Firejail, and agent spoofer, and NoScript severely limits the amount of damage that anything on the web can do to my system. DNSSEC/TLSA Validator and HTTPS Everywhere limit the damage I can do to myself online.
While Chrome can do almost all of these things, they can not do NoScript. Therefore, I would argue that FF is more secure.

"Botnet" is a privacy concern, not a security one. By default Firefox is the most privacy friendly mainstream browser. Furthermore you can harden Firefox both on the privacy and on the security front with extensions and config settings. Sandboxed tabs should also improve things on the security front when they come on FF 57.

firefox was at pwn2own this year. all the browsers at pwn2own get routinely owned, and mozilla patched the hole in less than 24 hours. firefox will be less vulnerable in the future as more of the codebase is hardened with rust which eliminates a whole class of attack vectors.
