Here's some nice boobs for your trouble.

Did the recent update to google Chrome on android disable keyboard shortcuts such as ctrl + c, ctrl + v? Play store says it updated 9hrs ago.

I realize Brave browser on android is Google Chrome with built in adblock and without google spying, but this is the nail in the coffin for me if true.

I recognize that image.

What font pack do I install so I never see those stupid rectangles again?

I could install any fontpack for a specific language off the Arch wiki, but I simply don't want to have to do that for every language I happen to encounter.

I just want something with about the availability that windows offers in terms of character number.

That is like an OCD test.

anyone here fall for the crypotcurrency meme?

I want to store my ethereum in a local wallet, what's a Sup Forums approved client for doing so?

Has anyone experienced an issue in Windows 10 where wifi loses the default gateway and drops connection? My wifi will cut out and sometimes running the troubleshooter will reset the adapter and fix it. Other times it just kills my wifi driver and even reinstalling it doesn't fix the issue and I have to do a system restore. I did a Reset this PC option and the issue stipp persists. I've tried everything, assigning a static IP, updating driver's. Nothing works. Is it an issue with my router? None of my other devices have issues. Just my desktop.

Is there a way to force grey-scale antialiasing on Firefox?

What's the difference between

?
Is GnuWin32 the successor with new development? With everything packaged?

t. not on Linux right now

does anyone how to / if it is possible to make ONLY the google page and google searches have a black theme without removing the chrome theme that i have and installing a new one in its place?
(windows of course)

When I reinstalled ubuntu on my laptop with LUKS from the install menu, it gave me 8 gbs of swap memory. Is that too much? It really cuts into my tiny ssd.

>(windows of course)

Anyone know any good guides on how to take say a 1080p h264 video and either transcoding it to h265 or staying with h264, but reducing it to 720p, but with minimal loss when it comes to high motion scenes? So how to decide on what an "ideal" new bitrate or quality setting is, to get best bang for buck on reducing the quality.

Need to make some more room and I rather not resort to flat out deleting, or resorting to using compressed zips that slow file access a lot..

need help with this afterglow xbox one controller, it does not want to work on my computer
doesn't even show up in device manager at all, not even under other/unknown devices
according to their website, it just uses the MS drivers that I already have, but it's not recognized by the computer in any way
it lights up and everything when I plug it in but nothing software-side

howtogeek.com/199993/converting-videos-by-the-batch-with-handbrake/

Zips wouldn't do jack shit for you anyway. You can't really compress media files enough to make a difference.

I've been using Staxrip, is that better than handbrake?

My issue is more with specific settings, crf, 264/265, bitrate caps etc

if i become a network/system admin can i pretty much fuck off all day and get payed for it since im the one who monitors employees?

...

Different user, is the sysadmin field shrinking because it can be automated yet? what are the qualas associated like associate degree in IT right?

belongs to cryptonight.usa.nicehash.com

Staxrip is a little more complicated. Supposedly it takes better advantage of nVidia cards when doing rips.

What you're suggesting isn't necessarily a great idea though. Converting from one lossy codec to another is going to inherently lead to quality loss, and it sounds like you don't have access to the original lossless media. It also takes a comparatively long time and a lot of processing power to encode x265. And the bigger the overall filesize, the less difference between the two codecs. If I were you I'd just keep your current collection as is, and start finding 10bit x265 rips wherever possible in the future.

Can anyone help me understand how to open samba ports on my router?

I'm trying to set up a samba file sharing server on my local intranet, but it looks like my router is "filtering" the required ports. See nmap on the left, and my router config page on the right.

i've gotten a lot of answers from everywhere, but what exactly is linux? i see people using gentoo and ubuntu and all kinds of linux os' but is there a true linux os or do you need one of those to operate?

GNU/linux is a free and open source operating system. Linux is a the kernel, something all operating systems have. It allows software and user level applications to communicate with the hardware, aswell as manage resources. The GNU part is a collection of arbitrary applications designed to run ontop of a *nix(linux) kernel.

it's called linux because the kernel is the only unifying them between them, next to systemd

Was recording a long (~2.5 hr) .flv video with OBS Studio 64 bit and my power died. I've tried using OBS's Remux function as well as ffmpeg transcoding to mp4, Avidemux transcoding, VLC transcoding, Webmforretards transcoding as well as just playing in MPC. All of these fail to open the file or don't detect any media. OBS does nothing when I select the file and click 'remux', the window just stays there as though I haven't clicked anything. I'm trying to upload to Youtube now, but it seems that they 'dont recognize the file format' despite other non corrupted .flvs working fine.

