Moved to the UK and been living in Bristol for the last month

Moved to the UK and been living in Bristol for the last month.
I don't know exactly why, but I don't like Bristol at all. I don't like it's layout (look at the google maps of Bristol City Centre for example), the suburbs are depressing as fuck, the weather is shit, lots of old buildings and old houses everywhere, which I dislike, dreary and depressing atmosphere everywhere. In short, I'm just not feeling it. Is all of the UK the same? Is there a city with a more modern feel and where the weather is a at least a little bit better?
For reference I have lived in Canada before, specifically in Vancouver and absolutely loved it. I arrived to Vancouver on winter, and then experienced summer. Winter in Vancouver feels less depressing to me that summer in Bristol. Am I crazy? Should I just leave and never come back? Before arriving to Bristol I had all these plans of going to London and Wales and Northern Ireland. Now I just imagine the same dreary depressing atmosphere everywhere in the UK and just want to leave.

just stay inside and vidya & porn 24/7

Where are you from originally?

Yes, it's like that everywhere

You get used to it

Did you at least spend some time here before moving?

not a fan of bristol but I wouldn't really describe it as you have 2bh. can't imagine anywhere doing it for you. go home jf.

I imagined it would be kind of like Canada. But it's not. It's developed like Canada but it's different.

My parents are italian and I originate from South America. You could probably say it's the lack of sun since South America is pretty much perpetual summer always, but as I said before, I have experienced winter in Canada and it felt less depressing than summer here in Bristol for some reason.

I visited bath last week, it was pretty great, you could move there it's literally right next to you

West and central Bristol are really nice imo, I only found the suburbs depressing.

But old buildings and crazy city layouts are standard for Europe, maybe it's a kind of culture shock?

Brighton? But yeah, the UK is generally depressing except for rare moments.

>Is all of the UK the same?
Yes. It's the dark brown architecture, I guess

Don't come to Scotland, it's even worse.

Could be culture shock. Canada is very organized in that aspect, same where I come from. City layout is just square blocks almost everywhere. Easy to get around. Here in Bristol it's very tiring and confusing to go around with the weird street layouts.

Cheer up you sad cunt

Maybe I'll do that. See if I like it better. I have considered Brighton as well.

Shepherds Bush

that's everywhere in the old world, you navigate by memorizing landmarks, git gud.

>old world
>not depressing as fuck

The British Island are very popular for its always rainy weather. Also at least in Movies you should have seen already what British architecture is about.

How could you be so misinformed?

Noted, thanks.

going back to Morocco when?

Yeah bristol is quite shitty, I lived in Redland for 9 months or so, which is actually a nice area relative to the rest. I couldn't handle the fact it rained all the time. Plus fucking junkies everywhere.

I've moved to London and it is a lot better.

Having said that even some shithole like Karachi or Cairo should be nicer than Canada so don't quite get why you're complaining.

Yeah but it's summer here. I thought that maybe in summer, it would be better. But it goes beyond that for me. I have even considered taking a coach to some place in Germany and starting over. Maybe it's a terrible idea. The thing is, Spain has a lovely weather but Spaniards are literally escaping the place because there are no jobs there. Same thing with my situation, basically.

I've of course considered London, of course. But just reading about how expensive and hard to manage it is, it discourages me. That's why I chose Bristol in the first place.

>back
epic brooo but isn't that also old world or is that only Europe

Better avoid northwest part of Germany then.
There it also tends to be very often rainy, not as bad as UK tho.

In the south you should find easily a job but people will all avoid and dispise you and the women are very ugly but I guess this point will be nothing special for you since you move from the UK.

>Brighton
yea you should, any of the home counties are great

Africa is Africa mayne, get your own cool nickname.

What do you do ?
By the way, ever walked through Easton there ? Wew that's a dodgy shithole

I have a Law degree and was thinking about doing a Master. Also, been eyeing some personal trainer courses.
I haven't been to Easton.

not sure why you want me to be foreign so much, a-are you into rape roleplay

People will avoid and despise me? That sounds very harsh. Why would that happen? I have the idea that Germans are very honest and fair people.

if only it was only roleplay with you people...

You can speak english in the UK.
In Germany you will need German to get along. People will either see you as a tourist or avoid and despise you if you speak english.

mate of mine is moving to bristol from rural scotland

tell me what he's in for lad

I haven't liked it at all, but it's likely that he will. From what people have said here, the weather will be an improvement from Scotland if he moves to Bristol.

I see. Well, I would be open to learning German but I don't speak a word of it at the moment, so I guess it's not a good idea to go there then.

Bristol is def somewhere you need to spend a lot of time in to love.

Ive grown up here and there is lots of things which I understand would put you off like the crackheads at night on the roads or the stupid fucking layout but I learned to like it
