what now, Sup Forums?
installed gentoo
Install linux from scratch
Enjoy your computing experience using Gentoo GNU/Linux.
Now do something productive.
>Steam, Opera, Hexchat, Spotify, Skype in Wine, Thunar, Terminal
>715MB
f-fug... that would take like 2GB minimum nowadays. What went wrong, Sup Forums?
>chrome
Christ, is this real
And the screenshot is from 2012 too
>Chrome botnet
>MacBook Pro faggotry
>Linux desktop
>distraction
Sup Forums should change this stupid gentoo meme
>hating productive members of society
typical
install
Linux Mint
watch anime.
kek botnet linux
>productive members of society
Good goy, keep satisfying your employer and maybe a couple of dollars will trickle down to you from the millions he earns from your work.
>Being a marxist
very good goy
>developer of Gentoo uses Macs
>creator of GNOME uses Macs
kek..they're all moving to OSX.
keep compiling
Recompile everything with -funroll-loops.
do you expect a trophy?
"I actually try to avoid using Linux on the desktop"
Even the creator of a once popular Linux distro doesn't use this meme on his desktop.
Hes jaded that he doesn't have more control over Gentoo so using Linux is probably emotionally painful for him.
Disable USE flags you don't need, both globally and per-package
Consider changing to testing: ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~amd64"
Switch to gcc-7.2
Play with overlays
Write a simple ebuild for your local overlay
Read the Gentoo forums and bug tracker. Check out the the commits github.com
Topjej how can anyone defend this?
>falling for any ideology at all
sounds like you like having a leash on you
Reinstall Gentoo
Define productive
Not doing something that can be automated.
enjoy your meme distro op
...
Gets me every time.
LINUXTARDS JUST GOT TOLD
HARD
Meh, he just needs a Unix-like system but he doesn't want to use a different distro other than his Gentoo (distraction), so he uses macOS. Pic related is one of the best developers in the world and he uses Ubuntu.
>Tfw your everything you thought you knew was a lie
>Existence invalidated
>Better go watch anime
Google Ubuntu is unique so it's not really comparable to the shit awful public version.
>Globally sets ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~amd64"
I guess broken software is the new meta
>When installing matters more than actually using a distro
Fucking saved
Install Funtoo you gay
This, do the LFS course then you'll be a linux wizard. Just enjoy your distro from now, gentoo is the comfiest
Have you even used it? Portage might cry about blockers a bit more but there is actually less problems because newer packages generally fix annoying bugs and support more hw. Some of the stable packages are debian-old-old-stable tier and fucking around with ACCEPT_KEYWORDS for single packages is just annoying
This is true for all Linux distros
No it's not you brainlet
Why the fuck is GCC still in 5.4?
Upgraded to 6.4 yesterday but I would want to know whay the fuck aren't pushing that shit right now
Because bunch of packages don't compile correctly. gentoo has a policy not to stabilize stuff like that
Look at the gcc porting TRACKER bugs here
bugs.gentoo.org
Not him but yes it is. There is a lot more talk about distros than about software. Everybody is hoping that once they distrohop to another GNOO/Linox distributiin it suddenly stops being shit.
>26. August 2012
so you stole an old screenshot, so much wow
Chrome is the besto
can someone for the love of chin chin tell me the name of that monitor.
i will post memes for it.
here's a sample.
I know you guys take memes as payments
What's the difference with Gentoo?
>> installed gentoo
>what now, Sup Forums?
Install source mage
Block systemd.
Install systemd
There are better distros to use if you don't mind systemd.
>what now
Suck
Install EFISTUB kernel
Set ACCEPT_KEYWORDS TO ~arch
Add "candy" to FEATURES
If you have a computer you'd use as a home server, install Gentoo there and make it a distcc host
Install layman, gentoolkit and flaggie
There's the HP logo on the top panel, figure out the rest yourself
At least he doesn't watch anime, right?
found it.
i couldnt even see the HP logo