The file is full of data, but I just can't access it. Is there some way I can manually 'close' it? If you'll excuse my use of psuedocode, I figure OBS didn't put a 'stop' at the end of the video or something. I'd really like to get this thing working.

Anyone here who uses Xubuntu and has a Nvidia card? Specifically the 970?
Because I can not get the fucking screen to work on mine no water I do it seems. I have tried doing nomodeset but when it boots it just goes blank. I'm convinced it's my 970 but if someone else got it to work I would like to know. Maybe it's something else of mine but I can't be sure until I know otherwise.

Please help.

so like ubuntu and mint and all that are like user created things that run on top of the base os? kind of like skins or something like that?

If vlc can't play it then there is nothing you can do with it.

Yeah, Mark Shuttleworth made them.

What's a good method for downloading youtube videos without losing quality?

what's a good method for binbows?

youtube-dl

thank you

I have tried playing it with VLC but it can't open the file, same as with MPC. So it's fucked then and I have no way to write 'stop' manually?

Yeah you're wrong too about what is wrong with the file.

built new computer. SSD is my new C: and my old drives are all connected too. have Win10 on new system, but my old C: (which is now D:) still has Windows 7 and all the old Windows files on it. should i delete it or is it fine? im concerned only because the Win7 had screwed up USB drivers (that aren't an issue anymore thankfully).

Thing is nobody really has the "lossless" master version unless they recorded th video themself ... everyone's got a "lossy" 4k or 1080p from a bluray at best...

I do have a bunch of lower quality porn from the 90-00's when 480p is as good as it got; so converting that to x265 would be worth it?

My main concern is picking settings such that I can batch process without much worry, cant try several different profiles, crf values because that would take ages.

Semantics. You'll be ending up with a rip of a rip, and that shit gets bad real fast. All that xvid shit you have is definitely much bigger than it needs to be, but shrinking what you have is going to be disproportionately bad for quality. Best you can do is try it and see if it looks good enough to you to delete the "originals".

How about avi/wmv/flv?

Also mp4 vs mkv? I feel like mpv might not be as device compatible as mp4 container but not sure

is 8gb of ram holding me back in video editing? I'm working with 1080p60fps content mostly, as well as using a overclocked 1600. Would 16gb be a wiser upgrade over something like a scratch disk for project cache and storing source files?

in HWmonitor which temperature is accurate for ryzen cpus? The package temp reading on the CPU? or the CPU temp reading on the motherboard? I'm noticing about a 11-20c delta between the two

I was referring to the codec, not the container. Just trial and error that shit. I imagine there are at least a few devices out there that still accept mp4 but not mvk, like the PS3. The main advantage to mvk is the ability to embed subtitles. If you need to convert one to the other in the future, it's a trivial change via remuxing that has no impact on quality.

Do you ever run out of ram while doing your work? Do you like having lots of things running in the background? Then yeah. Personally I have 16 gigs and I have never run out of memory. Ever. But if you have some spare money why not.

Looking to pay less for my internet currently paying $55 a month cheapest plan.

I have cableone 50Mbps 300gb limit mostly use it for streaming and got a second warning about going over my data cap and a 3rd warning will bump me to a higher 400gb for $69

spoke to a CenturyLink rep and he said that a DSL 7Mbps direct line (best i can get in my area NE) would be better than the cable's shared line. no data limits $20

Is he bullshiting me.

what's the AMD's equivalent of ark.intel.com?

"no data limits" is relative. And occasionally they get it wrong. In some areas they do have hard caps, in others they don't. 7mpbs is a lot slower, but with a 300gb cap you aren't really taking advantage of the higher speeds. Expect around 3gb per hour.

srsly though

I noticed in my Nvidia control panel my monitor and gpu are HDCP compatible. I heard you need certain gpus and certain monitors to play Blu Ray content, so does this mean I can do it with the right software and optical drive?

>Are Blu Rays worth it on a computer if you're not that into pirating?
Is it possible to make it the point of "just pop it in and play it"? From what I heard it's an absolute hassle and DRM hell

do your old My Music and My Downloads folders get removed entirely if you don't back them up?

I switched from Win7 on an HDD to Win10 on an SSD. my old HDD is still entirely intact and I use it as a separate drive. however, i can't find My Music or My Downloads and think i made a big mistake...

How did you migrate your data? Just the default Windows 'upgrade'? What did you do with your HDD->SSD migration? Everything should have went fine, but at least you have your backup right?

What is the best free vpn if you consider that i can't pay for a vpn at all?
What can an isp or Vpn see through https?

Does google's Re/captcha spy on us?

