Case insensitivity is a perfectly reasonable decision for a file system.
Since a case sensitive file system is a terrible idea, most people only have experience with a case insensitive one.
Why is it a terrible idea? Case insensitivity in file systems does nothing but add confusion.
If anything it's the other way around
