It's interesting that we perceive it as a 'g' because it isn't. Sounds in languages are very precise and speakers of one language will often be unable to produce or differentiate sounds in another.
技術 IPA: /t͡ɕi51-53 ʂu51/
Technology IPA: /tɛkˈnɑlədʒi/
Notice the 'g' sound in 技術 is actually t͡ɕ, while the 'g' sound we think of is dʒi.
