Nope, I live here on roach island m8

It looks like a stern face staring at the ocean.

Rather fitting, desu.

Portugal é muito bonito
Para meu

We should annex that island

The Portugal-Spain border is only passed in unaestheticness by the Israel-Palestine border. Shit like that should be one complete country. I don't have anything against their respective cultures, and I know that it shouldn't be one country because of said cultures, but damn if it doesn't look hideous on a map.

It's missing Olivença on our side for a hook, but it mostly just follows rivers and mountains.

Kek, we are a very unconfortable chunk on an Iberian map. Very OCD-triggering.

We don't even have the whole western coast, just 3/4ths of it. Almost squarely cut too.

Spanish maps always look weird because of it.

The more ancient the border, the more perfect and beautiful.

I like that borders didn't change while the rest of Europe was constantly warring. It's like Portugal was always facing away from all that toward the sea and discovery.

We had our fair share of war, but it was mostly for all or nothing.

We lost a town to the Spaniards although that's still in contention, technically, and just 4 years ago we granted a bunch of them Portuguese nationality.

Oldest borders in Europe besides that, though. Islands probably don't count for that.

can you shut the fuck up about that town?for fuck sake...

I just meant that it IS technically a border change. Same for Madeira and Azores.

I honestly couldn't give a fuck if they kept it or scorched it to the ground.

It triggers my autism Portugal not being a medditerreanean country because it only on the atlantic. Besides that, everything about Portugal is pretty much meditteranean, like culture and climate

The Atlantic is the superior cold and mean-spirited water body for us. The general attitude of the country reflects this a fair bit, compared with the true Mediterraneans and we're sadder and more reserved than say, the Italians or the Spanish. Weird that we're still often considered more "Mediterranean" than say Croatia or Albania.

The thing where you notice it is the cuisine, which is definitely Mediterranean, with the exception of a couple of cold-water fish added in.

But yeah, it took me a while to notice we weren't technically in contact with it. We still consider ourselves Mediterranean, since we have the climate and the Olive trees.

Could we say Portugal is the Finland of the Mediterranean?

I guess that's fair, in a way.

It's actually very clean and beautiful for such a poor shithole.

It's a miracle we never sperged out and destroyed much of anything besides our economy like a lot of poor countries like us.
