BETA

I use nightly

nightly

Nightly fucked up on me and now windows won't render, but it's still all loaded into ram.

Nightly, but have Beta as a backup in case shit goes south.

BETA!! its so fast, im blown away

Start in safe mode and change the theme.

Beta if you have to ask.

ESR

tried beta now, it's fast and i have experienced 0 problem so far
i wonder if nightly is less stable ?

you should always run Nightly unless you're a scared cuck

it's also fast as hell now

Palememe

Beta since it's 57 now. Nightly is a meme.

fpbp

you are a beta if you use sjwfox

waterfox

I use quantum/developers, am I cucked?

56 is fast too now
I'm holding it until the CTR guy will release his userChrome.css as promised:

github.com/Aris-t2/ClassicThemeRestorer/issues/365

latest nightly build is crashing tabs on me regularly, so I'd use the quantum beta for now.

Nightly

15 years ago a web browser ran at the same speed of a file manager
all web browsers are now shit and you don't know what you're missing
i'd rather use emacs than firefox

Didn't have to go into safe mode or anything, but I did reinstall and everything is fine. Reinstalled before, but it didn't work then.

Just installed this shit after using Chromium based browsers for years. I can't deny it's a massive improvement but why does YouTube feel so much clunkier than it did in Chromium? No, I'm not imagining it. For example clicking the search bar doesn't always respond immediately like it does in Opera.

>Google owns chrome/chromium
>Google owns youtube
Hmm maybe they optimized things to work better on their own browser, so that people will want to use it and join the botnet! \conspiracy

You seem to be correct because I just tested in Edge and that seems to have the same problem.

well they did that to opera with google maps

I use Nightly on Windows and Beta on Debian.
They're pretty much the same.

Nightly

Developer edition.

>Not using dev
Glass yourself

dev for the sweet dark theme

Nightly has it too, goy.

I just switched to Waterfox and got laid. Waterfox is cool and nice, Firefox is stinky.

nightly ruins my download quota

I use prefer Developer

This

correct answer

Betghtly

Aurora aka Developer Edition.

In fact all version has the compact theme now.

Developer and Nightly are the only correct answers. Beta won't load unsigned extensions, which...truth in advertising I guess.

USE STABLE YOU KEKS

dev edition

That's the risk of running development software..

Also, like the other guy said, run Firefox in safe mode and change to the default theme.

Firefox nightly runs really nicely. I run nightly everywhere I browser, including my phone.

Nightly has daily updates it seems. Atleast for mobile. I like the furific logo but having to restart everyday is getting annoying. Ill be damned if i have it log into a browser

You don't have to restart daily. Restart at your leisure.

It's much worse than that btw, there are two update pushes for nightly on desktop. I just ignore them until I need to close out of things.

beta, something got wrong with nightly and it didn't start at all, fuck that... Beta runs smoothly

> Ill be damned if i have it log into a browser
not sure what you are saying here

Also do you never close your browser? Do you constanlty just have more than 50 tabs open and just hope that they are all going to be there all the time? I just honestly don't under stand if it's important use bookmarks or at the vary least pin the tab. I'm sure i've closed my browser over thirty times today already each time starting out with zero tabs and that's a normal day for me.

Start Firefox in safe mode. Change your theme to the default theme. Continue browsing normally.

Shit like this happens from time to time. It's the nature of software.

But default theme is shite

You're not wrong.

I'm not sure if you can switch it back yet. Worst that happens is you test it and you can't, roll back for another week or so.

ESR, don't think umatrix has been updated yet.

>im not sure what youre saying
You can log in to save preferences and history so when you close the browser you can jump right back in ie after an update.

For me on mobile i only have one or 2 tabs open so it really isnt a hard time to restart and research what i had open. But i use my phone as a radio in my car (mostly youtube because other music apps dont cater to my weeb tastes). Updating every time i leave work is a bit of a hassle but i can still listen ad free and still be able to turn off my screen with a few add-ons. Just getting tired of constant updating. Might roll back to non nightly firefox

how can you use uMatrix and yet be so naive do you not care about the state of an extension that you use. Do you update it? Do you ready the change logs? Do you think well I installed it it must be working and then never think about it again? This thing that you installed that is suppose to keep you safe that you take for granted just sitting there neglected crying for it to be updated or even worse configured for the first time.

Nightly

Chrome.

FF Beta, Nightly, and stable are slow as fuck, and crash like a Saudi woman learning to drive.

>ran at the same speed of a file manager

Even file manages are bloated garbage these days

gorhill doesn't really visit Sup Forums, so the naivete of Sup Forums on his extensions isn't really that surprising.

I'm just happy that for the most part I've been able to transfer all the features I need from the old version. Took some CSS editing with some help from Sup Forums, but that's even better since it frees me up from being dependent on a extension.

Nightly

This is what I've got right now, are there any better alternatives for any of these that you know off?

uBlock and Privacy Badger were the only extensions that survived the move for me so I had to leave my true and tested addons.

you can delete and whitelist cookies with CCleaner
no need for an addon

a WE addon for YouTube that works is this:

addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/youtube_downloader_webx/

privacy badger is useless
you can do a better job with a user.js file like the one here:
github.com/ghacksuserjs/ghacks-user.js
you can copy the parts you need, it's commented and well done overall

smart https is useless since Firefox switches to https by default now

I don't use CC cleaner.

Does the downloader work for any site? I use it to save porn, not youtube videos.

Got it. Though I expect it's harder to whitelist stuff with a js file?

Neither haha.

>to save porn

addon can't, sorry

for porn I'd use this:
bandicam.com/free-screen-recorder/
I used the trial version once: basically there is a little watermark (not intrusive) and was limited to record few minutes (10 if I recall), enough for porno
after saving you can cut out the watermark, or join together two segments, using VirtualDub

I have OBS for screen recording and capturing camgirls.

I think the one I used to have was called "Flash Video Downloader" or something generic like that and it worked fine for most websites. The one I'm using now seems decent enough, but it dosn't save any of the names and instead just renames shit to random numbers which is annoying.

Regular or Beta.
