My system is Win 10. One of my hobbies is downloading porn games other degenerate shit. One day about 3 weeks back I downloaded something I really should not have.
Now it was basically packed with hundreds of pieces of malware. Worst thing I ever downloaded.
System restore is no longer functional. I can't go back in time to before the incident. On day 1 of this malware download it was way worse than now... Would literally crash my machine in under 5 minutes... So I had to restart... restart... restart... a ton of times to stop that.
Flash forward to now... My machine is fully functional except for some problems.
There is 1 remaining file left of the malware named "imealby"
Google shows no results for anything by this name.
I notice that it uses a lot of my processor. I suspect that it may be some sort of bitcoin miner or something.
I have used the following methods in an attempt to delete the file:
1) Right click delete. Doesn't work... 2) Open up "unlocker" program, let that loose on it to delete it... Nope... Even the delete on restart fails. 3) Same as step 2, but "lock hunter" instead failed. 4) Command prompt going all the way to it's location trying to delete it "Access denied" 5) Going in to safe mode and trying these methods was not fruitful. 6) Using task manager can not terminate the process. 7) Resource monitor can not stop the processes as the instantly start back up again. The "suspend" option is somewhat fruitful. It suspends the process for maybe 5-10 minutes until it figures out it's suspended, terminates itself and restarts not suspended so it wants me to suspend it again... 8) I have right clicked the file, and gone in to properties, and changed it so I have full permission over it, but it acts as if I do not.
I may have tried other things...
Basically I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of short of completely formatting my hard drive yet it still will not delete! What to do when all methods of deletion fail?
Reinstall. And don't use any "repair" or "update" option while installing. Wipe drive completely with a Linux live boot before.

boot up a linux iso and delete the file from linux typical windows pleb those who control the hardware, control the machine

>My system is Win 10. Found your problem
Michael Gray
You also likely have tons of shit in your registry that you need to get rid of because if you delete the file it might come back.
Hudson Howard
You deserve all that shit you fucking idiot >download cancerous shit >use OS designed for data mining for ads >doesn't use VM When you are grown up download openSUSE and stop fagotry

Nuke it from orbit, then kill yourself, retard.
Justin Hill
Have you tried putting the file from the hard drive and on to a usb flash drive, then deleting the file from the usb flash drive
Chase Brooks
That has worked for me in the past
Brandon Brown
unable to move the file, or rename the file

install gentoo

Boot from linux live cd. Delete that one file. Now make an empty directory where the file used to be: give it the same name as the file you deleted. This prevents re-creation of the file. Shut down. Switch on, boot into windows. Done.

Use Unlocker > Unlocker failed Holy shit what? That program is golden. What processes if any is the file locked to? If it isn't, I suggest that it isn't failing to delete the file, the file is simply being replaced on boot. That means there's a stealth bit of malware, maybe a rootkit, that contains a copy of the file.

The process is described as "Windows Process Manager"
It's not an actual windows process.
it runs an exe file named "wudhzxd", 4 or 5 copies of same file it runs.

>tfw nobody in this thread knows that Windows has a recovery environment
Start, power, hold Shift and choose Restart. Troubleshooting > command line. "del" the file.

put file in a folder call folder windows.old google how to delete windows.old folders because i forgot windows removes it without an issue problem solved?
Oliver Fisher
>put file in a folder
The file can not be renamed. The file can not be moved. The file can not be deleted. The file can not even be opened... However can sort of peek inside of it with unlocker tools
Nicholas Roberts
then grab a flash drive make it a bootable loonix choose test loonix and delete the file

Calling Safe Mode a recovery environment is like calling a Moped a Semi-Truck
Leo Thomas
Bitch I'm not talking about fucking safe mode. I'm talking about the tiny recovery image Windows comes with. It doesn't boot your OS. It's the same as booting a live Linux system, except, you know, without the Linux.
