DF already maxes out the CPU in bigger fortressses, so a large fortress with decent graphics are literally decades away

It's an entertaining simulation/game with very detailed systems and interactions. The fun you get out of it depends on how creative you are, I suppose, and if you're able and willing to learn a somewhat complex UI
