temporarily.

Pervasive

No, our internet is still free. Maybe some cp sites are banned, but I don't know or care about it.

No sites are censored as far as I know (though there have been plans) but you can get arrested if you say the wrong thing on a legal website ;^)

>Slovakia is not individually classified by ONI[1] or in Freedom House's Freedom on the Net 2013 report,[8] and does not appear on the RWB lists.[3]
There are no government restrictions on access to the Internet or reports that the government monitors e-mail or Internet chat rooms without judicial oversight; however, police monitor Web sites containing hate speech and attempt to arrest or fine the authors.[625]

The constitution and the law provide for freedom of speech and press. While the government mostly respects these rights in practice, in some instances, it limits these rights to impede criticism and limits actions of groups it considers extremist. The law prohibits the defamation of nationalities, punishable by up to three years in prison, and denial of the Holocaust, which carries a sentence of six months to three years in prison. Criminal penalties for defamation are rarely used. The constitution and the law prohibit arbitrary interference with privacy, family, home, or correspondence and the government generally respects these prohibitions in practice. Police must present a warrant before conducting a search or within 24 hours afterwards.[625]

A new draft law under consideration in 2011 would allow the nation's tax office to block web servers that provide online gambling without a Slovakian license. Opponents argue that the economic interests served by the law are not sufficient to justify online censorship

Is this a meme? I find it hard to believe Americans would not get access to anything that we do

Yes but a soft ban. Easy to evade with a dns

Brasil has 'marco civil da internet' we are heavily under surveillance!

want a little? yesterday they arrested 10 brazilians accused of terrorism claims about Rio2016. One of them used to browse a chan from Brazil. They are starting to raid everything in the name of security

We have the constitutional right not to be censored prior to publishing texts, this obviously has extended from printed media to internet content, although the drug cartels sometimes make threats against journalists and some politicians have attempted to do the same (most famously the president has been involved with the firing of a very prominent journalist) but none of this legal, other than rela cybercrime (farud, cp, etc.) our authorities are suposed to be hands off the internet. I have naively assumed the Americans were protected by the same amendment in the same fashion... So much for muh freedoms...

*the first amendment

flag
no, but I wish they would rangeban all anglorats, they're the one who makes Canada look bad. Fuck them
>inb4 butthurt

carry on the torch for us

It's basically just libraries and grade school computers that have state mandated internet filtering. Unless you count youtube videos being banned because muh copyright violations.

However surveillance is indeed very widespread. Surveillance (of our internet activity, of our emails, etc.) is obviously omnipresent but our government really doesn't censor or block websites, generally - our internet is pretty uncensored outside of libraries and schools. They just invade our privacy and watch our every online move.

It was banned for few months because of loli porn
