I've been using my Samsung Core Plus for almost 5 years now and so far it's been my "thinkpad phone". I've dropped it countless times, fucked with it in every way and it stood the test of time. Now, the system and internal memory can't handle no longer newer versions of apps and I need a new phone
So what is a cheap but durable and reliable phone today ? I'm not looking for a "gaming" or a powerful phone, just simple and under 300 euros
>durable and rugged >affordable >perhaps a bit waterproof >will support newer android, but doesn't have to support any games or shit >good battery life >not too big, not too small
Help me out, are CAT phones any good, I'm thinking S31, but I've heard bad things about their phones

The first Moto X, in the sense that it was a really good workhorse of a smartphone, but its successors became worse and worse because the brand got bought out by Lenovo.
It fits most of your criteria, the one that I have sips battery life, but I don't think it's waterproof (I've never tried) and it seems durable enough since it's been working for 3 years now. I'm using it as a backup phone right now while I wait for a new phone in the mail.

Galaxy S5/6/7/8 active seems to be a good choice, they are pricey though (and only in US)...

Solid phones, solid OS, but the company is on life support, and if there is any app anywhere ever that you want to run, you won't be able to do it.

Had been selling phones at some point in my life from my experience the CAT phones sucks balls. They are far far from being optimized that together with the hardware are a frustrating experience. Been with Windows Phones for a while but picked up a BlackBerry KEYone. Would recommend WPs because of durability, pricepoint and usefulness, however they are dead. Regular BlackBerry phones are somewhat cheap and good for daily use, but since they don't run android and may not be durable they are out of the game. The KEYone is expensive but as of now your best choice imo
I still don't know how to deal with the size factor when people ask for phone advices. Some may think 6" is bog but when they use it, it often is comfortable to use

Forgot to mention In case you are experienced with flashing phones you can grab an Lumia 6xx or 5xx series and flash Android 5 or 6 onto them. There are threads on xda for this. But it only works with some of those series. This would definitely be the cheapest option considering you can get a 630 for about 80€
