Name 1 (one) time a seeder has swooped in out of the shadows to seed a torrent you'd been staking out.
It just doesn't happen. Torrents die. Data goes dark.

I'll wait

i dunno mang. i think oral amber will download here one of these days.

downloaded a complete pack of the yugioh manga, was on 0 seeders for a long time, kept it there just incase it happened, and every so often, every few days, it would get seeded a bit., it took twoe months but i got it all

I swooped in and am seeding a dead torrent right now. Last week there were no seeders, now there's 5.

There have been plenty of times where I'll download a torrent that says 0 seeders, connect anyways, and get a seeder in like an hour.

Torrents can certainly die though. But you never know, someone might just come through and hook you up with that data.

I leech everything but rehost on IPFS after cleaning them up for my own personal archive.

There was a video of a gangrape of a young girl i found once that was unseeded for 1 year before magically somebody from cambodia showed up to seed it.

...

you deserve to be stabbed in the eye with a rusted screwdriver

I was squatting a torrent for the Wavestar Discography, and a few months later 1 random person from the UK seeded the entire thing to me. A few months later, I seeded about 70% of it to 1 random person.

>Torrents die. Data goes dark.

It's a sad truth. I often glance over at my robust multi-terabyte NAS and wonder if all those years of seeding was worth it.

did enough people get what they needed?

was it ok to pull out those seedboxes at that time?

at what point did sharing a file become just acting as a file repository for autists?

one day i'll die, and i'll do my best to keep the data I've amassed over my lifetime archived and available for all who desire it. but it's interesting to think if one should even do that, or maybe just succumb to the feeling of purging it all and starting anew, as moot once thought of doing with Sup Forums, long ago.

fuking i need that right now

Pick up IPFS and see if it can keep you sharing.

>Sup Forums
who

It does happen. For the torrents that I've added when they've had no seeds, more have been revived than left dead.

Some of the JAV I have is like that. No seeds at first, but I just let it sit there for weeks and some guy randomly showed up to seed it.

There are a few times where I was leeching TV shows for weeks with no seeds and suddenly I was slowly actually downloading them. I know it's happened with a Ned's Declassified torrent, and a Cramp Twins one too iirc.

How big is IPFS? Is it filled with lots of content? How does it work, with hashes or what?

Not quite sure myself but it's intended as permanent filestore.

It uses the hashes to address and dedup content.
If you have the hash and someone is serving that hash you can download it.
Torrents but better.

It works over LAN and WAN.
It can slip seamlessly into HTTP and you can use IPNS to create a persistent Id to visit for changing content like directory structures and still serve up all the same hashes.
Easy to setup if you run linux.

I will just describe it to you

it's a video of some dodgy looking warehouse or something with concrete floor and a girl is naked on her back with her arms pinned above her head by a guy sitting headwards. then a bunch of guy took turn fucking her. at first she was crying and begging but after the second guy she kinda resigned herself to sobbing quietly while the rest took their turn.

Well that just ruined my night

What country did it look like this video came from?

sometimes there will be one seeder who hardly ever seeds but someone keeps it downloading for months and they in turn seed it properly after they have it.

I try to do this, feels good.

...

>torrenting a textbook I needed
>one danish guy is the only seeder
>a couple others and I are approaching 90%
>danishfag goes dark
>we're all fucked
>waiting
>some canadian swoops in
>seeds everyone to 100% as fast as we can download
>immediately goes offline

everyone who watches rape porn deserves to be hunted down and killed

Faggot

some kinda asian country im not sure where

A torrent for a JAV for T28-404. Good shit, but everyone was at 78% for weeks. Then random guy appears out of fucking nowhere and seeds me to 100. Never deleted it.

It was me. I've come back as a seeder months after torrents have been dead. Private trackers usually have messages for resseds.

>How big is IPFS?
Not that big. No comparison at all to all torrents or something monstrous like that.

I'm not sure it'll get big, but right now it's certainly useful to share collections of files, for example.
