Is this your first time on Sup Forums?

imagine your distro being so unstable that being able to take a picture of your terminal is an accomplishment worthy of making a thread on Sup Forums about

Alright, show me your sub 300 package, lean, mean, shitposting machine.

I only use windows XP

last time i had to reboot my uptime was 29 days. i updated and rebooted but it couldnt launch lightdm

no clue what broke. tried reinstalling the usual things, tried installing slim. no dice. had to wipe and reinstall

gave me the chance to drop shit i dont use so i went from 500 packages to 390. regardless all the shit, i would change arch for anything, sadly they are forcing me because they are dropping i686. fuck you.

Now post your load counts. Uptime doesn't mean shit if you don't do anything.

>4000MB
Just fucking why? Why did you install the minimalist distro, just to use a fucking DE?

>minimalist distro
oh sweetie

>>Implying im looking for stability
>>tfw i use reddit beta just watch porn, hentai and everything in between

>load counts
I will when your Mom posts her load counts

I didn't buy 16GB of RAM not to use it, something you RAMlets will never understand.

>i would change arch for anything,
was this meant to be "i wouldn't"?

>packagelets triggered

Fucking hell those title bars, what is wrong with you?

6.7GB of RAM usage...yep it's a Mac alright

hi jake

>up 4 days
wow, but then, even Windows 95 can do that.
How long have you had that install?
How long until you need to reinstall?

>mfw Windows 10 is more stable than Arch

Unused ram is wasted ram.

He didn't ask about why you gargle on semen before swallowing, he asked why on earth would you choose GNOME? Are you too poor to buy a Mac like the rest of your boyfriends?

I've had this install for a month, not a single crash. Only brainlets can't run stable Arch.

oh lawdy! fo days! call the noos!

t. angry nigger who can't figure out how to open his browser with his 1337 i3 gaps set up

xdg-open

And it's bspwm for you, uncultured swine.

windows 10 is pretty good

aye. my bad.

Is this supposed to prove something? It doesn't matter that your PC can stay running for a month if it's spitting bugs every 3 seconds.

What bugs?

I haven't had any bugs, maybe you're just a brainlet.

step aside brainlets

>3m

That long since pacman broke?

what am i looking at? 3m uptime? incredible

...

Is font rendering really that fucking bad?

No the screenshot is just low quality and it's 720p.

Because it's decently comfy to them, I imagine?

Perhaps you should stop gargling the semen of the neckbeard nextdoor who uses exclusively bspwm and realize that just maybe that some people like different things?

Not everyone wanks to the same porn.

>Shitposting about package counts
>Shitposting about package counts on WINDOWS OF ALL THINGS

Windows 10 would be fine if it wasn't for all the spying shit, forced updates and lack of UI cohesion. Under the hood it's still as lean as Windows 7

About 6.6 of that is probably Chrome

>unity is thriving

almonds, sizzle sizzle, ACTIVATED

Sup Forums hates anything that is good.

>unity is thriving
Same time period where it had Amazon botnet
>unity is dying
Now removed

will they ever remove that fat bold man from their shitty logo?

4 days for what??? OS X 10.13? Its nothing special senpai, same as the previous one (except it has native support for my hackintosh RX 480 card lol)

Talk shit about uncle Archie and we'll bash you.

>NANO
U have nano dic fgt.

No way!
I'm a girl, cretin.

show elbows

He is a homosexual.

ur weird...

>4 days
>stable
nigga im at 4 days and counting after rebooting for an update on an unstable overclock

Rude.
Why in the Earth should I do that?

To prove you don't weight 450 lbs

show elbows or else you're female(male) until further notice.

There should be a game
who has the longest uptime with arch?

Give me a month and I'll post it

But what if you crash after 29 days?

My system doesn't crash

Why are you using a 32-bit CPU?

Like a fight to see who could make it to 6 days? Kind of a special olympics of distro uptimes.

