Back inside for the winter

What are some small screens i can buy for a PC?

If I Bitor two unsigned integers will the result always be an unsigned integer?

Anything at goodwill

Why does Imgur upload preview jam my Android? How on earth is there nothing about it in google?

can you actually not play webms at all on IOS without downloading a player and pasting the link?

I need a decent font where lower case L and 1 can easily be distinguished

my bios has no option to change my cpu voltage, how can i change my cpu voltage then?

Your motherboard was not designed for it then, what motherboard?

no idea, i don't know much about pc parts / hardware. how do i find it?
The pc itself is an hp phoenix (not envy phoenix).
can i change the voltage with software?

Download Speccy, check motherboard.

says its a
pegatron corporation 2ad5

>Exposed MOSFETs and VRMs
No wonder it doesn't let you change voltages manually.

That is not a overclocking motherboard, it is Z75 chipset but not for overclocking that much.

Is there any way to hide scrollbars on firefox? The extensions i use are not avaiable anymore due to web extensions

oh well.
I can change the ghz without the voltage though, is that a good idea?

Eventually you will hit a frequency that will be unstable, so just reduce your speed by 100MHz, try increasing it little by little and run a stress test for a while when you do.

will do, thanks for all the info

This one works fine for me
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/hidescrollbars/

Use Prime95.

If you cant boot your PC you can remove a internal button battery inside your PC to reset your BIOS to default so it can boot again.

roboto

Dropped an external hard drive from about waist high, when I plug it in the motor still turns on and I can clearly hit the disk spinning, but after a few seconds there's two high pitched clicking noises and then it stops.

What can I do to fix this and salvage the data somehow?

>I can clearly hit the disk spinning
*I can clearly HEAR the disk spinning

dead

What's the best external I can get for $160 or less? 3tb is optimal but 2tb is fine too.

Good job annon. Take it like a man and move on.

Is it normal for a mobo to just shut the entire computer down and stop working if you just wiggle a USB cable? I'm RMA the board now but it has me totally bafffled. Is it a short?

We are not the same.

"This add-on will stop working when Firefox 57 arrives"

Denial will only make this harder.

I inherited a computer from a relative, and there's a partitioned drive for Debian, but I don't have any options for booting it up before Windows starts. Any ideas? I've tried getting into the bios, but I think I'm locked out of it (Sony Vaio, btw)

>using a cucked phone OS
You deserve everything you get m8. Simply switch to android or, you know, upload them to your computer

EasyBCD

What browser is the mi UI browser based on?

Thanks

How in hell am I supposed to make shit scale right on my surface book? Using Gnome 3 with scaling at 2 I get windows that look ok but the top bar and some text still looks awful.

The display does not seem to have an option for the correct resolution.

I use Firefox with Ghostery, NoScript, exploding cookies, and unlock origin.
With the new Firefox update around the corner should I just switch to chrome? Do they have alternatives to the add-ons I listed?

Yes, but ghostery has been Fuck No Tier since forever.

So it's worth switching to Chrome? I heard the NoScript equivalent is SafeScript. What's the ublock equivalent?

What screen is Jeff using in pic related?

That's the opposite of what I said. Fuck chrome. And ghostery. Ghostery pretty much just does some of what noscrip and ublock do while also selling your information to ad compaines. Noscript and ublock have already been ported. Cookie autodelete just lacks the ability to clear localcash

So NoScript has been ported to the new Firefox already? That's the biggest thing I was worried for.

And yeah I'd rather not use Chrome.

How can I get someone to DDoS me? I want to make sure my server's DDoS mitigation is legit before going from 1 month payment to 1 year.

>How can I get someone to DDoS me?
You pay them. Botnet As A Service
Stop excepting free things you stupid millennial.

