Amerifats, are you ready for price of anything that contains semiconductors, everything from iPhone to cars to missiles, to rise by 3~15% in the next 12 months?

>Amerifats, are you ready for price of anything that contains semiconductors, everything from iPhone to cars to missiles, to rise by 3~15% in the next 12 months?

this is what gooks actually believe

faggot

its true thought, everything sillicon is almost made in korea.
not even china

let the shitshow begin
I'll get the memes and webms ready

>3%
I think we'll manage

Bump. This is important.

Japan makes better semiconductors, cars, electronics etc

korea is just a shitty and cheap japan

>everything sillicon is almost made in korea.

lol

Good. When do we get Zenith back again?

No it's not

Zenith was bought up by LG for its HDTV-related patent portfolio.

Exactly. LG is Korean, when does Zenith come back to us?
I recently came across a Zenith computer from '82, manual is comfy and incredibly detailed (to the pinout level in some cases)

When the average wage and labor standards in the U.S. falls to Chinese level, you might get your low-end electronics manufacturing back.

Based GEOTUS as always

Trump knows what he's doing.

There are only 4 companies on planet earth that can make the grade of chips required for modern systems. These are TSMC (Taiwan), GlobalFoundries(Dubai), Intel and Samsung. Samsung and Intel are basically the top 2, and it's expected that both Samsung and Intel will buy out the other 2 remainders including that shady Dubai holding corp.

This is Trump letting least best Korea know "Fuck you I'll tax the shit out of Samsung and force you to open a factory here" because he wants a cut of that global monopoly.

Pro tip: TSMC is worth more than Intel as of late 2016. Intel can't buy out either TSMC or GF. Samsung, which has weird holding structure, can't do stock-swap to buy companies, so something as large as TSMC or GF is out of reach.

Basically, stop writing retarded fan-fiction for our precious senile orange man's "4D Chess" meme.

You provide absolutely no evidence to backup your claims. Stop letting your hatred for trump cloud your judgement. You come off stupid.

TSMC and GF cannot produce the nm scale of either Intel or Samsung. They are the two true leaders and once they figure out the power req both GF and TSMC will be delegated to making chips for toasters and irrelevant in the future of silicon mfg game. They already are irrelevant basically just they persist because crappy, imperative programmed shitty devices have flooded the earth for a few years.

>I provide no evidence for my bullshit proposition, but you must provide hard evidence to show my bullshit is bullshit

kys

>point with no evidence
>counterpoint with no evidence
you're both retarded

And you're retarded for pointing out that they're retarded.

>This is Trump letting least best Korea know "Fuck you I'll tax the shit out of Samsung and force you to open a factory here" because he wants a cut of that global monopoly.

Samsung already has a massive factory (the second largest one they have in the world) in Austin, Texas fabbing shit for Apple, Qualcomm, and Nvidia.

And samsung will build the biggest, most beautiful factory in the UNITED STATES because we are the only country that truly matters.

Intel can't into 7nm and their 10nm will be shit, and GloFo has their paws on IBMs Nazi 7nm.

>one of the highest wages to workers
No one with a brain will build any factories in US, lol.

They still import a lot of their devices though, Trump has been working on this for a while cnet.com/news/trump-samsung-twitter-tweet-manufacturing-factory/

This is Trump's playbook, find some enterprise closely entwined our outright owned by a state and then leverage them to force manufacturing in the US instead of their own countries. He can get away with this because the US is still the biggest market.

Yes there's a big middle class market in China or Yuropoor, but regulations are brutal in Yuropoor and nobody likes to deal with China, they are Trump on steroids and there's zero legal resources there to protect yourself, there still is in the US a judge can overthrow a gov decision but not in China.

You're just as cancerous as the Sup Forumsacks that shat up this board and you're not helping.

Samsung's largest customer, at country level, is China, not the United States.

For it to make sense for Samsung to build a massive factory in the U.S., U.S. and China must enter into trade agreement where China will tax semiconductor exports from the U.S. less than semiconductor exports from S. Korea.

Currently, exports from S. Korea is taxed lower in China than exports from the U.S.

Paradoxically, the only way for Trump to get high-tech manufacturing to increase beyond internal U.S. consumption level is to sign an FTA with China.

