There isn't a "normal" one as most people think from watching movies and TV. I've been to literally every state and everyone sounds different. SOME states sound the same though. There are a fuck load of accents (NY Accent, Boston, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Chicago, Bible Belt, California, Northwest etc.

There is a correct and incorrect way to pronounce words though.

howdy

Makes a bit of sense as I learned British English, mostly, I guess.

I very much do not sound like a Bostonite, so maybe New York.

PITTSBURGH MENTIONED
GREAT SUCCESS FOR ALL OF SW PA

its accurate for Americans and to a degree Canadians. it can really fuck up people in the Northern/Western Dialect zone btw, simply because we talk so similarly. I'm OP and half the time I talk the test it will have Rochester as one of my cities (which is arguably more accurate because I don't talk like a person from Jersey) or sometimes even SE Michigan or Chicagoland.

Almost the same tuga

Yes. Your dialect will now be understood as standard American.
