"I'm just underwhelmed by the HD600's... they are missing that magic Pizazz. They sound veiled to me."
"The Sennheiser HD600 which I own proved to be a disappointment in the long run, too murky. The HD800's too brittle."

HD600 confirmed to be fucking garbage by three time award winning audio mastering engineer.

>ma900
these headphones measure like dogshit

Post setup + timestamp

you should post your headphones instead of non-dummy head measurements

Post headphones + timestamp

so, what's the HD660S going to sound like?

>t. Literally zero headphones user

improved hd600

Apparently a fine tuned 650. I want an improved 600. Who knows.

What is the second best headphone behind the HD600?

>improved
how so?

Too late, user. The real question has already been posted

By adding 60.

HD650

Does Jazz really sound bad on the HD650, or is this just a meme

HD650 is pretty goddamn ideal for jazz actually.

>Wrong

Portable headphone amp. What are your recommendations. I just bought some HD600s.
Or are they a meme?

Does a 1/4 -> 1/8 inch adapter (or vice versa) have any impact on sound at all?

Definitely can improve on weak sub-bass and bass extension

No.

Yes, it makes the sound a bit thinner because the smaller adapter can't handle the bass.

What are you driving from currently? an iPhone or other modern smartphone would definitely drive them, however if you get a portable amp you will likely notice some increase in sound. the 6xx line has great scalability with gear.

resolder to gardena

I play most of my music form the old galaxy s6 while im at work. But i also will try using them with my ps4/computer/stereo if they sound as nice as everyone says. I realize i wont need to use the DAC with my stereo.
I read some review that mentioned getting a dac if you are trying to listen from a phone but if its not needed i will skip it. I always wanted to see the difference in using one though.

what is the second best headphone behind the HD650?

Yeah these headphones were noticeably veiled when I tried them.

HD600... if it had sub-bass...

post your setup, i'm willing to bet schiit stack plus HD600 or worse

>he thinks he knows anything about electrostatics

Seconding. I'd like to know too

Reminder that th-x00 PH are the best headphones and everyone should have a pair

Prove that amps make a difference on electrostatics headphones with objective data.

First time looking into new headphones in years. I've had the AudioTechnica AD900X's for a long time, but I was an idiot and stepped on the cord and I must've ripped a wire inside. I'm contacting my local store to get an estimate on a repair, but it sounds like I'll be buying new headphones.

I've set a budget of $300 for myself, cause if my 900X's can't be fixed for ~20-40$, I'll just invest into something that actually has a detachable cord.

Are these gaming Sennheiser's considered good? They're open back (which I LOVED about the 900X). I need a mic for gaming but I heard I could just use adhesive to attach one on a headset that doesn't have one normally. Is this a decent way to do it?

Feel free to prove that amplifiers make a difference with electrostatic headphones.

These sort of claims are retard tier and are just as bad as cable making differences.

Feel free to post your setup first

>Inb4 he's never had an amp before

Now prove me wrong and post your setup :^)

>amps
>affecting quality

has /hpg/ hit a new low?

I don't know. Why don't you A/B between your amp and motherboard, if you own one?

What electrostatics does /hpg/ recommend?

None because HD600 BTFOs them all.

l700

007 is the best, sonoma model one system is good too. LNS if you want lambdas

This is interesting because my conversation with many Japanese audiophiles were that STAX wasn't worth it and they are mostly exported to China.

Most of them prefer to use Sennheiser and AKG headphones, as well as some other homegrown brands like Audio-Technica.

>This is interesting because my conversation with many Japanese audiophiles
nobody cares weeb

>LNS.
I dont think they could have designed an uglier headphone. but sound over function right?

STAX has been obsolete for years.

all lambdas look the same

and they all sound like shit too

post your setup

Seconding this. Still curious

I'll post it when you prove how electrostatic amps affect sound quality with objective data

Just A/B your amp and motherboard, my dude. Do you not own one?

this literally has nothing to do with the discussion

post your setup

Do the 7506s need an amp to sound good or can I just plug them into a regular headphone jack? Bonus question: how would plugging them into a set of speakers and then plugging the speakers into a TV with A/V cables affect sound quality, if at all?

>Do the 7506s need an amp to sound good
Depends on your setup. Let me take a look :^)

Nope, not at all. Amps literally make no difference, but I have no way of testing it out myself. No amp, no sound card, not even a motherboard or phone to A/B myself

Classic Sony. How can MA900lets even compete?

Sounds like you want even less bass and more veil. I recommend the HD600 good luck friend!
