wtf, Karl der Große was German

>not casimir 3 the great
to the bin you go

Fuck off, he was Frankish.

Which includes Belgium the Netherlands, germany and a teensy bit of france.

>teensy bit of france
like all of france. and places in spain, too

as a Franconian, I am a direct descendant of Karl dem Großen

No doubt

>as a Franconian
LOL
no you're probably just the descendent of charles' cow shit cleaner

We are talking about the frankish core lands here.

Is right in that regard.

If I wanted to be a dick we could just exclude france as later conquered as was the rest of germany and therefore unelligible for being frankish.

>the frankish core lands
no, we're talking about the carolignian empire. which is why the dutch guy put him. netherlands were never a "frankish core land".

...

are you aware that Brazil is the rightful hair of the historical Portugal Empire and the current portugal is just a rebellious province?

>you're probably just the descendent of charles' cow shit cleaner
considering how long ago they lived, it is most likely that he is descendant of both tbqh

>hair
lol
also you're wrong but that doesn't really matter since i actually don't mind being a rebellious province :)

It is true though.
As Napoleon conquered Portugal, the Portugese monarch fled to Brazil, from where he continued ruling the Portugese Empire.
"Portugal" is basically just a French puppet state

...

Huhom.

and then the portuguese monarch came back and order was restored.
nice job bruh thanks for teaching me stuff i already know.

Paavo "Rightful King of Italy" Lipponen

...

i didn't know it started there. sorry i guess. that's pretty cool.
that cross shape though. DEUS VULT

post the least bad leader you ever had

...

:>>

...

Current rulers now are pretty based

...

Just post one of your muh aztec kings

Ståhlberg was pretty damn based, seconded by Mannerheim

>Ståhlberg
>Mannerheim
Nice finnish names, cryptosven

This guy right here I think

It wasn't until the 50's that we started having finnish named leaders and that's when things started to go wrong
Pic related is our current president Niinistö

...

Are Finns inherently autistic?

Really makes you think

Translation: "Fuck you were supposed to hustle some prime bud but this is some fucking krokodil, fucking hell"

The two guys in the background look like perfect statue models

Chapper lads

He's liberated Vietnam and give hope to the people, made huge improvement to the country and best of all the government he has left behind tend to itself quite well unlike some others socialist countries, plus internet

The King of Portugal returned to Portugal, when "the people" (Portuguese noblemen) ordered him to return.
He left his son in Brazil.
As the Portuguese families in power didn't want to make Brazil an equal to Portugal, a non Colonie with all rights as a every Portuguese province.
The Prince decided to get crowned as Kaiser of Brazil and declared it's own atlantic wide empire.

He was best pal of Gustavus, ruled successfully when he was on the battlefield and after his death.

it's pretty comfy if you have a guy liberating your country so you don't have to put your own live at risk.

How is life in Vietnam nowadays? I know some people who came here as boat refugees during the war and they sometimes visit there, but they don't really want to talk about it, guessing they lost their families etc.
Ho was pretty cool, he was also used as the model for DDR childrens show Sandmännchen, which was aired in Finland

Also, have some swinging socialist music from the 60's: youtube.com/watch?v=GjOGvuVFGnE

I liked his leading from the front approach.
But I would have prefered to see him win the war completely.
Why couldn't he kill the Austrians right a way?

...

Is he the guy who unilaterally declared war on Mexico to rob their land?

Life in Vietnam is pretty okay for city dwellers and even for some folks in the countryside, things are getting developed pretty well but there's still some troubles in Vietnam, and the boat refugees are the people of the South Vietnam pre 1975 who has fled the country when the North enter, some lost their family, some knew the North would won so they left early, either way the Northern government let them go instead of killing them thanks to his teaching.

It was a big, long and complicated war. You can't really win it just like that, especially considering the protestants were in a harder position.

he doesn't fully seem to understand how flags work

only to later get expelled later in life. pedro then came back to portugal, fought a war with his own brother and became king of portugal.
yup the first emperor of brazil was expelled from his own country which he gave independence, and then became king of portugal.
a truly fucked up time. most fucked up king we ever had. fuck that guy.

MWAHAHAHAHA!

...

Well atleast he killed the kikes and not sucked their cut off dicks like Lenin.

No, that would be Polk, not Jackson.

t.Juan Pedro San Miguel Garcia Deleon

Don't send your army into Texas next time, friendo. In America, we call that invasion. Also, Polk was president during that war.

Pic related is my choice, the last of the Jeffersonian patriots.

>Don't send your army into Texas
It was Polk that send his army here, faggot.

>The presence of United States troops on the edge of the disputed territory farthest from the Mexican settlements, was not sufficient to provoke hostilities. We were sent to provoke a fight. It was very doubtful whether Congress would declare war; but if Mexico should attack our troops, the Executive could announce, "Whereas, war exists by the acts of, etc.," and prosecute the contest with vigor. Once initiated there were but few public men who would have the courage to oppose it"

- Ulysses S. Grant

That disputed territory was core Texan land, recognized internationally, for nearly a decade. As a matter of fact, Mexico didn't technically consider that the boundary of Texas, since they didn't recognize Texan sovereignty at all. If you think the Mexican invasion was anything else than your despots trying to pull a fast one on the unitedstatsians, a war weary populace, a populace not altogether comfortable accepting a large and rich slave state into their union, than you're only deluding yourself.

