started learning japanese 2 weeks ago. I've mastered hiragana didn't even bother starting katakana yet and I'm learning a few kanjis. Feeling kinda overwhelmed by the amount of kanjis and their combinations. Anyone with useful tips or it's just a case of "with time you'll get it"?

Finny are you here? What anime are you watching this season?
For me berserk, fate, tales of zestria x, love live sunshine and masou gakuen HxH.
You man up and do it. In time it gets easier but its still difficult but I can kind of play basic JRPGs now and I've gotten better even with random breaks and halfass ness some days but still lots of hard work. Ive been studying since August 2014.

Only started seriously studying since a few days ago though
Hiragana was somewhat easy as long you draw them a bunch while you are learning them. I kinda just lazed around when tried to go for katakana but I really should get around learning it sometime soon. Even though I don't know nearly enough words to understand any conversation I'm kinda happy whenever I can spot a kanji/hiragana word that I know while lurking here.

How often do you hear about people learning Japanese from an illiterate purely conversational stand point.
I mean besides kana cause that stuff's easy.

I never hear about it. It happens but I suppose it's not so common because there are very few people who spend time in Japan, immersed in the language, without actually studying it.
