Remember when Russian democracy was more corrupt than the US's?

(This thread is not about politics, it's about comparing corruption between the two main powers of the world therefore int related)

American style? No, that's the Democratic party's style.

Russia is more corrupt undoubtedly, the issue is that no one wants to admit is that America can be as bad or sometimes worse.

Reminder that Bush won in 2000 because of rigged elections

>rigged
That's just the electoral college. You might think it's stupid, and on that particular occasion I'd have to agree, but it wasn't rigged

>Russia is a main power

The people don't vote for the president, the States vote for the president. This is by design and can lead to odd situations like 2000 where a candidate wins by popular vote but not by state votes.

But if the electoral colleges don't vote how the people voted and the people's vote doesn't matter, why is it branded as democracy? It really doesn't make any sense.

Hahah you're delusional if don't think both parties are the same.

>Russian democracy

I don't remember when we had democracy last time. Was it in 1991-1993 or 1917?

>It's another Australian RT-bot thread

Because saying "democracy" gives the people a sense of patriotism, while most of them are too stupid to realize that we don't actually have a democracy.

>coups
>democracy

They did vote how the people voted, by how the people voted in each state, if it was just done by USA population then the only places that would matter and be talked about in politics would be LA and NYC.

This is to make it so that every state has a say in the election of the president and not allow more populated states to take over completely.

That's not how it works. 48 states have a given amount of votes based on population and it's winner takes all. So you can barely win a state but end up with all electoral votes.

Buy a water filter to scare him off.

Okay, it makes sense letting everyone participate in the election in a meaningful way.

But in 2000, in Florida, it really seemed like the thing was rigged. There were so many instances of stuff like people being branded as felons even if they weren't, road constructions in strategic places so that people couldn't get to vote, some people were told to vote for a candidate on every page of the ballot (which made their vote illegal and dismissed) and there was a huge effort by the state to stop the re-calculation that was supposed to happen.

Of course all this could be a coincidence but it's kinda hard to believe.
