Pay $10 more get a 1080ti, pay $20 less get a 1080 with factory waterblock

Pay $10 more get a 1080ti, pay $20 less get a 1080 with factory waterblock.

How will AMD ever recover?

By selling nice CPUs and a very fucking nice APU.
But vega is fucked, specially vega 64.

...

...

Fuck off slavE

The sad thing is they are sold out.

LOL yuropoor BTFO

We should have got big Polaris desu

Fbpb
Amd needs to rethink their shit when it comes to gpus

>But vega is fucked
Eghh no. Like at all.

You can't be fucked if you are DOA

Meme.
They did.
They generalized non-compute shaders.

Vega 64 @400 usd is okay.

This is why I just said fuck it and got one of the 1080tis. At least I will be able to use that until Navi (as if Navi won't have the same fucking problem as Volta)

>Chiptakt
>Dual-Slot
>Enthusiast виeoкapтa

Buy one and ship it to me. I will mail you 4 pair of Levis in return.

Vega is has much more raw computing performance.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was decently better than the 1080ti in two years.

Compute doesnt matter.
Something else matters.

they ship worldwide, its EU taxes make it 650 or retaielr fucking with western crowd I can't tell anymore
should be 550 for anywhere else, depending on your import tax limit, just use .ru version to order

something else utilizes compute for non compute though, so compute matters

It doesnt matter as long as frontend chokes.

they should scrap everything and wing it on some revolutionary shit like they did with ryzen

Well Vega is literally that.
It's basically Larrabee that works.

Vega is losing mind share in the gaming comunity because gamers cannot afford this $200 over msrp bull shit.

Even this package deals are shit since they use the overpriced value to set the package price.

Wow, recently launched card with 2.5D packaging has supply issues!
Also,
>Radeon
>mindshare
What?
You silly thing Radeon has none since what, 2900xt failure.

Well it's like they say, you get what you pay for.

Problem is that they only made 10 of the things instead of 1000. The supply is just fucked.

The drivers are more or less fucked too.
They lack pipeline for NGG culling.

>dirt 4
/r/amd shill

You can say all you want about just waiting for the supply to catch up but by that time volta anouncments and marketing will be dropping so no one will want vega. They will just wait for volta.

Q2 2018 is far and away.
And it's not like AMD cares that much about gaymers.
You get what you've wished for: a nice monopoly from nVidia.

pic related: (You)

cheer up lad, maybe volta won't burn nvidia's factory to the ground before they reach you

I honestly believe whole Vega release is vaporware, they made just enough GPUs they fill up demand but other than that its pure paper release.
That is the reason for no custom PCB+cooling solutions from other firms and just 2 almost same types( you can easily oc vega56 to v64 speed).
They are enduring birth pains of HDM2 vram, stuff nvidia will be forced to deal with Volta (they say its prepared but I do think they welcome some breathing space to iron the kinks).

AMD did fuck up but they just buy time with Vega , now, this is the part I don't get,
why the fuck they won't flood the market with cheap rx5#0?
They could easily sell shitload of those.
Or,is rx500 low yield GPU? Did they lose money, because they were really at the nice spot with rx500,yes,slower than nvidia but good enough for 80% of market

>That is the reason for no custom PCB+cooling solutions from other firms
ASUS already announced Strix for both, the rest are coming September.
>They are enduring birth pains of HDM2 vram
It's HBM2 and no, it's not the problem.
2.5D assembly is just a slow process.

non-news
All the lame "tech" youtube channels ranted the same thing a week ago the obvious
> AMD fans are only so because of being thrifty
> Value is thrown out the window right after launch with price increases
> WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?
They are still being purchased but as expected mainly from crypto coin miners. AMD is fail.
> "WAIT FOR VEGA!" everyone said
> Vega arrives. Price hike almost immediately after launch.
> I AM DISAPPOINT

The market is fucked anyway since the memory prices are not going down.
Heck, G5/G5X are about to skyrocket.

Well, slow process is a problem, I believe pricy too.

4-Hi is not pricy.
It costs barely more than any decent G5X setup.
2.5D assembly is just slow.
Well for now.

чтo?

Baшi мaтepi-oceлi хoтiли б цьoгo

I saw it on semidecent YT hw channel(they did actual research and asked "industry specialists" ) so take with a grain of salt ,but
8gb of hbm2 is around 100$, they managed to come down to 70$ ... AMD probably has even lower prices but all in all its around ~300$ without actual GPU so it is around 400-500 per GPU.
Enough to sell it without profit when you take resellers into account ,but they were forced because with gddr5 it would literally be 750w x3 8pin GPU+ hot as shit(as those two were not problem as it is).
My question still stands, what stops AMD to flood the market with rx500? Does anyone knows?
Is it that they'll end up dealing with obvious warranty issues miners will have inside warranty date(worst part is, they sell it with warranty to gamers so they'll be the one dealing with artefacts (fucked vram) and heat/cooler issues?

>~300$ without actual GPU
Wat.

Videokarta, bok ruski komrad, kak si?

AMD would not set the MSRP above what they sell it to the retailers for. That would be ILLEGAL. And so is forcing retailers to sell at MSRP.

That is why we know the issue is with retailers trying to scalp customers and not with weird AMD shenanigans.

Basically retailers are trying to either make extra money (likely) and or they are trying to fuck over AMD by pricing AMD cards so high that people buy NVIDIA instead (possible).

Without dye, you know, actual graphic processing unit(chip, proccesor ...).
GPU is just chip, video card is actually what you call gpu..

How do you even get $300 without the fucking die?

>what stops AMD to flood the market with rx500
AMD doesn't manufacture the cards themselves. They hire that out to 3rd parties. Those third parties are unwilling to add additional capacity for the short term because that would mean lots of equipment, space, and man power going unused once the initial wave of everyone buying the cards they want.

Besides that strategy burned them before back during the first boom and bust of bitcoin a few years back. They were left with a massive supply of cards that no one wanted and had to write it off losing hundreds of millions in the process. They are worried that the current Eth/altcoins will do the same thing and AMD has publicly stated that they believe that the current demand is a bubble.

>semidecent YT hw channel
steve I know it's you.

Well, check
gamernexus!? on YouTube , it is fairly decent analysis ,they put apart Vega and they check how much would it cost to make one, part by part ,even the box its in
, I don't want to propagate them so look in spoiler if you want to know
Well, bear with me on this one, didn't they just rebrand them and put into circulation again, just as slightly lower tier,
As far as can see, since hd7970 they make babysteps and rebranding, sometimes I feel whole generation is just an driver update with maybe light oc, it really does not feel like 7970 and Vega are 6 generations apart
yet you really can't say that gtx480 with gtx1080.

>Steve
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Thank you, guys, for watching, link is down below, and see you next week !!

Steve who?
I'm just another sad user.
So, what do you guys think?
Please,leave comments below.

* fuck, my point here being, AMD still gets to keep the title of victim and unjust underdog status, but they didn't lose actual ,real money.
They do sell everything they make(usually ,even if they have to change stickers couple of times) , nvidia sold more high end gpu thnx to AMD than their whole " gpu motherboard with drivers" marketing trick.

where the fuck is the Vega48?

Vega11 is later.
