> Working for a fascist government

kys

a job nigga

its a job

Not op but I have the exact opposite problem

I studied engineering and now I can't seem to find a non-defensive contractor that pays well

OP, apply to BAE in NY. Not NYC tho

Why not move to D.C. if that is what you are looking for?

because i want to work a tiny subcontracting program in NYC

i live in NYC

Why would there be?
NYC is finance.

If you want defense, you move to Virginia.

NYC doesn't have defense.

New jersey, Maryland, DC, Northern Virginia.

THis

where the fuck are they going to fucking test the missiles in NYC ya tard?

>rat city central
>anyone with brain getting close to it
woah dude its like you want to get paid low and live in shit conditions.

mfw when defense contractors are all over..

You must be stupid to think Virginia is for Defense. That is for actual Government jobs in which you work in house. CIA HQ, NSA HQ, Pentagon, and so on. Not for contractors numb nuts.

NSA has contractors all over the DC metro area, including Virginia.

wut lmao

bae isn't even in NYC the fuck you going on about?

No, NSA has contractors all over the world. Why do you keep limiting it to a certain geographically area?

If you want to work in house, you are limited because the head quarters and central officers are... well.. centrally located.

Well, they must be lying.

>If you want to work in house
nigger, I have a friend working for an NSA contractor in the DC area, his office is in Northern VA.

The company he "works" for is just some tiny little no name IT consulting firm you wouldn't blink twice at.

It's more about infrastructure.

The DC area has a massive fiber network the government uses for moving around data between agencies and amazon data centers (AWS has a massive portion set aside for government use)

>NSA HQ
>Virginia

That's an IT office you subhuman

didn't realize working defense meant cubicle office job to you

Move to Huntsville, Alabama senpai.

You are arguing something I am not.

The major Governmental entities are in D.C.. Virginia, and Maryland. If you want to work directly for them, in house, you are limited to those areas.

If you do not want to work in house, you are not.

You can contract with a contractor and work in the area, or not.

But with contracting, you are certainly not as limited.

I am well aware of house this works, one being from Maryland, and two having worked in the DoD/DISA

NSA HQ isn't in VA. It's in Maryland.
CIA is langley V.A. as well as the biggest navy yards port is V.A.

Right. The OP didn't specify what he wanted. Being a tech bored... boy oh boy..

>The DC area has a massive fiber network
Thank you based fed. I know you're the only reason I have decent internet.

>and two having worked in the DoD/DISA
Help desk doesnt count :^)

It's the East coast itself and nothing to do with the Government, rather the E.C. has the largest metro populations. The E.C. is the biggest built up area of the US.

Actually, I joined the Army as 35L and was working under the DIA via humint collection. Which I later slid into DISA for another job after my ETS.

>It's the East coast itself and nothing to do with the Government, rather the E.C. has the largest metro populations. The E.C. is the biggest built up area of the US.
That's part of it, another big part was the Gov. funded that fiber deployment mainly for their own advantage.

Side effect being good fiber presence for the rest of us.

A lot of the Government data is direct communication. It does not go over the civilian wire. It's either direct link via fiber/ethernet or sent sat.

Google ESnet.

The fiber was laid in bundles. Civilian fiber lines were laid right there with it in many cases.

This does not negate thatr fact, civilian and governmental data do not share the same fiber lines.

Most Gov agencies have direct fiber or ethernet access to each other in regional networks via hubs. Then either use fiber or sat to connect the regions.

They're sats can do gig speeds and they have many of them. JWICS is huge.

>Giving up the opportunity to have access to millions of peoples' data.

You people are as thick as they come.

I mean, JWICS "secret google" is interesting.

It's literally google that searches jwics.
