I do not think a sexier phone has ever been created

I do not think a sexier phone has ever been created.

that being said I do watch a lot of YouTube videos on my phone...

What's the consensus Sup Forums? Is it worth it?

I liked it

how much?

still pretty retarded not to have number keys on a phone, 3 row qwerty is always halfassed.

>I liked it
>how much?
$500

>I do not think a sexier phone has ever been created.
You thought wrong.

It's not that big of a hassle to long press alt so it locks.

Does anyone know if att stores actually have these as demos? Can I go in and play with one before thinking about buying it?

>I don't want to go to stores in my city if they aren't there

I can understand but that is autism

How's it autistic to not want to waste your time going to a store for nothing?

I don't understand the appeal, aside from this looking very "tech".

What is the benefit of having a cramped, static, tactile keyboard that is constantly taking up valuable phone real estate over a digital and contextual keyboard on the screen?

>shitberry

it will be broken in less than year

Real feedback and accuracy, plus it acts as a trackpad too.

...

It shouldn't take that much time to see by yourself at the store or calling them

when will they realize no one cares about a physical keyboard after not having one for so long due to blackberry not making good phones

all the old blackberry users have iphones now

I always mistype with a touch screen
and this

this is a blue board

>no one cares about a physical keyboard after not having one for so long
I do.

ok
>not enough people care about a physical keyboard to drop their iphones and spend hundreds on a blackberry

Considering BlackBerry keeps releasing keyboard phones I'm going to assume there's still enough of a market for them to do so.

I had that old lg flip phone with a landscape qwerty keyboard, and I loved it. Upgraded to a moto g when it released because it was cheap and the old phone broke. I missed the sensation of physical keys under my fingers and looked for years for a decent android phone with a physical keyboard. When I found the blackberry priv I fell in love.

I have a keyone and I fukkin LOVE it. Only problem is after Google forced an android update on me, my front camera stopped working. I blame android for that and not bb

Also now that I have a blackberry I look down on iPeasants

I bought this by far for the keyboard and everything else was a distant 2nd. I really hate touchscreens

It's not a phone - it's a good digitally created image of a device that nobody has ever held.

I'm 100% the "real" prototype looks like a brick car phone from the early 1990's.

The KEYone came out months ago, people hold it daily.

>drop their iphones
>hundreds on a blackberry
>$1000 iPhone x

I'm posting from a keyone right now

Is it only sold in Canada?
I don't know a single person who's talked about it, let alone owns one, and I run with a pretty tech-horny crowd.

No

post screenshot from said vaporw....err, device.

>I'm posting from a keyone right now
When did you get it?
how do you like it, do you feel you actually are more accurate typing on a keyboard than a touch screen

Not him but I certainly type more accurately on my Q10

Oh I don't even care about phone dialing with numbers, just typing them. I use the phone excuse to bitch about shitty 3row keyboards.

I own one in USA. Got it from AT&T.

Disgusting portrait keyboard
Landscape or nothing pleb.

I was talking about typing numbers. If you're dialing a number Alt is on automatically, at least in BB10OS. I'd assume it's the same on Android.

The Passport SE is the sexiest phone ever made IMO. Too bad developers thought it was cancer.

The rounded bottom corners and additional stainless kill it for me compared to the OG, it's still a great looking phone though.

>Disgusting portrait keyboard
> Landscape or nothing pleb.
the Passport is for you

Landscape is ass

Not that user but I also have a Keyone. I type slightly slower, but significantly more accurate so it comes out to be about the same or slightly faster.

>Not that user but I also have a Keyone. I type slightly slower, but significantly more accurate so it comes out to be about the same or slightly faster.
do you think it's even worth it then?

It comes down to personal preference, they both have their pros and cons.

>It comes down to personal preference, they both have their pros and cons.

Are there any pros whatsoever to actually having a physcial keyboard?

I admit the phone looks nice, but what else does it have going for it?

