Seriously, back when you had to root your device just to get basic function like ad blocking or USB tethering, sure rooting made sense.
As it stands today? Just use package disabler pro and disable any bloat you don't want running. Then customize it with whatever launcher and other shit you want. You can customize fonts, icons, etc. If you're too lazy to do that fine, that's something else. But samsung in today's world has THE best hardware hands down, and with a bit of patience is 99% as functional as any vanilla android device.
