>Vertical selection? You mean ctrl v in vim? Seriously?
ctrl + v is not paste.
What a joke this program.
Christopher Myers
wow, everyone look! It's an OP, in its natural habitat. You can see, by the number of dicks in its mouth, that this OP can't stop shitposting.

Pasting in vim is p. Do you know what vim is even capable of? You clearly don't, so don't try to talk like you know about it
Adam Green
>Pasting in vim is p. Do you know what vim is even capable of? You clearly don't, so don't try to talk like you know about it
Do you mean a text editor without mouse support?
No thank you. I already had to use the TSO (IBM mainframe shit) to edit some files. What a fucking nightmare.
Asher Diaz
>some arbitrary keymap that I got used to is different in vim REEEEEEEEE lol kys fgt
Jacob Bell
>winfag gayming kiddie has a mental breakdown using TSO HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Winfags are the dumbest fucking users on this board I swear. Dumber than macfags.
Carson Baker

Jose Long
>>some arbitrary keymap that I got used to is different in vim REEEEEEEEE >lol kys fgt except 99% of the existing programs use CTRL+C
It is like not binding CTRL+S to save.
Evan Clark
Ubuntu does have Notepad++, it runs perfectly under WINE.
Jackson Barnes
Have you tried Visual Studio Code?
Joseph Morgan
99% of existing programs aren't modal like (n)vi(m). You're bitching about different tools when it's your inability to accept that they're handled differently
Anthony Adams
>Have you tried Visual Studio Code? Background is dark, it gives me headache. I need something like notepad++ with white background.
Nathan Ross
Notepad++ is the best text editor ever.
Aaron Garcia
In all seriousness >What the actual fuck is gedit

Please keep it up. You are putting on quite a show. What a great exemplar of the windows user base.
Robert Cooper
The Konqi shill wins again! In Kate it's Ctrl+Shift+B
Joshua Price
Fellow N++ user here, thanks for the alt click drag tip!
Also it seems N++ works fine in Wine.
Luke Gray
why don't you just change color scheme? also, these features are easily adjusted... like ''phhh'

>he doesn't know about notepadqq It's literally a Notepad++ clone for Linux
Chase Carter
vim has mouse support tho
Mason Rodriguez
>TSO you mean ISPF? the ISPF text editor is awesome shame I can't use it on Windows
kate. Ctrl+shift+b toggles block mode. Vim Ctrl+shift+V goes into block mode but you need plugins to make this anywhere as good as kate.
Connor Cook
It is actually much worse. When you paste something in vim, it executes each char as if it was a command. Good thing there are so many ways to get vim to insert text, it usually only crop the first few letters.
Elijah Edwards
>kate. Just installed Kate. Much better than gedit. Thx user.

np. In general, KDE makes a lot of great tools, it is worth checking out their solutions if you don't like the defaults in unity/gnome
