Truecrypt isn't secure, the dev actually said it themself.

Veracrypt is a better alternative if you are on Windows, GNU/Linux use LUKS

why not bitlocker?

It obviously has a backdoor

You use encryption to protect yourself from Jamal, not three letter agencies.

VeraCrypt is love, VeraCrypt is life

7.1a is still fine

truecrypt drive took 4 years to decrypt. meaning, its decryptable

Using a dictionary attack doesn't count against the implementation though. If you have a metal door that no one can break down, what good is it if you don't lock it properly?

No, you should use LUKS. Veracrypt is the worst case scenario follow by TrueCrypt in don't do it scenario.

>TrueCrypt
>open source
you're basically asking if open-source safe

>not three letter agencies
Actually you do, just don't fuck it up by implementing it wrongly.

Ive been using veracrypt to mount my old truecrypy container

>police unable to decrypt drives
>still goes to jail

WTF?

Veracrypt. I remember reading the audit pages about trucrypt vs veracrypt a while ago. Veracrypt showed no holes or back doors, and the veracrypt team increased the security when creating encrypted containers or partitions.

>As an example, when the system partition is encrypted, TrueCrypt uses PBKDF2-RIPEMD160 with 1000 iterations whereas in VeraCrypt we use 327661. And for standard containers and other partitions, TrueCrypt uses at most 2000 iterations but VeraCrypt uses 655331 for RIPEMD160 and 500000 iterations for SHA-2 and Whirlpool.

Pulled from the veracrypt page. U haven't had an issue and it flawlessly opens trucrypt containers from years ago.

>Verameme shilled 24/7 on Sup Forums
>nobody mentions CypherShed

I wonder (((who))) is behind this.

CuckShed

Yes, goy. Good goy.

This is a nice article too:

There are occasions in which you'll go to jail for less time than the jailtime it would take to reveal the encrypted content.

>pornographic pictures of underage girls posted to YouTube

why has no one told me of this before? time to make a youtube crawler.

>being a dirty pedo
The day of the rope is nigh.

Epic!

Fuck you, Sup Forums.

But Sup Forums support straight Aryans pedos

>2017
>guise, truecrypt is dead!
Under which rock have you've been living?

False. It's falseflagging to discredit and turn you away.

This is true, but Vlad and Pietyr also have access to the same backdoors that those Three Letter Agencies have, but Vlad isn't a vetted agent, he's a Russian cyber-criminal and now he has all of your personal information.

>caring about people having your data on enemy countries
Not a problem, they aren't going to van you.

But and that chart about younger woman get lesser kids syndrome down so is better to white race support the pedophile?

>what is extortion
>what is automated extortion with low enough demands that it isn't widely investigated, but high enough that a mobster can make off with millions
hurr?
Exploits are dime a dozen.

Pretty sure women from 18 to 25 have no downies.
Are you implying you must either fuck old women or you fuck kids?

See pic.

how do these encryption things work as a layman with no experience? Do you basically make a password that is required to access your files after they are protected? Is it advised to put this password in a password manager or should you memorize it?

>extortion
>oh noes i must gib them mirrion dorrar or theyll release my turbotranny doujins

lol

>Pretty sure women from 18 to 25 have no downies.
Fake news.
>Are you implying you must either fuck old women or you fuck kids?
No, but Sup Forums support had strong support to have sex/rape with girls with less than 16.

>simple windows account password to unlock your computer.
its like how a door has a lock, but if you can break down the door you will have access to everything in the house.

>encryption
its like, you have a key that shifts everything in the house to be completely unrecognizable junk, and it can only be reconstructed with the key. even if someone has access to the house, without the key its useless junk.

>source: my arse
Sure thing shlomo.

>my ass
Fix: your ass.
Just browser in Sup Forums around to world to see.

I want to know how a remote, foreign actor is going to get access to any of your cold hard drives, such that your method of at-rest encryption would matter at all.

Unless you're doing some extremely retarded shit with your network it isn't going to happen.

veracrypt does what it needs to.

I still use 7.1a, it's just to store my chinese cartoons and milf / futa / shota doujins anyways. It's less about being scared of CIA and more about not letting anyone ever find out I fap to chubby milfs with large cocks.

Is there something similar for tablets?

android & ipad have built-in encryption features. should be good enough for most people.

I am talking about a container that i can transfer itself without having to decrypt it and move the files

>It's less about being scared of CIA and more about not letting anyone ever find out I fap to chubby milfs with large cocks.

There's nothing to be ashamed of sucking you're mom's dick.

gonna need the sauce, boss
