Try and remain unbiased, I don't like Apple as much as the next guy.
Does the Apple watch hold any place at all in the tech world, to me it seems like a solution in search of a problem, I can't think of anything it would do that just having a phone wouldn't solve.
And, what about competitors? I haven't done much research on features but it seems there are many other options that are much, much cheaper.

The Apple watch
>Does the Apple watch hold any place at all in the tech world
yes
collecting dust in a desk drawer
Tried the Apple watch. Couldn't stand having to charge yet another battery, sometimes more than once a day. Then got a Pebble. A lot better, but I didn't need constant notifications. And I had to charge it every three days. Then I got pic related. Best decision ever. I also got a Moto Z Play instead of an iPhone 6 Plus. Stopped worrying about battery.
Pebble watches are honestly the only functional smart watches available. Also now they're dirt cheap since pebble filed for bankruptcy. Said tho that we won't get any more bomb ass offerings and now we're stuck with shitbit

Pick one.
The hybrid watches are way better, way longer battery life and gives you most of what that does. Also has some better benefits like can do sleep pattern tracking cause you don't have to charge while sleeping.
Android wear is better, plus you can install your freedumbs opensource os on it
I have to sell this garbage.
Is it worth the price? Convenience makes a price out of anything.
Is it really convenient? Do you ever have a time when you cannot pull out your phone?
What would I use it for? Texting, and music when you got bluetooth earbuds in. Anything else is a lie.
Should I get the one that lets me make calls from it and use it without a phone? Does your job restrict your phone from being on you? If not, then do you like to go for jogs and want to not carry your phone?
Waste of money for a majority of all humans.
Apple Watch has more features/hardware than competitors, but in general, all you really get is notifications. Apple Watch UX kinda sucks but again, all you need are notifications.
So far, I have used mine to:
Tell the time
Receive notifications
Select music without taking out my phone.
Set timers
Track gym activity.
Check my grocery list.
Secretly start recording a conversation
Pull up a calendar.
I got it for free though (and it made me buy a secondhand 5S to use it) and I'd rather have an Android watch.
You just wanted an excuse to take a picture of those legs.
Status symbol: the watch
I don't think it is good in terms of a notification machine.
I don't think it is good in terms of a watch.
I don't think it is good in terms of a fashion statement.
If you take the same amount of money and go to a jewelry store, you can find a much nicer watch.
>but the watch can make phone calls now
You are not gonna use that.
It is a gimmick and you will look bad.
I have seen a lot of hipsters who wear these without charging them and it is stupid.
If you don't know what to spend money on, then get a nicer set of clothes and a nice watch.
It will improve your life way more than this failure.
I think for a watch it's ugly. That's why I'm not getting one. No matter if it's useful or not. If the aesthetics of a watch are that shitty I'm not getting it.
I think so, but I'm going to seem massively biased here.
I have a few medical conditions. One of these is a heart problem and I need to monitor it regularly.
I've used maybe 20+ fitness trackers/heartrate monitors over the last few years and each and every one of them is flawed. From things like water resistance, charging, proprietary charging ports, requiring an uncomfortable peripheral to monitor HR or just simply going ded after a month or two. They are fragile as all hell.
In comes the big bad apple hater and tries one. I can use whatever band I want to. I can get one with an aluminium case with no nickel allergy problems. Then it comes to the HR sensor, which is accurate, can be used in different apps and also feed you just the raw data. On top of that you get a "smart watch" to control your music when it's in your pocket/bag.
Does it have any space in the tech world? Maybe not in the smartwatch scene when other manufacturers step the fuck up. It certainly does in the fitness tracker/HR monitor world.
I fucking hate apple still, the thing has shitty battery life if you use the HR sensor constantly and you need to turn off siri etc but it does one thing for me very right. That's worth more to me than some pajeet posting on a thai stop motion forum being unsatisfied with the watch.
I also retired my solid collection of casio watches.
That's a nice watch, user. I've got the bin laden one.. this would be a good addition
I had the first moto watch when it came out thought it was pretty neat. Main features other than the custom watch face which made it good was music control and an alert when you are out of range of your phone other than that nothing really made it stand out not sure if the applel watch is better or not. The only reason I got it was because I was gonna buy a £200 fossil watch but then thought it seemed too much money for something which only tells the time
>there are people who think like this
>these are the people who are still buying Motorola products
what model is it? is it sapphire glass?
I don't think so, it was like 10 euros. The model is MQ-24, there are several variations. I only miss having the day of the month.
