>open video in a shitty resolution
>the bar is in a shitty resolution too
How do I solve that

Onii-chan, why doesn't mpv have a built-in, finely tuned, anime preset so we don't have to copy/paste bullshit settings from people who don't know what they're doing?
Why don't mpv devs just give us a really good preset?

>Why don't mpv devs just give us a really good preset?
Because they don't know what they're doing.

locate example | grep mpv

is 19 mistimed and 24 delayed frames over 22 minute 720p episode bad? most of it is in the first 7 seconds

Anything above 0 isn't good really. But if it's at the start, then I personally don't really care. In my experience that's unnoticeable because I'm not paying attention and going to fullscreen always being slightly jarring.

Why does this happen?

is Google Drive supported by youtube-dl? if not, then why would it work?

Did anyone try ESPCN prescaler?
github.com/igv/FSRCNN-TensorFlow/releases/download/1.0/ESPCN.glsl

Not him, but because it would be a file on the internet. You can play video files from the internet without ytdl, the site just needs to host it without much bullshit.

It's not the worst, but it's definitely a sign you're pushing it a bit too far.

It has for a long ass time, but right now it seems to be really awful, randomly stops and doesn't play again or doesn't load at all

What's the point when time and time again RAVU has proven itself to be the best looking shader of them all with the least artifacting, ringing, banding and god knows whatever the fuck else is lurking in those near-dark scenes.

Literally all you need is RAVU r3 or r4 rgb and you're good to go. Best thing is it barely uses any resources.

/lua-settings/osc.conf
vidscale=no

pushing what?
I have no shaders, basic config and gtx 750ti

nnedi3-64 vs ssim+ewasharp?

I don't like animes. :(

RAVU works just as well for regular content.

Recently rewatched Blade Runner and Lawrence of Arabia with RAVU on. They looked amazing.

Really? Better than ewa scalers or sssr?

>time and time again RAVU has proven itself to be the best looking shader
[citation needed]

>RAVU
>least ringing

Did you try NGU Standard High?
For me it's much better!

FSRCNN > ESPCN

In my experience, yes.

Go back a few threads, think a few days ago, where some autist did a bunch of comparisons between RAVU, NNEDI, FSCRNN and a bunch of other shit. RAVU came out on top.

So is it faster maybe?

RAVU == ewa_lanczos with better antialiasing

>FSCRNN
It's not even finished (tip: NGU is FSRCNN)

>And ESPCN for comparison (doesn't work with opengl renderer).
So for Vulkan?

Probably!

What VO? If it's one of the shitty fallback VOs, a number of those render the OSD at the texture size. (e.g. vo=vaapi, vo=vdpau)

tick "let madvr decide", sis :)

>go to watch video
>mouse wheen now mound to +/- 50 seconds
>use to be something like 10 seconds
>spend hour fucking with input.conf
>wheel keybinding will not fucking change
>change command line start setting in plasma to have "--no-input-default-bindings"
>doesnt change a damn thing
holy fuck Im getting so tired of this shit

FSRCNN-HQ has been updated

Anyone having crashing issue with vulkan + demuxer-mkv-subtitle-preroll + autoload script.

Seeking/skipping through the whole video and it crashes when it tries to load the next video in line. Doesn't happen 100% of the time, but on large majority (>80%).

Looks like he deleted it before i could test ;__;

wow, much much better
fsrcnn-hq r2

old fsrcnn-hq

>RAVU
>Better than ewa scalers
so should I delete scale=ewa_lanczossharp from my config if I'm using RAVU? Also which RAVU?

espcn, nearly 2 times slower than fsrcnn-hq
unsuable for even sub dvd res imho in this condition

AXIS_UP add volume 1 dummy

Sounds like you're doing something seriously wrong, user. “--no-input-default-bindings” works fine for me, and so does remapping the mouse wheel.

