When will Firefox finally bring support for Kdialog...

When will Firefox finally bring support for Kdialog? It is the only browser where you have to suffer with the gtkmemepicker.
bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=298848

so this is the power of open source...

> RESOLVED WONTFIX
Never.

It's an upstream bug, find someone who can fix it in Gnome.
Be the change you want to see in the world.

GTK*

>he doesn't know about the patch in AUR

The Opensuse one?

You have a couple of choices. There's opensuse one or the patched gtk3 (adds an icon view).

KDE file picker is for KDE, Firefox runs not only in KDE. You are retarded.

GTK filepicker is only for gnome. Firefox runs not only in gnome. You are retarded.

Chromium uses GTK filepicker on GTK desktops and Kdialog on KDE. You are retarded.

>GTK filepicker is only for gnome
Wrong. There are many gtk based DEs, it's not only GNOME.

Firefox only supports gtk.

>Chromium uses GTK filepicker on GTK desktops and Kdialog on KDE.
Exactly. For Chromium runs not only in KDE.

It's not a matter of supporting gtk. Hence KDE is not a GUI toolkit.

Does Firefox only run on GTK desktops you fucking retard?

>windows filepicker
>opens explorer window with full capabilities (rename, delete, open with, sort, view, etc.)
Why is everything on linux so fucking awful?

No. Hence why Firefox should not hardcode KDialog into its codebase.

Windows does not have a file picker. It opens a neutered down file explorer in the same signal.

Why should firefox use GTK at all if it can be used on windows, mac and non-gtk desktops on linux?

You can still do anything you normally would with the windows file picker.

Because gtk runs on all of those platforms.

GTK is being developed with only Gnome in mind now. Windows and mac support is abysmal.
They should move to Qt if they want proper multiplat support.

And this is exactly what Firefox should also do. Not use the horrible GTK file picker if your desktop has a better one.

Just line there are several DEs bases on Qt.

Chromium supports KDialog. With all the move to refactor the UX they could abstract the file picker to use the DE's default.

Xfce for instance has a sufficient thumbnailer called tumblerd. The only reason filepicker is shit is because Firefox doesn't make use of it and instead uses gtkcancerdialopg

There's no excuse for this but that Mozilla cares more about Women@Mozilla than their Linux users.

How am I supposed to shitpost if there are no previews in file picker? Was that what you wanted? To meme people into Linux so they won't be able to post pics they want?

Works on my machine. :^)
