Agree, then set a final tab for when you have an overflow.

Sure, take up more of my fucking screen with useless shit. As long as there is a gesture for tab navigation or to open a tab drawer (tree style left drawer would be goat) fuck it. Besides that top tab bar can hold what, like 4 tabs top?

Fuck, we shouldn't need the URL bar at all. That could be hidden or at least collapsed into a hamburger. Make the icon the site favicon and call it a day, fades after a few seconds, reveals on upward scroll.

My question for you is: Why the fuck do you need "stop/refresh" navs easily accessible on a mobile?

I just want the tab bar
it disappears once you start scrolling down anyway
retard

Honestly, the tab implementation currently if perfect.

Naked browser is the best mobile browser ever created.

you hate functionality huh

Naked Browser is the ugliest shit i've ever seen.

I like it.

YOU hate functionality
what if I want to compare 2 things in two seperate tabs?
with a tab bar i swipe up or press the menu button and click the other tab

with chrome or your miliniel design, I press the button, press the tab, check it, press the button again and press the other tab to compare
retarded

>retard
>likes viewing the actual content and not the UI Chrome.

ok bud. good talk

Swipe right. It just works

You can do this with per app dpi with xposed.

Once you use it you can't go back. You will be forced to buy open devices for the rest of your life.

Or you just use visualdiff like a normal person. But some browsers hook swipes on the navbar as next/prev tab. That would be what you'd want :D

How the fuck is this supposed to work with 4in screens? It doesn't. How many people need to have easy access to 3/4s of these controls? Not many!

I like naked browser's volume keys switch tab function. Does firefox has anything like that?

>I just want the tab bar
autism

why don't I remove your tab bar from your desktop computer browser and you have to click a button to reveal tabs?

You know there is a tablet mode in Opera that gives you tabs on top?

Open more than 5 tabs and try to switch to the correct tab with that shit

I don't use opera because it's chinese botnet!

> hate functionality
Why would you want to get your vertical space squeezed?

it automatically disappears once you start scrolling down

Firefox doesn't have this problem.

that's a tablet not a mobile phone

>It's an another episode of OCD or autism
Can't say i'm surprised op

My desktop has a lot more usable area than my phone does.

The tabs bar automatically hide once you're scrolling and browsing

How do you get back to them mid page?

If you are using a 1440p screen, and set the scaling to minimum (so you are using the full real estate like a good human being) then Firefox thinks you are using a tablet and switches your tabs to the better layout

Also other fun things happen. A while ago, Amazon's app yelled at me and demanded I use the "Amazon Tablet App" instead. It was a broken mess.

So ?
Didn't have this problem when I used it on my Nexus 4 either.

The perfect browser will be Naked Browser with firefox addon support

>India Today on bottom-middle phone
I can't tell if this was done on purpose or if you're actually a pajeet.

firefox mobile has an option to stop the tabbar from disappearing for autists like you

its a stock image from google retard

I used that as a point to counter his argument about wasting screen space

>no Bad Dragon or gay porn
He's a pajeet.

>phone posters
if you want desktop functionality, why aren't you using remote desktop

That's not even the point.
How many tabs can you fit across and still be able to tell what is in them and accurately hit them before having to scroll them instead?
I can fit like 40 in my browser window that isn't even full screen.

>non-binary porn
the hell?

desu I do this with my tablet a lot. Works great with RDP.

which browser is this?

4 tabs is enough when you're comparing something on the fly and need to reference the previous tab as well

>tfw Habit Browser still has the best GUI ever
>tfw it's abandoned and not open source
>tfw no one will ever create anything close to such greatness

what are you comparing even?

lightning

i can't believe i wasn't using this before.
thanks user

You can swipe right or left on the url bar to switch tabs.
I sorta like the little box with the number that opens tabs in a window like preview because the way you specified eats screen realestate.

Tree style is so fucking good

>Android browser
>UI

Edge UI is the best! Come fite me bois!

>Open more than 3 tabs
>Now you can't read any of the page title lol
This is why you don't design interfaces, also browsers would look like your pic if we let developers control the UX.

So you want giant fucking HUDs that take up half the display? Heck with actual content right? Next up, maybe they could make the video 1/4 of the screen and have the rest be navigation buttons!

see and you can't see your open tabs in the other way too until you click on the button to see all of them and scroll to them
what's the difference?

Lightning does it better

The difference is that the show tabs "toggle" doesn't eat up valuable real estate the same way 4 useless tabs does. With the toggle mode you can see full page titles and a preview of the tab, with tabs implemented like on desktop you get no titles or previews if you have many tabs open.

It's a readability and accessibility issue, before we factor in things like custom font size for people with shit eyesight.

i like the current tab system more desu

Just use Safari

>>The tabs bar automatically hide once you're scrolling and browsing

>with tabs implemented like on desktop you get no titles or previews if you have many tabs open.
Readability of the tabs is the main issue here not the real estate, even though tabs would take up twice the real estate when not hidden...

>(tree style left drawer would be goat) fuck it. Besides that top tab bar can hold what, like 4 tabs top?
>Fuck, we shouldn't need the URL bar at all. That could be hidden
Essentially, what you are describing is the stock browser on BBOS.

>Url bar hidden by default
>and at the bottom, where it is supposed to be on mobiles
>tap the area for the url bar or scoll up to reveal it
>tab icon
>press
>list of tabs on the left, with short and concise description, instead of that stupid slideshow you get on android

It's friggin perfect!

And its very dead.

I hate this "future" we live in.

ew

sjw tabs

first of all FUCK YOU PHONEPOSTER.

Second, you appear to be unaware that Opera exists.

And before some faggot goes "HURR DURR YOU HATE PHONEPOSTERS BUT IN YOUR PIC YOURE POSTING FROM A PHOANNN" I merely did it to illustrate my point. This reply is being posted from a mighty Thinkpad ® X220T, motherfucker.

/thread

Ergonomics, product design, HCI, etc. are actually pretty interesting fields.

The problem is that when it comes to UX/UI is done by people who can show off shiny new interfaces or follow the trend or next big thing rather than people who actually study the field and do actual research or work with focus groups, house of quality, etc. and follow/use actual design methodologies/tools

fuck you shortpill