I HAD A GALAXY S4, LG G4, ONEPLUS ONE AND ONEPLUS X AND THEN I FUCKING BROKE THE PIECE OF SHIT AND GOT AN IPHONE CAUSE IT WAS 200 DOLLARS OFF CONTRACT FAGGOT I DONT LIKE IT EITHER

>"my server"

It'll be there by deadline anyway. People are mostly pissed about losing customization shit like Also the custom downloaders are eating shit.

Any porn stars that look like Callisto ?

Closest I can remember is Sky Lopez...

>Holy Planned Obsolescence Batman!

is working part-time as a programmer or any other kind of online work while being a student (not a CS or STEM student though) doable?
I need money, but I don't want to leave the house for work

i applied for a job last week and missed their call today, and then got an email asking when i would be available for a phone interview. should i acknowledge that i missed their call or just ignore that it ever happened?

i was thinking just "hey xxxxx, apologies for missing your call today - Friday morning works for me" or something

this is for a 50 employee webdev place

Possibly an HP ZR30W

>I don't want to leave the house for work
I urge you to reconsider. Bad habits you form now will stick with you.
Also, not for programming really. Even most CS students are worth fuck all on a real project. I don't know about other things like mechanical turk or translation or user testing services though.

What is this bullshit

nooo! ugly chinese girl is not allowed to make fun of me

That's the output of the ping utility. It tells you how much latency you have to that server and some other information.

>arch
>oracle
>what is this shit
A pedo OS on a cuck vm emulator.

I was waiting for this post.

Ah makes sense then.

it's merely a practical thing
I live far from everything and would have to spend a lot of time traveling just to get to work
It's enough traveling ~2 hours or uni twice a day

ping keeps going forever by default, hit "ctrl+c" to break (quit)

You weren't at the phone when it rang. Go for your example and bring it up in person casually if you really want.

About routers and openwrt:
- What are the pros of having uHTTPd installed?
- Besides unbound dnssec dnscrypt what other security packages would you recommend if I wanted to maximize security?

>About routers and openwrt:

openwrt doesn't get security updates much, don't do anything other than using it as a dumb router. set up another pc for unbound.

It seems like kind of a waste to dedicate a whole x86 system to routing. So you think the only way to have up to date routers is to buy one that's still receiving updates to the stock firmware? Is there any line of capable routers known for getting long term support?

>unbound
>routing
user. Plz. Don't make me laugh. It hurts.

Just switched from doing WinForms with VB to C#

Why does it give me an error in the Design tab when I remove an event handler in the codes? Does this mean that I cannot remove the handler once it's been placed? That's fucking retarded holy shit.

Bah. You'd think there'd be one half decent manufacturer that would appeal to a niche market by making the router equivalent of the Nexus line. I guess if something is too complex for a kickstarter and too useful for the industry to allow, we're all just fucked.

My point was unbound doesn't do routing, nor does your DNS server need to be on the same box as your router. Nor does your DHCP server.
Also a simple search for "pfsense box" came up with pfsense.org/products/
Also I think ubiquity does what you want.

Thoughts on BenQ GL2250HM?
I could probably throw in 20$ more but not every monitor is available in my country

That mini firewall device is the first reference I've seen to pfsense supporting anything outside x86

explain to a non-tech savvy person what is the botnet is and why should i care about it if i have nothing to hide

I just got a new HDD. I already have a system with Win10 on my SSD.

Is it possible to install Linux on the new HDD without screwing up win10? Do I need to worry about anything in particular?

Why does VeraCrypt take so damn long to verify my password in the boot loader? Is this actually a good sign or did i do something wrong during the encryption process? It basically just sits there for 15-20 seconds or so, truecrypt never did this

The encryption itself also took only like an hour or so for 150gb worth of files, is this normal with a brand spanking new SSD?

