>greatest man in all of existence
>is, in fact French

Julius Caesar is the greatest man of all time, user.

Napoleon is the GOAT of the modern era.

>Some random dictator who ruined the Roman Republic and allowed that Augustus shithead become emperor
>great
Caesar is like Cobain: overrated for dying in the middle of his fame.

Now, Cicero on the other hand...

The greatest french ever was Charlemagne

*karl der große

aren't there like 100 julius caesars?

More like Karl sa Grauter, Karl ther Graute or something like that.

Sorry ? What are you sayin', Australia ?

literally who

>allowed that Augustus shithead to form the greatest empire in human history

The guy who buttfucked protestants, nobles and habsburgers

Good ol' times...

>Not worshipping the borderline father of modern science

hes so based that, they teacher about him in our schools

>tax collecting leech

Got what he deserved

He was born 3 month after Corsica became French.
The history is sometime very hazardous.

He spend all his youth to French schools, and later in military schools, tho.

3 month before, and this "Italian" (but Corsican)
maybe be just a farmer or something.

you are all wrong
im the greatest frenchman

>greatest ever frenchman
>some people think he's italian
>be actually moorish
AYOOOO

Greatest man of all time incoming

Who is this unknown fedora wearing white male ?

Hope you're kidding

Dans quel sens ?

"olol il koné pa robospier" ou "olol il em bi1 s1 loui" ?

>allowed that Augustus shithead to ruin the republic that made Rome the greatest
The problem with empires with absolute power is: as soon as some potato get in the throne, things go downhill. And the Empire had far more Caligulas than Trajans.

>noble scum

off with his head

Excuse me ?

Hell, I don't even have meme pics about this meme Occitan identity...

>he actually knows what I'm talking about

Anyway. Do you mind using English instead? It's plain uneducated to use language to cull out people from the discussion.

(Not that your discussion about how one took the other for potato and the other 'ooohhh evry1 is of potato" is relevant, but still.)

>Now, Cicero on the other hand...
goddamn, i hope you are baiting, i am mad

...sure

>Italian
I want this meme to die

>Born on an island that was never, NEVER, part of anything that could be called Italy
>Given by Genoa to France on the condition that France would wipe away part of Genoa's debt
>The Corsicans rose up in protest as an independent Corsican Republic
>This Corsican Republic was smashed by the French rather rapidly
>Before Napoleon was born
>Napoleon's father was actually a pro-French collaborator, which is why his "literally WHO?" son was allowed to attend the most prestigious military academy in France

By ius soli he was French.
By ius sanguis he was Corsican, or an inhabitant of an entirely defunct nation that did not exist. And even then he would keep fighting for France even during the existence of the shortlived Anglo-Corsican Kingdom.

>B-But muh ethnicity
"Ethnically" Italian means at the very least three ethnicities, just like "Ethnically" French spans multiple diverse ethnic groups. What makes Corsicans "Ethnically" French?

>"M-Muh language"
That makes the Bretons English?

>"B-But he spoke French with a funny accent"
Up to 75% of France didn't speak French at all (and until its unification 95% of Italy didn't speak Florentine ie. modern day Italian. Italys nobility communicated with eachother... in French!).

Garibaldi, Italy's national hero, is a lot more French than Napoleon is Italian. At least Nice is part of France.

that you're both cuckshits and surrender

...why do Finns hate us ? We don't give two fucks about you

More like trying to spark a discussion than proper baiting.

IMHO Cicero was the best politician the Roman Republic ever produced; not only for his deeds but also for his writings. He thought that Caesar getting too much power would eventually fuck with the Senate and ruin the Republic; after the events happened, we might say he was quite right. ruin with the Senate and by that with the Republic; after the events, we might say he was the guy who knew the most how shit worked there.

I hate everyone equally.
But hate is such a strong word. I prefer not to use it.

Oh, I understand

>go fuck yourself, my friend :^)
>missing the point that hard
Reread what I wrote.

>greatest ever Christian

Mental note: if I ever crucify someone, I'll make sure to have vultures eating his corpse, otherwise some fucking hobo will steal it and a bunch of retards will think he came back to live as a zombie.

Best Frenchman coming

literally did nothing wrong

Go to bed, Aurelian

>le 'i wrote BRUTAL book' man

>greatest ever Australian
>he's English

Corsicans are way closer, ethnically, linguistically and culturally to Tuscany (and thus to Italy) than to France and they are now so just imagine in 1769.
Nobody is contesting that Napoleon saw himself as French and fought for France and that without France he would have been an unknown guy born in an unknown island, but his Italian/Italic roots are undeniable.
> Nice is French
Nice was always culturally and ethnically Italian and got heavily Frenchified after 1859

Absolutely based

Lavoisier is overrated though

THIS

Into the trash it goes

>I was edgy before it was cool !

Je sais, je sais, dieu bénisse Richelieu

kek

ayyyy lel, what a fucking scumbag

>only time France gets its shit together
>led by an Italian

You can't make this shit up!

You realize he was born in Ajaccio, which was under Genoese rule until 1755, and effectively still under Genoese rule as of 1768. The French officially annexed Corsica in 1780.

Napoleon was born in 1769. Also, his father:
>He was born in Ajaccio, Corsica as the youngest of three children. The Corsican Buonapartes were descended from minor Italian nobility of Tuscan origin, who had come to Corsica from Liguria in the 16th century.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlo_Buonaparte

Napoleon is hardly French in anything but documents.

>born in France
>spoke France
>educated in French military school

c'mon m8, not even here we say Napoleon was Italian.

>Napolean(corsican)

Brazilian knowing anything about french pronunciation.

Corsica falls into France's hand 1 year before Napoleon was born, french king refuses its independence, so, he was born in France.

Savoy spoke Savoyard and the language got wipped out like ton of others during the 3rd Republic

It says in his bio.

Corsica was technically sold to France, but they still remained sovereign and resisted French rule until the year that Napoleon was born: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_conquest_of_Corsica

And by the way, Napoleon was a supporter of Corsican nationalism in his earlier career. French people are probably not taught that little part about him in their schools: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napoleon#Early_career

>Upon graduating in September 1785, Bonaparte was commissioned a second lieutenant in La Fère artillery regiment.[19][note 4] He served in Valence and Auxonne until after the outbreak of the Revolution in 1789, and took nearly two years' leave in Corsica and Paris during this period. At this time, he was a fervent Corsican nationalist, and wrote to Corsican leader Pasquale Paoli in May 1789, "As the nation was perishing I was born. Thirty thousand Frenchmen were vomited on to our shores, drowning the throne of liberty in waves of blood. Such was the odious sight which was the first to strike me.

Even down here in Texas we learn about him in AP European history.

Colbert is also based

He was a Paoliboo for a lot of his youth and wrote lots of melodramatic letters and such advocating Corsican nationalism

I am reading Andrew Roberts' Napoleon; A life

i remember a quote Napoleon said during his exile about his heritage

>Napoleon proudly proclaimed his Italian heritage, declaring, “I am of the race that founds empires.”

Case closed.
