Anyone got an opinion on the librem 5?

What does Sup Forums use as their daily driver?

How is it operating now compared to when you unboxed it?

>speed
>battery
>glitches

Would you recommend it?

_

I'm using an S6 edge,
running really well after ~2y now

Speed - is good considering how old it is now
occasionally lags but not severely / often enough for it to be an issue

Battery - is decent enough, still wish it was longer though
I'd say an avg of 2.5-3.5 hours of screen on time

Glitches - it started glitching a lot around ~1 year of owning
(mostly apps crashing so badly I had to regularly restart phone)
but since then all of that has been fixed and it has been very consistent

Considering how it isn't classified as water resistant, it's very durable.
has never been submerged, but has been splashed many times and gotten sand in ports

I've also dropped it many times with and without a case
glass is in near perfect condition
(no regular / spiderweb cracks, only a few barely visible scratches on display)

never heard of it before now
looked it up, and I'm interested in a privacy / security focused phone

I wouldn't use it as my primary tho cus it won't have as many apps as a droid

The problem I'm having looking for a smartphone is that I don't actually use almost any apps, and I don't play games on them, but I don't want to be the social outcast with a feature phone.

Running linux on a phone sounds heavenly, since there have been so many times when I've wanted to do things and haven't been able to because of how closed off android is.

Being able to fuck around in console or program while on public transit would be great, with a physical keyboard of course.

Are we gonna get the new Honor phone? If not, is the honor 8 pretty good? Neweggs having a sale

Will Android ever be upgradable officially where the only restriction will be hardware requirements?

Next Pixel model out when?

How does Sup Forums feel about all the recent smartphone news / leaks / keynotes?

iPhone 8

Galaxy S8/+
Galaxy Note 8

Pixel 2

LG G6
LG V30

etc

I'm becoming a bit desensitised to it all,
can't bring myself to give a shit about upcoming phones anymore

not sure if it's all the hype that surrounds each release
only to be followed by letdowns / cut corners

I was pretty hyped about the S8

until
>unintuitive fingerprint button placement
>poor battery life rumors
>shitty bixby button

I heard that you could remap it, and got excited again
then Sammy put a stop to that

Was also looking forward to seeing Apple finally innovate again with the 8
>fingerprint scanner under display
>ranged wireless charging

all nonsense

dream phone is another HTC m8/10 series

It's expected to be around Oct this year

Can you map the shutter button to the home button if the phone has one?It would seem nifty

Why does every girl use iPhone?

I think you are shitposting

What's the best phone you can get now or in two months time for $400 with decent sot (5+) and an above average camera

What is Sup Forums's dream phone?

specs, OS, measurements, any other specifications

_

My dream phone:

>1080p 5.3" LCD panel (w latest GGlass)

>body of S7 edge / with aluminium back

>3500 mAh battery / quick charge

>128gb storage, SD slot unnecessary

>4gb RAM

>near stock android

>stereo speakers

>rear camera of Galaxy S8
>selfie camera of iPhone 7

>extra button that can be remapped to app / function

SD slot / wireless charging are unnecessary imo, so can be removed to make room for other necessities

have found in-phone storage to be more reliable, but thats just me

and wireless charging is nowhere near comparable to quick charging,
so mainstream phones ought not to have it yet

plenty don't,
but the ones that do are concerned with being different from everyone else

what kind of pathetic neckbeard dreams for such an average phone?

apart from display, what's average about it?

I want 1080p, because I currently have a 1440/2560p phone,
and I don't think it's worth the extra power it consumes

and I want an LCD panel because my S6 has some serious screen burn-in

Less that 5.5 inches in length
At least 80% screen body ratio
Micro SD slot
FM radio is enabled
Excellent camera
Headphone jack

Doesn't have to have a flagship processor if it has these. The Sharp Aquos S2 is very close to it so I might get it when the price drops.

Does anyone else here have screen burn issues with their phones??

I have the S7 edge, and have burn in from the keyboard and the top bar,
trying to see how common it is, because it's putting me off getting another AMOLED phone

no burn in on my s7
but then again I hardly use my phone

Should I get the V30, or waitâ„¢ for the Pixel 2? The main thing I want is the best camera, and while the V30 has a cool camera app with nice features I worry about the small 1/3" sensor.
Would the Pixel produce better pictures with its 1/2.3" sensor? How much does it matter?

