii u pro controller works out of the box unlike on Windows

also, emulating a 360 controller is stupid

Steam controller is trash, I pity everyone who spent 50 fucking dollars on that meme.

>also, emulating a 360 controller is stupid

>What is XInput?

sync it with bluetooth

hold Share + ps button for 3 secs until it flashes quickly

use DS4windows

>any shade of white
my ps1 is yellow now.

youtube.com/watch?v=VU7vXMezW_I

>use DS4windows

Wasn't the DualShock 4 advertised by Sony as fully compatible with PC? Why do you need 3rd party drivers?

DS4 feels awful in the hand, cheap thin plastic compared to even the regular xbone controller, offset or symmetrical is user preference but the quality of the DS4 does not compare

i'm no autist. but my ps2 is black like new.
my ps1 is deprecated and goes on the psp.

When you connect it to any powered USB port, it will start to charge with the light fading in and out.
You can try downloading drivers. But it shouldn't matter. Maybe it's battery is just really dead?

No? Where did you hear that?
There are a few PC games that come with it's own drivers. But I never heard the DS4 being officially compatible.

DS4Windows is awful. Just use InputMapper.
It has a wide range of configuration, far more than even the xbone controller on PC.

>xbone controller
Yeah, no.

>also, emulating a 360 controller is stupid
How else would you be 100% compatible with all games?
Linux does the same with Wine and Xinput.

sonyggers, everyone

Yeah I just tried it out and it works, without it. However ds4 windows gives you more options like changing the lightbar, mapping, different profiles, also compatible with Xinput etc.

>No? Where did you hear that?
tomshardware.com/news/dualshock-4-windows-pc-compatibility,24563.html

Was it a lie then?

...

Don't own a single Sony product, just like the DualShock controller.
Are you upset?

go to one gamestop
buy a used ps4 controller in cash
go to another gamestop
return your broken controller
keep working one

>I don't own a single Sony product, you should listen to my opinion on them
lol

Can't see anything about full compatibility here.
Just as I said.

The emulator/game must have it's own support for the controller for it to work. It's a really short list.

Single other Sony product*
I though it's obvious if we are talking about the controller that I have one. The comment about Sony products was about being a fanboi.

>trying to save face on an anonymous imageboard
top zozzle

haha, so you do own one? i thought you didn't own one, you just like it is all

>also, emulating a 360 controller is stupid
No, because the 360 controller has better native support in a lot of PC games. The PS4 controller sometimes doesn't get recognized at all in some games.

I do not use Wine, nor do I play games that have trouble supporting my controller as it is.
