The chances of being KIA in a tank are lower. Atleast lower than regular infantry.

Depends if you are support artillery or line artillery,

If u are an artillery soldier u need to carry shells around like a slave and if u are an officer, u need to do math and physics stuff

For some reason, I don't think that the math and physics behind artillery can be too hard, considering soldiers need to be able to do it.

I'd rather join the mountain troops, they have better food, pay and more permissions (at least in our army)
