No ports.
Followed by cloud-only operation

a headphone jack

Bendable phones

I don't get why people would want a piece of glass as their phone.

Hopefully replacing them with smartwatches of some variety.

dragon dildo attachment

Even dumber idea than a glass phone

This
Most servers are now in cloud shit. Next is phones then laptops and desktops

Apple will go one step further and remove the display entirely. The phone will be voice commands only, and it will read things back to you instead of displaying them. Truly, an innovative forward-thinking design.

seconded

Wireless charging.

>It just charges, automagically.

Why the fuck would you want a bendable phone? To make it easier to shove up your ass?

Yes, everything bendable, foldable, collapsable, etc. is not meant to be more compact, its just so you can shove it up your ass

Epic joke / uprated!

I know 3 people with those watches

They are all colossal assholes that just use their iphones anyway.

dumbphones

Greater durability out of a consumer-level device. We are already seeing it with flagship-tier phones getting shatterproof glass. Hopefully, stuff like the Samsung Active or the CAT ruggedized smartphone are going to be the standard soon.

home button sold seperately

I'd like a good operating system, they're all garbage atm

>tfw all new innovations are boring, all you care about is full Linux kernel hardware support

>tfw a fully functional open source smartphone ain't never gonna happen

yeah cloud-only is coming.
limitless hardware just streamed to your phone.

Like onlive but with porn

Once they perfect a roll-up screen, I hope to see a less bulky version of this.

That's some mighty autism you've got there bud

...

blackout glasses which film in front of you then stream it back to your eyes with interactive overlays.

that's neat but looks too delicate and fragile

I just want something that won't break when I drop it and doesn't need a charge more than once a week

Smaller screens, big detachable batteries.

Jk because Apple is run by fucking assholes. So we'll get bigger screens, similar battery life, thinner so it snaps in half.

neat

it's hardly an innovation but someone's gotta put e-ink style technology on this shit so phones can be used outdoors instead of in your bed

next year there will be e-ink technology capable of 4096 colors and 20hz refresh
this won't be enough for people that use their phone as media devices but hopefully someone makes a phone for people that need a god damn phone

Twss

Right? But it seems to be intentional, the same way no console "has a good OS".

I think phone innovation will be stale for a decade or so. It's pretty much reached the heights of a small sized 2D platform.

I hate the normie smartphone epidemic

>muh bezels
>muh edged screens
>muh all glass look

what is wrong with having something to hold onto and something that won't break too easy?

A dildo attachment.

Izivibe

The Moto Phones don't follow any of those 3 memes

Nah, most people still have shit internet and mobile data plans are still capped and expensive for them.

So having more cloud is not gonna change much how people use their devices.

Internet infrastructure doesn't change overnight.

2cyb4me

Retina scanners to complete all the biometrics

>4:19pm

what did they mean by this?

This will happen, but for accesibility reasons. There are many scenarios in which using a device fully capable of voice only operation is more than adequate. If I were quadraplejic / ALS patient or blind I surely love having one of such devices.
MY SIDES
Sadly google glass and their dumb marketing ways scared the market. It will be years or even decades before someone will try this again. But AR are here to stay in industrial, medical, military and educational settings

Underrated. I have a feeling society is going to start feeling a bit of tech fatigue in the coming years.

>Wireless charging.
That's already a thing

Every attempt people make at these look like dumb cyberpunk cosplay shit.
I just want a pair of generic dark/mirrored glasses I can look at shitposts on without displaying that to everyone around me

Honestly, the only "smart" part of my phone I enjoy is youtube or iheart radio playing out my cars audio while driving instead of using radio, and syncing with my caldav calender. Then maybe email/telegram, but really I dont need that, I can use a small laptop for that.

I guess the camera too..

But really its just so fucking botnet that is the issue.

...

not on apple products

siri only phones

Thinner (thanks to apple), wider (thanks to hollywood), more resistant (due gorilla glass), until it gets too sharp to hold and you have to put a handle on the bottom.
Then it will be a sword.

AR will be here before VR. At least that's something.

Drop resistant and anti-slip plastic or alloy unibody.

AR and VR will never catch on. it looks retarded and gets in the way. only dweebs from here would ever put that shit on and walk around

Already exists on newer Samsung flagships.

Bigger, faster, and stronger too.

Not a thing, only hipster fags are falling for the meme.

The real thing is going to be deeper integration of speech interface once nlp and speech recognition hit the next level.

