Born in russia

>born in russia
>lived in france
why do poles claim her as one of their own?

>born Maria Salomea Skłodowska
>7 November 1867
>Warsaw, Kingdom of Poland, then part of Russian Empire

>Warsaw, part of Russian Empire
fixed it for you, friend

You know the Tsars titled themselves Kings of Poland as a title separate from the Emperor title, right?

If they lost curie and witcher3,Their nationalism will go strict destruction

Nah we still got some other figures like Kosciuszko a guy that's a national hero in three different countries and has dozens of places paying him tribute.

She considered herself one of us. Why do you think Polonium is named that?

>implying that your ethnicity magically alters as soon as you set foot on foreign land

By that logic I'm Swedish.

pretty sure he was from belarus

No love for Copernicus?

Maria Czury is Hungarian, along with her husband Miklós Tisza

he was ethnically german

But he was a product of Poland. Born, raised and educated in Poland.

>he was ethnically german
There is no german ethnicity
you're bunch of germanic tribes merged together

Kopernik was a Pole.

Poles have every right to claim her as their own. It's when they attribute the entire Curie legacy to themselves that the french become angered.

I mean, people hyped Marie Curie to death because she's a feminist legend for being a female scientist, but much of her work also stemmed from the brains of her french husband, Joseph Curie.

Saying that Marie Curie did all the work is absurd but it's often what poles try to do.

merged together in holy roman empire
and kopernicus mothertounge was german, he was raised in a german enviroment with german culture

...

Prussian

Prussia didn't belong to HRE.

His mother was a German Barbara Watzenrode, father's nationality was not clear. He wrote in Latin and German, not a single document in the Polish language, written by his own hand, is not revealed; After the early death of his father, he was raised in a German family, mother and uncle. Thus, Copernicus was ethnically German or half German, although he might have considered himself a Pole (on the territorial and political affiliation).

>Joseph Curie
It's Pierre Curie though.

We have good synergy with the Poles anyway.

Nobody here says that she did all the work. They were both scientists of great merit. It seems her contributions were bigger than his, though. Also she lived longer and had more time.

g*rman scum are the biggest thieves known to history

go claim you build Kraków and Warsaw too

She considered herself Polish of course.
>Polonium

That's exactly why trying to assign current nationalities for historical people is often pointless and meaningless

well, its hard to deny that much of the architecture in Poland is influenced by Germans

Nietzsche claimed to be a Pole. :^)
by western world which we're a part of since 966

>

I think he talks about destruction of Warsaw, m8

>influenced by Germans
Dutch actually ;^)

and now your culture is being taken over by rapefugees

cuck germoney mahomed pls leave

Dutch that Germans genocided

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olędrzy

she was german

Agreed, it's just a way for NEETs to piggy back on other people's achievements. She identified as Polish, French academia enabled her to do research and she collaborated with her French husband.

That makes neither me nor you better at science, she's just a great scientist, with the added flair of overcoming quite an amount of unfavourable odds.

This debate shouldn't be divisive.

It's Masha Kurva, a famous Polish feminist and the inventor of kievbasa.

to be honest with you, dutch and germans are pretty much the same people

Germans have no mercy.

100% this

If only that was true that the divine food was invented by poles ;_;

There's a big difference: Dutch don't try to destroy Europe.

t-thats not true

they would, if they had more power
its in their germanic blood

they had some unification ideas, though

They were civilized by the Romans, were neutral during WW1, opposed to Germany during WW2 and aren't the main heads destroying Europe through multiculturalism, mass-immigration and rapefugees in the modern age. Not comparable desu.

So neither Polish or German?

cause they didnt have the power we have

>Why do you think Polonium is named that?

because it's poisonous and useless, just like Poland

Thank you for him and Pulaski. Dog bless.

>opposed to Germany during WW2
Please tell me about their defense campaign and later resistance.

She was Jewish!

Modern meanings of 'Polish' and 'German' don't really apply. Prussia wasn't part of HRE, later on was occupied by germanic Teutonic Order, then it became a vasal of Poland, then Copernicus was born. Later it became independent and strong, took part in partitions of Poland, and united other german states into Germany.

Majority of Pr*ssians were germanised western slavs anyway.

If you actually read this you'll see he's quite polish

Poland has given us many intelligent figures

>raised in German culture
>spoke German
>was half-German by mother's side
>100% Polish, I swear

Sorry, but that's like saying Boscovich is 100% Croatian. It's just not true. Both of those figures are way more Italian/German than they are Croatian/Polish.

There was no such thing as "german" back then.

Silesia wasn't germanised in that time.

Correction:
>raised in Poland in a Polish culture
>spoke and wrote in German, Latin, Polish
>was half-German (from a Polish Polonised German family that lived i Poland for generations, which was always loyal to Poland and fought Teuton scum) and half-Polish.
Yeah... he's Polish, both nationally and ethnically.
