Edge uses more than 4 times less RAM then Chrome and Firefox

>Edge uses more than 4 times less RAM then Chrome and Firefox
Fucking add Sup Forums webm support microsoft cucks and someone fix ublock origin for edge, I'd switch to it in a heartbeat.

>supporting anything by microsoft
dis gus ting

What is that browser even doing at that point? It's a bit useless to measure RAM usage of an idle browser.

It uses less RAM because it cannot play videos. For example, see video attached

>tfw you have enough RAM to run a free browser

Browsers shouldn't play videos. That's the job of a video player.

>Browsers shouldn't play videos.
Mine does. Sucks to be you. I hope your browser can't display pictures since it's the job of a picture viewer as well.

does edge use resources that the os loads anyway? stuff the other browsers have to load their own versions of?

>his browser displays text
>when that's actually the job of a text viewer

yeah, and to read text a call to 'cat $1 | less'
is more than enough

Edge plays videos just fine, what is this meme

yes its highly integrated into windows 10's interface, it basically run at boot in the background under a service.

...

you mean `cat $1 | more`? `less` is obviously sooo bloated

IE11 probably used even less RAM than any other browser.

I don't have Edge anyway. Vivaldi is nice.

Is the uBlock origin for Edge?
I dont give a shit if its microsoft i just need something better than ff.

If there was Ublock Origin for edge I would switch immediately, but lack of any kind of ad blocker is really a no deal for me

>1015MB

I have no ram that what I know what to do with, why the fuck would I care?

UO for Edge exists, but it's buggy. There is another adblocker which works well for edge though, but I forgot the name, just check the addons page thingy in edge.

There are uBlock Origin and Tampermonkey for Edge, not sure about other addons.

Firefox use 5 times less RAM than edge and ie combined.
Did you thought about that? ;^)

Chrome uses less than half then Firefox and Firefox Quantom combined, so 1/10th of your example.
Did you thought about that? ;^)

browsers shouldn't parse markup. that's the job of a gui.

>have to use Winshit 10 to use Edge
Nope. Not even once. That dumpster fire will never touch my machines.

>Uses less ram
Under what conditions? This is pretty stupid to compare browsers based on ram used without even trying them under different loads and running different websites.

Chrome use only 135 MB doing what?

kek

Chrome is botnet, though. No carrats here.

>vivaldi second
>UI is literally a webpage

>tfw your PC is used as datacenter for google

kek

The test was made by visiting the same 6 unnamed pages (in 6 tabs) for each browser and then waiting 1 minute.

I'm interested in a test with 60 tabs. Who only use 6 tabs on the same time?

>Ram usage
When will this meme end

>more than 4 times less
What's wrong with writing "less than four times"?

I never use more than 5 lol

Well your browser also spies on you, mines for bitcoins and is a member of a botnet.

Quite honestly, your browser sucks.

Um, I use GNU IceCat, try again sweety.

>browser are only good to make http 1.0 requests and parse static HTML documents

I bet the other megs are hidden on some windows obscure process.

I use only 2 to 6 tabs at a time.

>supporting anything by microsoft
Code is pretty good tho

That's how it should be as browsers simply cannot replace any dedicated software. Plainly put, browsers suck for video.

I don't see how that defends you against any of what I said.

>more than 4 times less
TRIGGERED

this is almost as retarded, 539 would be less the 4 times

>Having less then 16GB of RAM in 2017
Wow... I feel bad for you lad.

Yes, command line browsers are superior but muh javascript.

>â–¶Feels good to belong to the botnet

UNUSED RAM IS WASTED RAM

Fuck off retard.

Edge actually supports webm. It doesn't support the codec that Sup Forums uses.

>more than 4 times less
kek
>2017
>being a ramlet
Also edge prone to crash and have many compatibility issues.

>that wording
Your inner pajeet is showing.
>I'll switch to edge
So you're switching to W10 too?

webm defines both the container and a set of codecs
not supporting vp8 means not fully supporting webm
it's like saying "supports ogg" but only supporting ogg+opus, and not ogg+vorbis

right. my bad

playing video is a privileged, not a right.

Browsers should be able to disregard some privilege features for the sake of lowering the cost

t. Edge user
it's an okay browser but it should support all chrome addons.
EMBRACE

probably hiding it in operating system
let see that comparison in a linux distro