>6" 1440p IPS LCD screen with 600+ nits of brightness
>body of Xperia Z2 without the bezels
>3500+ mAh battery
>128gb storage
>SD card slot
>6gb memory
>latest snapdragon chipset
>stock android
>front facing stereo speakers, but low profile like on the Xperia Z2
>dual rear cameras, one with 4 axis OIS, 21mp resolution, f/1.6 aperture and 1/2.3" sensor size, and another one with the same specs except telephoto
>front camera doesn't matter I'm not a girl
>two stage camera button
>ip68 water resistant
>headphone jack with a decent dac

I think this is realistic, but every manufacturer cuts corners somewhere. I was really looking forward to the v30, but it has a shitty 1/3" sensor, 4gb of ram, and of course no company besides sony uses camera buttons for some fucking reason.

>quick tile bug where you couldn't drag a tile from the bottom to your quick settings is back
>quick tiles from third party apps STILL don't light up when in use
What the FUCK is team pajeetOS (RN3P) doing?

What happened to the regular /spg

>LGV30
>no more meme screen

I love it so much on the V10

Didn't get any replies yesterday. What's the best lightweight ROM for a G935F currently? Working SIM toolkit preferable.

What are the current recommended budget phones? Looking at something like the Nokia 3 or Moto E4. For use in the EU.
Local store has the E4 at 140 $, but I don't know if it's any good,

just got a galaxy s8+ as a free replacement. I fucking hate android on samsungs. Whats the best way to remove bixby and this other bloatware

This isn't how you make a /spg/ thread

For that much you could import a redmi note 4, but if you wanna buy local both the phones are good enough

If requesting purchasing advice, please provide your country and what carrier you will be using it with, along with wanted features, budget and size.

People shouldn't make the threads if they can't be bothered doing it properly

lads do i upgrade from a 2015 j5 to an s8 plus for 42 bongs a month?

No

I'd rather not import a phone - custom will probably fuck me and add an extra 60 $

i wish they had cheap version for poorfags, 600$ is more than i earn in two months

Should I jump on the Samsung bandwagon and get the S8+?

I'm getting real sick and tired of my G5's GPS. Always, ALWAYS direct me to a wrong destination, gets GPS signal lost, and then asking me to make a U-turn 10 times. I've never raged so hard

G5S+ when?

It already released in pooland

For u

why?

There's several chink stores that offer customs free shipping. Ibuygou with "import duty insurance", Honorbuy (they ship from an EU warehouse so no import fees), HK Goldway on Aliexpress (choose DHL for no import fees)

Afaik getting a phone off contract and using a prepaid sim is 25-30 percent cheaper, but if it's feasible for you to pay you will get a massive upgrade

Thanks! I'll definitely look into that

in terms of financing i'd be better off having the phone and contract all bundled into one, also don't call me Afaik just because I own a J5 i know it's a pajeet phone

I've heard mixed reviews about the S8

the S7 would be a better choice:
>largely reduced price
>camera is essentially the same as on the S8
>fp scanner in a better position
>no Bixby button to confuse you when trying to turn down volume

I've had 2 Samsung phones now, the S4 got quite laggy into the second year of use
the S6 I'm currently using is still going strong into 2nd year, but I'm thinking of waiting until the S9/10 to upgrade

The blokes at aawp have blogs about UK related plans, but yeah s8 will be really big jump

Don't buy touchjizz, get a pixle

Apple has grown too conservative to "innovate" on such a level with a single release.
All their innovation is more or less incremental now. Their phones are still top tier even though prices are insanely high.

There should be an aosp rom if it's snapdragon, also idk about the cyanogen replacement whatever it's called, but I'd imagine they support the s8+

>need new phone ASAP
>stuck between the Pixel and the S7
Either that, or I use an S3 until the Pixel 2 is out. But from what I've seen, it's not making me interested. Same with the S8

Got my 1st Android. What should everyone install/setup first for security/easiness/etc.? Really basic shit. I don't know anything about Androids. It's also a china botnet phone.

Get a Note 4x now or wait for redmi 5 series?

What phone

Redmi 4x.

Get yourself Clover (Sup Forums app)

I was more thinking of Adblock, replacing default apps. and whatever, but Sup Forums app is good too.

loojs like a garmin device

Is there root available for S8+ unlocked variant?

