Install gentoo wiki is currently down so i'm asking it here

Install Solus.

Windows is simply better.

Nothing wrong with it.
Sup Forums hates progress.

It's a new thing made by a some retard working for Red Hat with a widespread adoption.

I am installing gentoo just fine right now
emerge installing 5 of 176

I don't know either, but the developers of it sure as incompetent.

I haven't had any problems with Fedora 26, I recommend you to go with it.

AYO HOL UP

N SHIIET?

i'm tired of your shit, winfags
sincerely, OP the fag, who's currently using win7 and is switching.

systemd is okay. Install Ubuntu MATE, You will stay happy.

bump.

*teleports with an ssd behind you*
pfft
nothing personell kid

not OP but, is the fact I get the command not found error when I try emerge the consequence of not running the commands as root ?

good job tardo you just fixed only 1 of the 9 problems.

having to spend money on hardware just because your OS sucks
baka

FreeBSD is systemd free.

it's not like you are buying an SSD only for the speed. mechanical drives are just a time bomb

Xorg -configure segfaulted for me

explain, i've had my HDD for 4 years and it's still working fine.

Try GhostBSD or TrueOS, then.

boot time + 20 seconds to open anything are gone instantly
sure it takes ram
updates only happen once every few months, there's more updates for linux packages than there's for windows in the OS
yeah it takes a lot of space, sure
i don't know about the connections, but I doubt it's real
from all I've seen it's bitching and the same 2 or 3 webms all around the internet that someone made for shits
it doesn't spy
there are no advertisements in my copy, so I have no idea what are you talking about
and mic+camera is also unlikely.

why don't you just use linux fully then
it's not like there's anything holding you back besides not comparable software support, is there

good
>simpler service configuration for trivial things
>fast

bad
>attack surface
>reinventing the wheel

install (hardened) gentoo

>i don't know about the connections, but I doubt it's real
>it doesn't spy
lel install wireshark and see for yourself
>there are no advertisements in my copy, so I have no idea what are you talking about
>and mic+camera is also unlikely.
ever used win10?

Better wiki when?

I actually used wireshark when debugging some shit, but I didn't see any weird traffic.
Yeah, I'm on Windows 10 Pro right now.
I never saw an ad.
Since, you know, you can hide everything called "offers" with settings.
It's really quite simple.

I thought you said there were no ads in your copy? Not the guy you're arguing with

>does not know about telemetry

choosing a distro is easy to overthink and i understand your dilemma, i decided i wanted to be bottle fed so i chose mint. basic tasks are easy, i havent gone any further

>Anime
Hi!
Go to hell.

It automatically changes your DNS to Google's.

I'm going to make your life easy. If you want a schedule release distro, that is a distro that you have to upgrade every 6 months, go Ubuntu Mate.

If you want a rolling release, go Manjaro Xfce

what about for older tech like x60/t60? Using debian right now but it's a bit slow

Staying systemd-free requires some skill, best options are:
PCLinuxOS - Beginner friendly
Slackware - Intermediate
Devuan(Little outdated) - Beginner/Intermediate
Gentoo - Veteran(Veteran only because it offers you just source compilation and little packages are in binary, FreeBSD offers both.)
FreeBSD - Intermediate/Veteran

There is tons of shit against systemd, only redhat cucks will deny, suckless.org/sucks/systemd

Systemd takes over your whole system, it should be doing only initialization process but instead of just that, its doing: monitor brightness control, DNS control, Network control, Login control, Logging control(also logs in binary...) etc... its so monolithic that eventually linux will become like windows. And lennart is dumb piece of shit that knows nothing about UNIX in general, just see his github.