>I have a keyone and I fukkin LOVE it. Only problem is after Google forced an android update on me, my front camera stopped working. I blame android for that and not bb
>Also now that I have a blackberry I look down on iPeasants
Did you ever get the front camera to work tho

>Are there any pros whatsoever to actually having a physcial keyboard?
Given you prefer physical keyboards, a major pro is having one. Another huge pro is cursor control. The keyboard also functions as a trackpad, notice a typo or want to rewrite something you typed earlier and you just double tap the keyboard then use it to move the cursor, and if you want to delete a word or a few of them, left swipes on the keyboard delete a word at a time. It also works for scrolling and zoom in websites and apps, probably some other features I don't know about too.

Alright I'll get it thanks

I forgot to mention some other neat keyboard features
>on the home screen you can just start typing to search for a contact, app, etc. as the keyboard's always available
>can use space and shift space to scroll websites, along with p and n for back and forward, etc.
>can swipe up under word suggestions to select them

Can any of you show me what clover looks like on the keyone?

It looks the same, just with a different aspect ratio

Passport has no landscape keyboard faggot

Like this

Its keyboard is as wide as old phones' landscape keyboards though

>blackberry software dead
>adopt android
>instead of shipping vanilla android they fork a old version
>never to recieve oreo with vulkan gpu
>locked bootloader without ability to flash lineageOS or TWRP

it would of been nice to have the thinkpads of android hardware but they dropped the ball

it would of been even less work for them in the end.

they could even ship it without gapps and playstore and include f-droid and optional blackberry store(dont give me vaporware that isnt removable)

>would of

would have

the post still stands

>the post still stands
Sorry but it doesn't

Would be great if it was 4 (or 5) rows not fucking 3

If you are gonna have a keyboard then you shouldn't half ass it like they did on the keyone

Nope.

I hated the Passport for years before getting one out of curiosity, it's not nearly as bad as it seems and I quickly fell in love with the phone.

Any keyboard is better than no keyboard

>consistent waste of screen
What a piece of garbage. If you don't care about screen size and aspect ratio then just buy a dumbphone

>waste of screen
epik meme. If there was no keyboard there'd simply be less phone.

Mid June
The typing at first was slow but I picked up up pretty fast. The accuracy is about the same as when I had iPhone but it feels better. Like I'm more certain of what I'm typing. The keyboard keys can also be assigned as shortcuts which is really nice, cause on iPhone I had to jailbreak to get that and even then I really only had the home button to work with

The clover?

Do Android BlackBerries still have Browser? Not Android's, BB10OS's

Clover is an android client for Sup Forums. I highly recommend it.

Browsers? Like Web browsers? It comes with chrome which is what I use

No, like the app literally named Browser
>It comes with chrome which is what I use
So I'm assuming not. That's a disappointment.

I can't find clover on my friends Android and can't find it on mine unless I go to the specific app, did the take it off the market?

I have one of these and still use it every day.
If you aren't an appfag it's really the dream phone.

This. It's perfect for communication, hotspot use, browsing, and RetroArch, which is all I require out of a phone.

I'm new to android, I can't seem to find "the clover" in the play store. Never heard of browser

thanks for answering questions user

what kinda battery life are you getting with it?
Does the phone heat up under load at all (ie watching youtube videos while charging, or playing games while charging)? Has it been pretty smooth for you? Has it ever crashed or force restarted for you?

yes, clover is no longer on the play store. Download F-Droid to get it, along with many other nice FOSS apps.

I recommend you get NewPipe, LibreSignal, and Open Camera as well.

Exactly. Look at how tiny and weird the screen size is. You get 300 pixels less than FHD.

It was banned from market due to defaulting to random SFW boards, one of which was Sup Forums where porn was posted often despite being SFW. Someone reported that and Google banned Clover forever because porn is banned on play store.
It's an open source project on github. Just search for "github clover floens" as keywords. There's a "releases" tab (on the desktop version of the site). Download the apk from there. You could also just search for it on fdroid.