I don't care about maintaining knox status

I feel it's better this year than it was over the past two years. Not just because of bezel shortening but because it really feels like some companies are trying to light a fire under their asses in trying to deliver something new to the masses. The S8 series being an example of Samsung breaking away from their typical hardware design and finally going the way with the rest of the world with soft navkeys. I wouldn't lie that the S8+ was so enticing that it made me want to get one outright to replace my Nexus.

That said it seems I will more than likely go for the V30 now.

Plus if it is true that the iP8 will go in a different design and include wireless charging finally that too will be a shakeup in the industry. Full screen devices will be the trend that will be set and Qi wireless charging will be popular for all devices. Apple always does this shit to the tech industry even when they are not the first ones to have done it.

why lcd over amoled?

>selfie camera

Kill yourself, normie

Burn-in

I just watched MKBHD's V30 top 5 features.

I was waiting for the Pixel II but I am actually thinking about going for the V30 as soon as it releases. I currently have a Note 4, and it's showing its age.

Why does everyone keep telling me to buy the Mi Mix over the Mi Max 2, the Max 2 does everything I need it to and my hands are big enough for it so why should I spend twice as much money?

still enjoying my thicc oukitel k10000. 4hrs of screentime too

Get the Mi Max 2 then

any reason to buy anything but Pixel?

>HMD removed Japanese locale from the new Nokia models
literally why
it's in the vanilla android 7, so why specifically remove it
this just makes my weeb scribbles use the wrong chink forms

Blackberry keyone

>speed
Good
There are a few fuck ups far and few

>battery
God tier
Currently at 57 percent over 14 hours with 4 hours and 7 minutes

>glitches
None so far

>would you recommend?
Yes if you can get over the price tag

>Professor talked about The Untouchables and Highlander yesterday in class
>I wake up today, with a hangover, get breakfast and turn on the tv
>Highlander is about to start
>Open Netflix app
>Notification saying The Untouchables is now available
I lost the battle against the botnet

Why shouldn't I get the Umidigi Crystal?
The only downside I see is the lack of home/back/menu buttons on the bottom, but I can't find them on any other phone in that category.

You probably love those huge bezels anyway so no.

Wow, did they change the TV programming schedule just for you?

>Umidigi
shit comany and your phone will break apary in 3 months.

>Umidigi
>Mediatek
That should be enough reason not to get it

Still using an old good YP2.
Snap 801 is an owen, but besides that - not bad.

Running lineage Os on my Nexus 6p , pretty decent btw

Yes it's like the truman show

wait for the mi mix 2

Is Motorola G5 plus the best in $300 and below range?
If there are better, please tell me, my first time buying a smartphone which will be tomorrow.

Honor 8 is currently $279 on Newegg. Or you could get a LeEco LePro 3 (SD821, 4gb/64gb and 4000mah battery) for $232 off Amazon

Lg v30, watch this
youtu.be/JiL-EvmUEnM
I don't even care if it's a shill this phone looks so fucking good

Do phone VPNs usually

Can i set clover mute somehow? Don't really want blast whatever mod embbed flash accidentally in a public place. Or porn.

why is the xperia x compact such a CUTE phone???

>6.2 inches
It's just too big. I'd like to stay below 5.5".

What about the doogee mix? doogee.cc/detail/mix-series-bezel-less-smartphone/106
And the bluboo S1: bluboo.hk/product/bluboo-s1
I also foud this : micromaxinfo.com/mobile-phones/smartphones/canvas-mobiles/canvas-infinity
It's not out yet but I love it even if it's a bit large (5.7").
Basically I want a cheap bezel-less phone, that's all.

Doogee has only a 720p display, software issues and terrible cameras. Maze Alpha or the Bluboo is probably a better choice

>His phone isn't automatically charged to 80% for maximum battery life

How long do you guys usually keep your smartphones for?

If I bought an S8, is it possible to remove all samsung default shit & Bullshit bixby with root?

S7 / V20 / 3T?

I'm getting spam from +796XXXXXXXX numbers in Viber. Is there a more effective way to block them all other than modifying the database and blocking all possible combinations of numbers in the range (I assume wildcards aren't supported)?

Until planned obsolescence kicks in :^)

But being at 100% is maximum battery life, silly.

good if you want to kill your batteries i guess

is there a (chink)phone similar to the sharp aquos crystal that works in western europe networks?

I've been looking around and I can't find a custom ROM for the huawei y5 II.
Is the bootloader locked?

No. Why would you buy a S8?

>getting less mileage out of his batteries
>for fear of getting less mileage of them in the longer term