As if I needed more proof that Grant was a bitch.

>That disputed territory was core Texan land, blah, blah
>The presence of United States troops on the edge of the disputed territory farthest from the Mexican settlements, was not sufficient to provoke hostilities.
It was Polk that send his army here, faggot.

To meet the Mexican army that had also been sent there. Did you forget how all this started?

It wasn't until your troops crossed the edge of the disputed territory that they got attacked. They crossed, c r o s s e d, because their plan of just being there was not working. Then you played full dindu and said "hey, the attacked first, we dindu nuffin".

>Some, if not all, of the gentlemen on the other side of the House, who have addressed the committee within the last two days, have spoken rather complainingly, if I have rightly understood them, of the vote given a week or ten days ago, declaring that the war with Mexico was unnecessarily and unconstitutionally commenced by the President.

- Abraham Lincoln

ignore flag

oops forgot pic

>Mexican troops enter Texas, declare Rio Grande region "disputed territory"
>American troops approach region, Mexicans remain
>American troops enter American territory, are attacked by Mexican army

>F...fucking dindus...you stole my land!

Stop posting.

He was georgian though, I prefer peter the Great even Ivan the terrible.

Those guys knew what they were doing.

His idea of turkey is kill though, he was to idealistic and it only worked as long as he was there to keep people in line apparently.

Him being seen as a hero allwoed him to do what he did.

>searching leaders from ages long past
patchetic

Ivan the terrible killed his heir after beating his pregnant wife and put a literal retard on the Muscovite throne. Is that "knowing what they're doing" for Russians?

Does Johannes Paul II count?

Also, what did you think about Palpatine?

Louis IX

It's called Rio Bravo. You are talking about nueces river.

>In the murder of Mexicans upon their own soil, or in robbing them of their country, I can take no part either now or hereafter. The guilt of these crimes must rest on others. I will not participate in them.

- Joshua Giddings

>This war is nondescript.... We charge the President with usurping the war-making power ... with seizing a country ... which had been for centuries, and was then in the possession of the Mexicans.... Let us put a check upon this lust of dominion. We had territory enough, Heaven knew.

- Robert Toombs

Sixty men signed the Texas Declaration of Independence. Three of them were born in Mexico. Fifty-seven of the sixty moved to Texas from the United States. Ten of them had lived in Texas for more than six years, while one-quarter of them had been in the province for less than a year. This is significant, because it indicates that the majority of signatories had moved to Texas after the Law of April 6, 1830, banning immigration, had taken effect, meaning that the majority were legally citizens of the United States, occupying Texas illegally.

He fucked all his enemies harder than his own people though, but I put Ivan there because of the similarities to Stalin.

Secret police and treatment of their family.

best men that this fucked up land could raise

>teensy bit of France
People north of the Loire (except Brittany) are descendants of the Franks, it isnt a small part.

What does any of that have to do with the Mexican American war? I refer again to the timeline of events.

I get, you dindu nuffin.

The general rgument of french-men is that they are more frankish because they were conquered earlier by them in comparison to the saxons.

I just like to hold against that that the Frank's original territories weren't really in modern day France.

I have no problem at all seeing Karl as both our nation's father.

We share so much but apparently spent so lot of our history to deny that due to rivalry.

Trou du cul

He only ruled for 4 years, is he really regarded as the best king the Netherlands ever had ?

Too awesome to hear you.

father of Germans is Louis the German, not Charlemagne

Rude

...

Hannibal if he had a little more luck we would fuck the rome empire

The best fucking statesman of the 20th century.

WE

is this again about germany being a young state?

Not by most, but i unironically think he was the best king we ever had. He cared about the Dutch people and it's interests, renounced French citizenship and refused to hear French at his court, forced his ministers to talk Dutch to him and always spoke Dutch to his subjects. Was personally there during two major disasters and is generally thought of by people who lived under him as a great guy and a good king. His brother took over because he no longer served him and France but rather The Netherlands and it's people. When he returned for a visit in 1840s he went under a different name but was recognized quickly and a crowd gathered at his hotel cheering for him. He was said to be deeply touched by the affection showed by the Dutch people.

>disappears mid-war
>GREATEST HERO
he's literally just a side-note curiosity on the larger history book

Huh, kinda like Bernadotte except he didnt betray us.

>america rebels from britain
>"INDEPENDENCE AND LIBERTY MOTHERFUCKER"
>texas rebels from mexico
>"POOR TEXAS WE MUST GO TO THEIR AID"
>confederacy rebels from usa
>"UH NO LOL WE WANT MORE POWER YOU CAN'T LEAVE LADS"

howling

it's almost like america was founded precisely on materialism and opportunism

he wasn't a muslim you know?

...

...

This is not what I said.

There is no such thing as germans, but germanics. Northern German isn't the same as Southern one, different tribe - same language.