How fucking hard can it be to edit a config file? Too hard for windows users, apparently

the hashed out section of input.conf says
WHEEL_UP seek 2
WHEEL_DOWN seek -2

You don't need to remove your scaler, RAVU is only a doubler and still needs to use ewa a bit for for something like 480p-1080p.

>talks about shit being too hard
>cant even read

I can't explain why it says that, but AXIS_UP works for me.

AXIS_UP is an older/deprecated name. The wheel bindings got improved (and unified) in a later mpv version than what you have.

I tried axis_up and down, they work as well.
upon watching closer I am seeing it actually forward two seconds, and then it will jump to 50 seconds even. Another movement of the wheel lands it at 1:40, and so on. It seems that the wheel scroll = +/- 50 seconds is actually hard coded into this version of mpv.
linux, mpv-1:0.27.0-1

I didn't realize that, I just updated the other day so WHEEL_UP works just fine as well.

Also fsrcnn-hq definitely works faster with vulkan despite what timers show, opengl drops lots of frames and vulkan very few. i guess you shouldn't trust timers in vulkan?

jenkins.maeyanie.com/job/mpv/

Windows Vapoursynth

Who are you.

yes, it was said several times that timers aren't accurate with vulkan.

How do I make it so that mpv autoplays the next same file format in the file manager? Right now even if there's an mp3 file in the folder mpv would autoclose once the clicked file finishes playing.

I saw this on here. github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/2580#issuecomment-257471182

How do you set it up? ravu as the shader but scale, cscale, dscale and tscale?

I use MPC-HC. Any reason to switch?

I don't get an error, did I do something wrong?

You should never trust timers, showing timers make everything way slower even when it's supposed to be working (opengl).

dscale should always be mitchell, the default. tscale is personal preference but oversample is the popular choice for a reason. cscale and scale are again personal preference but i like haasnsoft.

>dscale should always be mitchell
why
>haasnsoft.
blurryshit

>are again personal preference

For windows users, next madvr build is coming!
You can stop wasting your time with this weird player.

>next madvr build is coming!
so what?

>cscale and scale are again personal preference but i like haasnsoft.
>dscale should always be mitchell
why

It's time to take your meds and go to bed, foozoor.

When I exit fullscreen, an after-image persists on the monitor. It goes away when I click/fullscreen something else. Any idea how I can keep this from happening? happens on opengl-hq and gpu-hq profiles.

Come home white man

>why
Because different people prefer different things. Thats why you should always test settings yourself.

Use it instead of this mplayer fork.
Damn, are you that retarded?

Good night haasn!

>Use it instead of this mplayer fork.
So, you can't use it until the new version come out?
Damn, you are retarded.

Seriously? Come on!

>foozoor is a retard:
What about an "anime optimized NGU" to compete with RAVU?
>madshi is our hero:
Maybe I'll look into that at some point, but it doesn't have a very high priority right now. With the anime image bjin has selected for his own image comparison NGU AA looks better to me than RAVU. So I'm not sure how much I can optimize there.

get your eyes checked

I just checked, they're fine.

>dscale
>should
>always be
>mitchell
>always be
>mitchell
why

It's the most efficient and also conveniently the best downscaler to use right now.

mitchell+ssimdownscaler is the best dscale

>help what are keyframes

What do i do if i dont have the mpv.conf file?

You create it yourself.

ok thanks, then i just insert the code on notepad?

profile=opengl-hq
video-sync=display-resample
interpolation
tscale=oversample

this is for High quality? it was on the last thread

Rings less than others

tscale is oversample by default, if you're downloading a newer build it will be gpu-hq instead of opengl

blurs more than others

Yes that's right. You might as well change profile=opengl-hq to profile=gpu-hq. They're the same, just reworded.

Here is your test image
bealecorner.org/red/test-patterns/star-chart-bars-full-600dpi.png
Find the best downscaler.

ok thanks, i have a w530 with k2000m, will i be ok with this settings?

one way to find out

it seems it doesn´t do anything different.

help what are keyframes

I'm sure tscale=mitchell is the default and has been for a while.

A fucking bitch.