Basically what i want to know is whether my shit is secure now or not, i even used a longer password than my previous one with no avenues left open for any dictionary/brute force attacks and such

(I used standard encryption settings, left the PIM empty and moved my mouse around for like 3-4 minutes in that window, which is overkill i know but better safe than sorry)

youtube.com/watch?v=XEVlyP4_11M

There's a couple ways you can do it. Either unplug the ssd during install and have them be 100% separate installations (Your boot menue chooses you os) or let linux/grub control what you boot to. You can also let window be in charge, but I wouldn't recommend it.

posted this in last two threads but got no replies

someone here must know

i pirated an audio book and now have a folder of mp3 files to listen to

what software do i use on my desktop pc to listen to it and save my place for next time?

if anyone can recommend an android phone app as well maybe something that can sync with my pc that would be awesome

Heh, apparently to the chief dev it's a feature and not a bug

sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/tickets/46/

I just hope it won't take longer and longer to verify as time goes on/the ssd fills up and just stays at those 10-15 secs, otherwise i'm going to decrypt and throw on good old truecrypt again

*according to

Damn it still early af lel

I really hate to ask questions about rice, but can anyone tell me why certain applications won't follow the customization rules I set? Is there a way to override an applications theme to force colors or something? I can't read Pinta's menus, for example. They remain black despite setting them to green, but keepass will change to whatever color I want.

Why does Xena look like my older cousin a bit

Are you like the same person that starts every /sqt/? do you like live on Sup Forums? also do you have a screencap of like every xena warrior frame?

>plugged in, not charging
what do?

I want to replace left Monitor for either for a TV or a 32 inch Monitor.

Which one should I get if I only planning to watch Movies/Weeaboshit and some minor gaming in the bed

Is buying a used mining card worth it if it's half the price and STILL under warranty?

Well obviously not EVERY frame of the lost episode, only the leaked shit.

A few possible causes, in order of most likely to least likely:
>The outlet you're using is bad. Try a new one.
>Something in the chain of outlet plug->transformer{the box you plug the cord into}->input to PC is broken
>The female port on the board is broken or damaged; maybe the pin is bent. I don't know exactly what kind it is.
>The battery is broken in some way; no simple or worthwhile way to fix this.
>OS level issue somewhere in shitdows. Try reinstall/factory reset.
>The electronics responsible for actually charging your battery on the mainboard are broken.

That better be a damn good warranty.

Dammit, she's supposed to inspire a lesbian fetish, not wincest

Is power consumption too much of a problem for using the high performance profile on Windows with an i5 4460?

power consumption is never an issue unless you're running mining rigs.

Nah, I'm just having some weird behavior with software that doesn't like power saving. Rather than keep switching profiles I guess I could just leave it there.

>that doesn't like power saving.
then turn it off. those features are for notebooks.

Would it be a good idea to copy the private key I use for SSH on all my devices? Or I'd better be using multiple ones?

From across the room I recommend a 42 inch. If you never have anybody watching with you, you can go lower, but then I'd just double down on moving the screen closer.

Unique ones + TOTP using 'google authenticator'

learn java + sql > oracle sql > pl/sql or learn c# + sql > sql server > t-sql?

I'm installing two 2TB HDDs in my desktop. I haven't defragged in over a year.

Should I defrag my old drives first, then copy files, or transfer part of my files to the new drive and defrag afterwards?

pic related

transfer then defrag
copying over the files will defrag them.. in theory, ntfs makes little attempt to keep things unfragmented, so chances are the new copies won't be completely unfragmented
however, the fragmentation in the source has no effect on the fragmentation of the target, the files are always read in their logically sequentially, even if they aren't physically sequential (fragmented)
so defragging the source then moving everything off of it won't affect the end result, the copy might be faster, but the defrag will make the whole process slower

Things like gigabyte, nvidia and all those other normie brands tend to have a 3 years to 5 year warranty. So i can't really see how I get screwed? and it's acting funny I can just rma it. But I remember alot of people were doing that before and it was cutting into like companies profits so i'm wondering if maybe they can refuse a refund if they can some how prove it was used for mining. The same way they can refuse refund if you use it for unintended use like scratch my balls or ice hockey.