TECHNOLOGY

Not really true anymore.

Japan does make some good cars still, still make the best discrete capacitors and some other components there, but the majority of the best electronic stuff is made in South Korea now by the likes of LG and Samsung.
Sony and Canon still have a place in the camera sensor market though.

big if true

>This is Trump letting least best Korea know "Fuck you I'll tax the shit out of Samsung and force you to open a factory here" because he wants a cut of that global monopoly.
>samsung dumps the tax onto the american companies
GJ Trump.

i hope it's true because im tired of everyone and their mother walking around with their faces glued to their new iphones

fucking hate millennials so much i swear to god

They make more money in the US though because China requires more bribes than opening a concrete company in NYC. They may do more business in China, but overall profit is all US market.

Everybody wants in the US market because it actually is the most "free" in terms of not having to bribe people to sell there. Even in UK/commonwealth, you have to pay a gigantic tax and follow a billion regulations to do anything. Germany and EU require something like 2 years of negotiations just to agree to a framework for discussions, look how long it took Canada to get an EU trade agreement.

Sony is still king with camera sensors, fuck gookshit
t. millenial virgin

is this the same kind of thinking that anti-net neutrality posters have too?

i've noticed it's mainly only females that do that. Females are obsessed with themselves anyway so it's really no surprise. Now they have portable handheld computers so they can check their facebook likes and instagram comments every second.

im gen X

idk im not anti-net neutrality so don't ask me

possibly, but i see it in a lot of males as well, there are tons of people who will never lay their eyes off their phones even during conversations. and your typical starbucks socialist has about 8 apple products and needs to show them off constantly

Pointing out society's overdependence on technology isn't equivalent to criticizing net neutrality.
They're two entirely different things.

>Sup Forums hates the NAND cartel
>Sup Forums hates breaking a trade agreement that benefits only the NAND cartel

>Amerifats, are you ready for price of anything that contains semiconductors, everything from iPhone to cars to missiles, to rise by 3~15% in the next 12 months?

Increase prices by fucking 1000%

It'll be a good thing. We'll open up semiconductor manufactories here instead of in asia. Then we'll get even lower prices than before and even better hardware.

Competition isn't a bad thing, and it's high time we had industries back in the us instead of overseas.

Camera sensors are a tiny portion of the overall technology market.

>shallow, frivolous people you wouldn't want cognizant of anyway withdrawing from reality when in public

I hate fads too but I cannot for one second see how this is a bad thing.

t. average American's understanding of economics

Not if with trump- its WHEN!

>implying US manufacturing hasn't been at its highest point in the past decade
>implying once the corporate tax rate is closer to 15% people won't rush back here

You're the only one with a semi-intelligent response however I think trade between china and the US will change bigly under trump administration. No more devaluation, etc

Really stupid move but not at all surprising coming from rump

i bet u suck dick lmao

big when true

Do you know how much stuff Samsung makes?

I support our president.

we should be making that stuff in the US

Free trade benefits consumers, the whole purpose is to lower the price of goods. It does have the potentially undesirable side effect of driving domestic goods out of the market but consumers just get more affordable options.

>americans actually believe this

DANAL BPLUMPF

>cheap electronics and high unemployment
or
>expensive electronics and low unemployment

Can't you greasy neckbeards make one sacrifice for the good of the United States?

none of us are allowed to get jobs, idiot.

these jobs are for retarded out of work boomers. we're still slaves.

politics are a lie. it's all a show.

The problem is that nobody is going to move their factory to the U.S. just so that they can sell their product to Americans 12% cheaper.

It's just going to be 12% more expensive for Americans without any added jobs.

would rather keep the cheap chink/gook/etc shit

>Amerifats, are you ready for price of anything that contains semiconductors, everything from iPhone to cars to missiles, to rise by 3~15% in the next 12 months?
Americans are stupid and have too much money, the least they could do while screwing themselves over on an international scale is let everyone else profit from it.

yes bravo donald! raise tariffs on electronics when they're already trading at hideously inflated prices and piss off key asian players right when war with nk is more likely than ever before! it's doubly brilliant when you take into account that glofo and tsmc will be bought out soon because as;dh5o3534jfghawh34o;a;sdf. really looking forward to micron's memory monopoly in particular. brilliant stuff.