>turning off your laptop means your operating system is unstable
wat

1. there are different people on Sup Forums
2. Sup Forums hated gnome too

>bpswm
>not xmonad

> 4 days
WOW

which bugs does arch spit every 3 seconds? i'll wait.

fast startup is on desu so no shutdown/reboot so is looks like mine running almost a month

My Windows 7 desktop runs 24/7 and only gets restarted when I update (30-60 days depending on if I want to take the time). It could run even longer if I let it. Why do you loonix fags masturbate over muh uptime?

>my NSA uplink is always active, lincucks btfo

WINBABBIES OUT!!

lincucks jelly of our uptimes and we ain't even trying

Yes, I already know about this. I used Arch for about a year with zero issues. That's when I realized the "ARCH IS UNSTABLE DURRRR" meme is just a bunch of computer illiterates, or people who flat out never even used it.

>install following the clear-cut and concise official wiki guide
>check the front page of archlinux.org for any known issues before updating every week (there were only two instances that required direct user intervention on my end, and each time the front page gave only like two commands to type in the terminal to make sure the updates went smoothly)

Why does Sup Forums pretend this is hard? Are there really that many tech illiterates on this board? Is it just a hassle to read the front page every time you update? It's just a click away, and honestly saves you more time versus something like Windows, because you typically don't have to restart or anything, and it gives you the option to audit packages to be upgraded, whereas Windows will just flat out break things with updates and you won't even know what caused the breakage.

>not restarting to apply updates
>not staying up-to-date on the most insecure OS on the planet
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Despite what Sup Forums tells you, updates that require a restart are very rare.
It could be a lot more than 9 days but 9 days ago I was experimenting with undervolting.

If anyone has had an unstable experience with Arch. Idk wtf they were doing or trying to do with it. I have had arch on my cheap netbook for 6 months and only had problems once but it was an easy fix for my audio driver. No braking whatsoever. Tis the superior distro.

its ubuntu babbies trying to soothe their insecurities about being brainlets who talk shit about arch

I'm fairly new to Sup Forums and I was wondering whats with the hate for games here. Is it maybe due to Sup Forums or does Sup Forums only use their computers to update arch and post pictures of their ThinkPads.

4 days lmao

Shit rice

>tfw 3m = 3 months

>4 days
I used to get 16 days of stable uptime on average with win 8.1.
Fuckin WIN 8.1!!!
Crawl back to your neckbeard nest, jizz into some spank jars or whatever and shut the fuck up..

I have 24GB and still use i3+xfce, 16GB is allocated to guest when running windows in a VM with GPU passthrough.
Tried a bunch of desktop environments and despite having resources to spare I feel right at home with i3.
Only thing I miss from full blown DEs is the graphical workspace switcher that shows you a thumbnail grid so you can quickly tell the contents of a workspace at a glance.

it depends what you have installed.
I tried plasma with wayland and it was god awful on my system, randomly locking up and crashing with no survivors.
i3+Xfce on the other hand has been pretty stable for 6 months and counting now without any major issues.
The only annoying part is manual intervention which prevents me from completely automating updates.

>4 days

>hiding his gpu
>gpulet

> he thinks stability is measured with uptime

I guess this is the new uptime thread.

1. Linux has no games
2. A lot of people are salty that gamers are the only people keeping consumer desktops alive. If PC gaming died tye aftermarket PC parts market would die, there would just be OEMs selling to businesses. Laptops are food enough for 99% of people, hell? Tablets are giod enough for most.

oh yeah it's hella stable.

then you pacman -Syu and it doesn't update your ssl libraries and it breaks literally everything on your system.

Arch is just a stepping stone

>this shit again
even if you restart your pc windows doesn't reset the counter, probably it's realted to fastboot

>League of Legends

Oh my jesus

You are on Sup Forums

>4 days
Is that supposed to be impressive? Or is Arch so unstable that 4 days is seen as a miracle?
