RAR and RAR5 are probably the only formats I know of that have error recovery options. Although 7z (or tar.xz) is far superior, what prevents them from having error recovery? I'm afraid that all my documents/vidya/etc. will be susceptible to bit rot

Because I like the GUI better and it has never failed me since 1997, is still fast and convenient plus your buy this message literally requires 1 file (rarreg.key) that takes me 5 seconds to download and copy into my latest WinRAR installations folder. I usually can copy it even faster now that I keep it on my file server for future installations.
