Have brave installed for 3 days

>have brave installed for 3 days

What the fuck? Is the web seriously this compromised?

I blocked over 11k ads over the last two days of mostly browsing Sup Forums, Reddit and HN

why does Brave use 6 seperate processes and a gig and half of ram to open one webpage?

Don't worry user, it's just some user telemetry and ETH mining, no big deal

Because it is garbage.

yeah

botnet

Botnet

...

Had it installed for a while, just dont use the browser much.

...

Because it uses the utter garbage that is AdBlockPlus instead of using uBlock Origin. It's also a botnet
>inb4 but it's foss
It still is a botnet.

Yeah. The ad-industry has its smelly old-man dick up everyone's ass.

Unfortunately, they are the only ones willing to pay for server costs. The users aren't.

Did you know? making online services cost real money. You guys killed ads and now are killing crypto-miners because dont understand internet survive because ads and miners

you must have a wirus or something

WTF i hate the internet now.

t. entitled nu-male web developer

This is what it'll look like after a few months.

Redpill me on brave
Any reason to use it over GNU/Icecat?

Unfortunately, the modern web is more useless crap than useful content.

Because it's based on Chromium, that's why.

>everything should be free free free
>calls others entitled
ummmmmmmmmmm excuse me

Brave is god-sent on mobile. I thought Opera is the fastest that can be, but it enables routing through Opera servers when enabling adblock which way too often makes things slower.

Not really, but it's by far the best browser for mobiles.

...

Is Chrome/Chromium with uBlock equivalent to Brave?

It's pretty much exactly the same thing, yes. Brave is only useful as a mobile browser, where Chromium isn't an option.

Why not just install something like blokada or dns66 and not have to deal with any ads at all, regardless of what app you're using?

Ads are one thing, the disgusting pop up tab opening bullshit is where I block.

How does it compare to Firefox Klar on Fdroid?

It's Firefox Focus with user tracking removed (!!)

Because VPN based blocking isn't reliable and doesn't improve speed at all.

from a browser i use to do swagbucks with certain specific ad filters to help prevent soft bans while filtering most of the shit.
