I work in sales and with LG it is always a gamble. I kid you not. It's about a 60/40 ratio of phones that either have a nice clear white display or the disgusting discolored screen above. And don't think we're gonna cover your ass. We WILL sell the inferior phone. And only replace it if you bitch.

For the OLEDs they can't source from anyone else since the only ones who produce OLEDs are samsung and themselves for the size and res used on these phones.
LG claims that's just a by-product of their OLEDs.
But really it's because they can't produce enough good quality OLED panels like samsung does for their Note and S series phones.
Because samsung produces SO many OLED panels they actually sell their worse performing units to other manufacturers (Note5 had a 5.7" OLED, that same panel was used in the Nexus 6P, HOWEVER the nexus panel CONSISTENTLY tested worse than the note5 panel in testing despite being the same panel).
Samsung just dumps their worst panels off on others while keeping the best panels for their flagships.
LG doesn't have this option.
