It's because a lot of the American ones are just 1/4 or less of some ethnicity and yet they self-report themselves as full. That's not to say that the USA doesn't have a true diaspora, it's just they're masked by muh heritage fags. For example, I highly doubt there's 300k Bulgarians in the USA. I'm more inclined to believe the lower estimate.

The issue with the concept of "American/Canadian" diaspora is a lot of them are just dual-citizens in other countries or natives who've gone back. Half of the "Americans" in Mexico are just Mexicans who got US citizenship and have gone back, same with S. Korea

The ones in Ukraine are the results of thousands of refugees fleeing after the Russo-Turkish wars in the early 19th century. To this day there are areas in Ukraine where the majority is Bulgarian and there's villages and towns that speak Bulgarian entirely. About those in Kazakhstan I don't know. They probably moved there for work during the Cold War.