After that: mixed reality replacing the phone screen as interface. Think Google glass on steroids, but we are talking 5-10 years until technology will fit into something that is really wearable. Hololens is too big.

Yeah! good answer!
Now, do us a favor, return to the sandbox and play with the other special children

the dex system that samsung has, turning your phone into a desktop computer. Beyond that probably better AI like an always on personal assistant, think jarvis or friday.

This right here. Earth Final Conflict was a great series, and has some awesome looking tech

AR contact lenses is the future, when that happens, AR will be a multi bill dollar business

Porn watching in public never was so thrilling

The tech community waking the fuck up.
Full GNU+Systemd+Linux OS smartphones without bullshit becoming popular at least among them.
Finally sanity in the smartphone market.

One can dream, right?

Hot swappable batteries with wireless charging pads built in so you can keep the extra battery on the phone while charging and both of them charge

I just want my smartphone software to update with apt or dnf in a timely manner outside of the control of incompetent hardware manufacturers.

People will realize that every single design innovation by Applel in last 10 years was shit and revert their stupid changes.

>3 days of active usage battery life
>doesnts break when dropped
>headphone jack

Are you retarded, vr is already here.

Are YOU retarded? VR is shit right now, and it's not going anywhere for a long time unless a paradigm shifts occurs in the Valley or a revolutionary technology is introduced that makes VR more viable beyond muh gaymes.

AR will see faster and better results before fully fledged TRUE VR does.

fpbp
I can imagine in the distant future you will only have 1 or 2 devices that connect to the botnet.
Minimum physical hardware and fiber optic all over the world

>Minimum physical hardware and fiber optic all over the world
Maybe it's fate telling me to get into the cable lining industry. I'll be making mad dosh 20 years down the line.

if Apple can pull off that constant background wireless charging in your room thing I'll shut up about their choices for at least 2 years

i hope they remove volume buttons, i never use them.

Ask any electrical engineer what he thinks about wireless electricity.

Youre gonna turn your room into an induction furnace and magnetic fields like that classify workers expised to them go to retirement early.

Holodecks when?

a USB port so you can program vibrations for your iDildo with an app

first post worst post

lets get 40 gbps data transfer before we go ahead and kill off ports.

>What will the next big innovation in smartphone design be?

youtube.com/watch?v=TrXBEuG7I3A

Motherfucking plastic-like phones that will bend.

But what if it was one-way glass??

>smartphone design
>innovation
Hah nice one. We live in an age where phones have "selfie camera" as its selling point. Normalfag cancer has ruined phones. An age where a headphone jack is considered a feature, where people rejoice when phone lasts 7 hours. This is exactly why I stopped following smartphone trends, they're exact copy of each other with different labels on top. Admit, it there is no innovation, only gimmicks to impress normalfags.

It's a prank Sup Forums did a while ago.

that would suck, i always use a usb to transfer gigs videos that i took.. cloud shit is slow af

A phone in a watch that you use with your bluetooth headset to make calls.

When you need to send a text or go to social media or do anything you need a screen for you get a super thin phone-size tablet that connects to your watch wirelessly for data

Whatever happened to the days that we needed smaller and more portable phones?

At some point we can get a headset that dials and receives data which can be connected to a phone size pad/screen for social media or texting/internet/smartphone functions

No screen at all, the interface is delivered through augmented reality via chips connected to your visual nerves or even to the brain directly.

man, people defending wireless power are the ones that doesnt know shit about physics.
I cringed so hard when I first saw a cellphone with a "wireless" charger.
How difficult is for a user to plug a fucking cable?

They will be small enough to fit in the pocket of your pants

iphone shuffle

>Sadly google glass and their dumb marketing ways scared the market
you are retarded who wants to be a mass surveillance cyborg walking around talking to his glasses! just total fucktards

Instead people are mass surveillance cyborg walking around talking to their phone. No difference except phone is less convenient.

looks like a fucking bondage kink paddle for spanking cheap brazilian sluts.

"OK GOOGLE CALL PIZZA HUT"

>ohmahgawd call 911
>Sorry my phone is halfway through recompiling Gentoo

dumb frogposter

>not knowing the definition of "cloud"
All online servers have always been in the cloud.

Don't worry, they'll "innovate" it into their stuff.

kek

Neuro Linker

Then you might as well make the back silver colored.

But then how would they force the purchase of a new one?

Please be joking
