Android tablet for reading?

What is the best Android 7/8 tablet for hours of reading?

iPad

So original and funny.

I've heard good things about Huaweis and the newest Lenovo tablets. But I still use a 4 year old LG GPad... havent tried them personally.

>Huaweis and the newest Lenovo

I'm Chinese and prefer non-Chinese manufacturers.

Only buy amoled screens
Tab S2 is light enough

Kindle Paperwhite
Kobo

Samsung seems to be the best choice of tablet for all around use. The S2 is quite good at $350. It has a higher resolution screen meant specifically for reading eBooks and .PDFs. I have a Tab A that was $110 and well worth the money.

I got a Galaxy Tab S2 and it's perfect for reading and watching porn

There are no good Android tablets. The software is awful, no specs can overcome that. It will always be terrible, Google doesn't care about tablets.

Get the entry level iPad. It's affordable and good for video and reading. Decent for browsing. Miles better than any Android tablet.

This isn't what you wanted to hear but the consensus is that Android tablets are terrible. Your best bet is an iPad.

Phones are debatable. But there's no debate for tablets.

ipad software is worse, it's so locked down and normie shit

This desu. It's like Android manufacturers have given up on tablets lately. I mean, can you name Samsungs flagship without looking it up first?

Tab S3

That's because hybrid laptops beat tablets in their own game.

Tab s3

unfortunately it's true, idk wtf happened but android OEMS have pretty much left the tablet space. It's just the ipad now and even if you bought a android tablet there's not apps for them and you'll be stuck using phone apps on a big ass screen.

I use a lenovo tab 10. Not the most powerful tablet ever but the battery is fucking godly at its price point, which is the most important thing for a reader according to my personal tastes.

Can't believe people are recommending iPad's for something meant for reading. If you see yourself doing more than reading then maybe it'd be a good idea, but I don't see the reason for spending so much money on an activity that requires so little space and processing power...

>you'll be stuck using phone apps on a big ass screen.
same with ipad

Nah, i'm not an apple fanboy but there's enough ipad users that developers make apps specifically for the ipads. Most of the apps you're going to use on an android tablet are apps made for phones.

This. The fuck more you want? That I don't ever see any ads ever is enough, let alone the fact that I can store any file I want and view them.

Kindle or Nook
b&w displays literally have days of ontime

>Most of the apps you're going to use on an android tablet are apps made for phones.
same with ipad.
what apps do you need that are specifically tablet made

This user has a good point, e-readers have excellent battery times that can last for weeks on a single charge. However you'll never get to read anything in colour, and you'll be forced into a somewhat buggy interface often laden with ads and restrictions.

>reading this much
kys nerd

This is Google Hangouts on an iPad

the one on the right

This is Google Hangouts on an Android tablet.

Do you see the difference?

It's like this for countless other apps.

>has to name a app nobody uses
lel you're going to name the zune app next right

ASUS Zenpad 3S

Facebook for iPad

don't respond to him, he's just an fanboy you can't reason with them.

Facebook for Android

The top 10 most popular app on Android, and top 6 most popular app on iOS.

android 9s incomparable contrast, timeless design, revolutionary tactile interface and now made of 100% recyclable pulp based composite

Still rocking my 2012 nexus 7. After installing PureNexus it's holding up pretty well