That's a big tit

Absolutely

Of course.

i booted from the Win10 disc/SSD. it still shows the space in my old HDD as the same before i switched so maybe it's just in another folder

None. Don't use free VPNs. That shit is janky as fuck.

Anything that isn't encrypted, including most of the pages you browse.

Well shit is it possible to post anonymously or we're fucked?
Also isn't 8 ch better if we think about privacy?

So a (((free))) vpn can't see what i do through https?
So how to be anonymous on the Internet without money at all?

Buy a 4cuck pass with BC you bought with cash

Nah its a honeypot. Overall post quality also decreases because of constant right wing propaganda.

You can use tor on it you just need to do a captcha every 5 post.

Hey, I have this CRT monitor (had it since 2001) and I've started using it as a second display for my laptop.

The picture quality is good, but there's this constant buzzing sound. I remember it buzzing while turned on (like any other CRT), but I don't remember it also buzzing while turned off (but still plugged into the power grid).

Turned on = sounds like a saw wave
Turned off = quiet, chirpy buzzing (sounds like robot crickets)

Is it failing or dangerous to use?

can my pc with wifi be the uplink for a switch

dont ask "why", just yes or no, and how.

I got a .deb file and a .pub file. How can I check the .deb file with the .pub file? Thanks in advance.

i dont usually run out but my usuage with just the video editor and waterfox with 2-3 tabs open is up to 95% or more in some cases, and I feel like allocating more to the editor could help performance quite a bit

Can I install debian using predefined options? I dislike having to wait for popularity contest notification and hate how it cuts into the installation process.

My old pc on xubuntu slow down from time to time (a nightmare with firefox)
What can i do?

That's probably legit, but it's probably a limited price, like it will go up after a while. Be carful of contracts

Install a lighter weight graphical enviornment

Get a better computer

Get more ram maybe, or a less shit HDD.
Best option would be to get a new pc probably.

Swap out Xfwm with openbox

Hey guys, I have a dual monitor setup using Windows 10 and watch videos on my secondary monitor. However, every time I exit fullscreen mode on mpv or mpc-hc, the part of the image from the video remains stuck to the desktop until I click on the desktop and it goes away. This doesn't happen with my primary monitor though, so I'm guessing it might be a problem with Windows and dual monitors. Does anyone know what is causing this?

If not, if anybody knows what this problem is called, I would appreciate it so I can search myself. Been trying to search for solutions to this problem, but can't bring anything up in search engines that match my problem. Using vague search terms isn't helping me.

They can see what pages you're looking at, and any info that gets embedded in the url, like user tokens. Also you'd be surprised just how much data gets sent plaintext that you wouldn't want to share.

Tor. Not a great solution, but pretty much the only one available at your budget.

Why do windows host virtual machines suck so bad ? Running Ubuntu on my windows machine is barely up to the task of web browsing, very poor graphical performance. But I heard people with Linux host still have good performance and can watch movies and play games and such and all is fine ?

also i didnt' back anything up though, because i figured it would just carry over. everything but My Music/My Downloads seem to...?

I always have used shitty 50 cents~$1 USD headphones so i have been used that i can hear some details of music on one side that doesn't exist in the other side.
Is this normal? is this still a problem in decent quality headphones?

Pls

>details of music on one side that doesn't exist in the other side.
Stereo output?

songs can have different audio tracks on each ear. but sometimes if you are watching youtube videos or what not the audio can just be screwed up from the person who made it and nothing you can buy will fix it.

There are a few different methods of unattended installations used by the likes Debian education. Or there's preseeded installers. Not entirely sure of what you're asking though, waiting for popcon, huh?

No, Stereo works fine though, still from one side i cant hear low frequency sounds (bass) but from the other i can.

the saw wave sound is from the electrons being fired and shit which is how it works in the first place. if you hear noises when its off / on standby thats probably not a good sign.

In X, how do I change what applications come up under the menu when I right-click?

Do you have virtualization extensions enabled in your bios?

Coil whine.
Shit is old and needs maintenance but is not a good idea to give it yourself because supercapacitors are scary and can harm you easy.

What's the best keepass app on Android?

I think that is a feature of your wm, not x.

Too poor for a new computer
i'll try to switch to openbox as user said i have only 1gb of ram but i tough that Xubuntu was that lighweight

Found the link: wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/Preseed

Thanks, sempai.

Screenfetch says WM is not found, what do?

never mind, found it! was in Users. of course!

thanks user, i think i'll just browse with tor then.

So in FireFox, if I want to set up for example appchanx, and I want it to send me (You) notifications. I click Accept Notifications, then if I refresh the page or change tabs, the request to allow them comes up again. What's going on?