...

Give me the cheap shit, not my problem that other people are out of work.

You're not going to get either one.

Free trade agreements are a good thing and trying to remove them and revert back to tariffs on goods is ultimately just going to backfire by harming the economy. It is better to invest in markets that are strong so displaced workers can get new jobs in those areas instead and then they can afford to benefit from cheaper goods.

Look at all these Benedict Arnolds.

I bet you all go to Berkeley and wave communist flags while screaming Russia hacked the election.

Sup Forums is a reddit colony

This is not a technology thread. Saged and reported.

>point out flaws in argument
>"hurr you must be a traitor, you traitor cunt, you retard libururururruruurl, herp derp"

>this is going to create jobs in the USA
Not fucking likely.

The US wants to be Brazil 2.0 it seems.

>free trade and not-overpriced goods are for traitors and commies!
what alternate universe did you come from

Unemployment is already low, you cuckold.

Economists almost universally agree free trade is good for a reason.

>my fault the fags couldn't get into STEM or another money degree
oh librul brainwashing centers or someshit right?

Dead meme

AMD is made in america so i don't give a fuck

...

At least get some posture, Trump!

> everything from iPhone

The iPhone is not made in Korea, it's made in China.

Even if some components are made in Korea, Apple ships finished phones from China.

>cheaper goods.
For the record "cheaper" doesn't necessarily mean good.
Countries like China are known for dumping their shit quality goods here (everything from defective steel to electronics)
But hey, at least it's cheap...

Good. What have those prudish, scrawny gooks ever done for US

not on Sup Forums, faggot

lol?

Malaysia, America?

Fuck Fuck Fuck. I was considering buying a new computer. Do I do it now?

Countries will be less willing to join with the US on these agreements in the future because they wont be able to trust the US to uphold them.

I don't know where he gets the idea that the US is losing money on these deals we get cheap goods and they get money. They also buy our goods, they just don't buy the same amount. Korea also has a much smaller population and is not really capable of buying the same amount of goods. Most countries would struggle to match the US 1:1 on trade.

drumpf is probably going to chicken out like he did many times before
at the end of the day he's just a globalist

What if we made some kind of guidelines that goods had to follow like for health, safety, and environmental things and if goods do not fit within the guidelines they get confiscated at the border? We could call them "regulations."

>korea
>me, an intellectual, knows all the tech I care about comes from China and Taiwan.
kek

>Cletus thinks making a modern cpu is the same as making spare parts for his rusty 30 year old f-150
Okk....

Woops

hey kid
you like trump

The crappy imports from China- this has been going on for years, even with regulations. Don't be so naive.

Japan actually does this to curtail imports of shitty crap from China.

If you go to a store in Japan, there are still low-cost "Made in Japan" household goods because once you set the minimum quality bar high, Japanese "light manufacturing" (cheap consumer goods usually made of plastic like utensils, toys, etc.) is still competitive against China.

>disliking taxes/tariffs is communism

We're going to build that ourselves now. American workers making electronics for Americans. Fuck the rest of the world.

>from germany and then send to malasya
yeah america

thats is because you are fine with that cheap shit and they still selling it, china is pretty capable of making non shit products at affordable prices.
see /csg/

>mfw dumbfuck Sup Forumsacks actually believed drumpf was going to 'drain the swamp' of industry lobbyists but ended up appointing scott pruitt to head the EPA

>low unemployment
Do you have to be retarded to be American? No factory will break even in the US without massive automation because of how much higher are wages.
At best if Samsung doesn't decide to say fuck you and sell tariff'd goods you'd get a shiny new factory with 5 employees.

>implying US manufacturing hasn't been at its highest point in the past decade
Yeah, the decade after a massive financial crisis. Still a fraction of what it was at 15 years ago
>implying once the corporate tax rate is closer to 15% people won't rush back here
You understand labor accounts for 60% of corporate expenses on average right?

>when the goalposts move from Korea to China
Hello Chaim.

>implying American companies manufacture shit in S. Korea where labor cost is as high as Europe