Browser's a BB10OS app. Android has one with the same name but it's a completely different program.
>Clover
I don't use it nor Android but I believe it's not in the Android Market anymore, you need to use F-Droid.

first phone to make me think about switching from iOS

>me need big screen for yootoob bidya

>FullHD
What a meme. I'm more than content with my Q10's 720x720 screen. Hell my Passport's 1440x1440 is major overkill, I'd love for it to have a 1280x1280 AMOLED display, which is still overkill

that's a legitimate point though

if you watch a lot of videos then maybe you shouldn't get this phone

Also touchscreens have always been and always will be a shit, inaccurate fucking gimmick that encourages lazy typing and takes control away from you that everyone bought into for some reason

>Also touchscreens have always been and always will be a shit, inaccurate fucking gimmick that encourages lazy typing and takes control away from you that everyone bought into for some reason
holy shit, the amount of autism required to make this post must be so high

Apple's got a patent on a touchscreen phone with an air compressor that inflates bubbles representing keys, I'd love to see them implement it, no matter how shitty it is.

>what kinda battery life are you getting with it?
Great battery. Pic related
>Does the phone heat up under load at all (ie watching youtube videos while charging, or playing games while charging)?
While charging it can
>Has it been pretty smooth for you? Has it ever crashed or force restarted for you?
About a month in it did a factory reset on its own and I lost everything. I was charging it with my MacBook USB C cord and I wonder if that had something to do with it. Only use the charger I came with since and no problems

I was ios before and hated android. Only reservation I had about blackberry kayone/priv

But after using it for 2 mo you couldn't pay me to go back to iphone

Oh ok guess I'm wrong then, I was just thoroughly convinced that touchscreens and the phone technology in general definitely isn't incrementally taking control of the device away from the user to turn them into pacified dumb consumers, here let me autocorrect that for you widdle apple fanboy

I have the priv. It's amazing. The slide out keyboard is stellar. Had it nearly 2 years. Still works perfectly.

can the passport slide load all android apps? I'd get one if I can have all my android apps

>that being said I do watch a lot of YouTube videos on my phone...

why didn't they make the navigation buttons part of the screen so they can hide during videos and make the screen closer to 16:9? if they're not going to use physical buttons why separate them from the screen?

>can the passport slide load all android apps?
As long as they support Android 4.3, yes. Sideloading hasn't even been necessary for years, I've got both F-Droid and the Play Store installed on BB10OS.

It's also worht pointing out that some apps simply don't work, either due to the aspect ratio or something else. I haven't encountered any but I know they exist.

Actually most of my typing mistakes are from auto correct taking over and changing what I'm trying to say.

I did add "fucking" to my dictionary so it won't change to "ducking"

>rounded base
>squared out top
it's like they started out with an iClone but didn't want to commit, they should have made it more consistent

BlackBerry seems to think that rounded bottom corners help ergonomics even though they're irrelevant

Snapchat was one people were wondering about and I can confirm that it DOES work on the keyone

They help the way I hold mine. Don't know why the top is square though

Well yeah, it runs Android. I'm talking about BB10OS. iirc the issue with Snapchat on BB10OS was that Snapchat bans accounts running OSs other than Android or iOS, and on BB10OS even though you were running the Android app you'd get banned because it said you were running BB10OS. I believe there's a patched version but I've never looked into it.

Oh. But the keyone screen does have an oddball aspect ratio which some people were thinking might not work with snapchat

I've never had issues with the Passport, which has even more of an oddball res than the KEYone. I know Snapchat works on 1:1 screens, I don't see why it wouldn't on 3:2 ones.

BB Passport for €150 or KeyOne for €500? I want a physical keyboard and I'm going to use the new phone for Whatsapp, web browsing and checking emails and calendars. I want my next phone to be a work tool with good battery life.

sharp edges dig into your hand

Not with the way you (at least I) hold it

ur holding it wrong
