Holy shit, what happened this month?

do you even have to ask? even normies are getting tired of windows 10, it's a disaster.

Valve targeted Win 7 machines for the survey because Gabe has had an agenda against MS for years now.

>t. Micropajeet shill

China

I'm about ready to go back to 7 here. My mechanical drive speeds hit the floor after the 17025 update (~750kB read / ~127MB write).

>it's a disaster
Sweaty

It's just the large number of 3rd worlders who are continuing to join the global village, if you look at what countries make up Windows users on Steam you'll see they're mostly pajeets/chinks

>what happened this month?
there's been a huge influx of chinese users lately for some reason

I'm about to go back to 7 anyway, 10 crashes like crazy, I can't use explorer, I can't right click the desktop without it crashing, I can't open start.

How Miscroshit fucked this up so bad I don't know

I don't know how you guys end up with these problems. Windows 10 works great for me, my only complaint is that it doesn't update automatically if I leave my laptop plugged in but off for a few days.

>he uses windows 10
>on a laptop
>unironically
Some people...

Same here but I'm using LTSB so i only get security updates, maybe some new """"feature"""" broke something, i don't know. It works fine on both of my laptops.

>steam stats for gaymurs

>bought a nice off-lease business workstation with an i7-4770
>dreading having to set up everything again
>get home
>the HTPC has been automatically updated to windows 10
>well, it's still working at least
>havent even started yet and already going over in head having to reinstall xbmc/kodi for movies/tv and all the games for my lil sis
>just do a quick direct transplant of the data drives
>power on to make sure it works
>expected blue screen but got "getting devices ready"
>come back and screen is still going
>decide to let it keep going
>a minute later it boots to desktop and everything is exactly as it was before
>all programs, games, settings, even partition letters are as they should be
>no reinstall needed
>whole hardware migration "ordeal" took 5 minutes total
>everything went better than expected
>apparently this was a change microsoft made in W8 with how windows boots and detects hardware

Also, USB 3.0 never worked on 7 no matter what drivers I installed, but now it works perfectly and I get 400MBps+ on my portable SSD.

tl;dr Works on my machine.

>wincucks

Why don't people realize 8.1 is better than 7 and 10? It's the best of both worlds.

>lincucks

>maccucks

>for some reason
there's a game that randomly gives items when you play it, the items can be sold on the steam marketplace

>and all the botnet of 10, just incognito
no thanks

FCU happened.

>laptop
Well, I use a big-boy computer with a lot of components. That might be the difference.

>my only complaint is that it doesn't update automatically if I leave my laptop plugged in but off for a few days
How the fuck do you think a computer could possibly update itself when off?

It's probably just Steam being shit and counting Win10 1709 as Windows 7.

Windows 10 was also dropping pretty bad last month. I was expecting this.

General rule of thumb: The longer the post, the less truth does it contain.

older people actually dusted off their older installs and booted their windows 7 installs for the first time in months

How do i dual boot 7 after i already installed the 10 botnet? (before asking, i had to since i got ryzen)

>mfw can't use win7 on my laptop because skylake processor and generally no drivers

Shit lags like fuck in games

i've moded drivers for kabylake serial io just fine

Asus touchpad driver is a nightmare to deal with and nvidya has no support either, screen tearing out the ass.

Why are you calling me sweaty? I haven't even eexxoorrcciisseedd

I dumped 10 and downgraded to 7 today after a years worth of Win10 usage. Suffice to say, its much more workable environment.

Shills probably ran short on cash.

More chinese users are starting to own decent enough gaming PCs, too, after video games by and large are no longer banned since 2015 (I imagine if you're Chinese, you wait a year or two before buying gaming devices just to see if the government changes its stance when they realize PC gaming has porn and oh so political war simulations and strategy games - it speaks for the increased sanity of the current Chinese government that they didn't revert).

Sound a problem with the new version of Windows 10 afterthe Fall creator update.
Windows 7 actually declined from last month

(cont'd)
In 2000, they might literally have treated you as an enemy of state for playing something as corrupting and dangerous as Hyperdimension Neptunia. You might understand why all the Chinese that are definitely equally interested in gaming didn't personally run out and buy gaming PCs right in 2015, but are only deciding to do it now. Plus of course the actual hardware distribution and stuff also had to happen.

Not for the most part, I think. Sure, most that you saw in like WoW in the past were gold farmers, but I think the big influx of Chinese now people that just want to play games recreationally.

you might as well go back there.

>Windows 10 is not

That doesn't take into account the fall update which fucked up a lot of stuff. Gaymers in particular don't like it when their shit breaks for no reason. I'll bet a lot of them switched back to 7 throughout october.

try to do a search about windows 10
There isn't a single thread bout it. Lurk more

or Steam doesn't take account of the new version of windows 10 which make sense.

>Gaymers in particular don't like it when their shit breaks for no reason.
Nobody does except for the autistic linuxfags

there have been a lot of threads about it.
What do you constitute linux shilling?

chinks downloading Steam to play pubg

Nothing but more shrills represented on the survey. Everyone uses win 10 and if u don't ur a poor fag who doesn't use melted aluminum foil as liquid metal for subvert the botnet.

>China

...

not a chink but i just abandoned windows for linux this month too.
really retarded as fuck shit you're saying. china is cutting edge with all forms of technology way more than the west. they purchase shit everywhere directly with their phone.

chinese have been playing games forever moron. what the fuck kind of shit is going through your brain.

This just proves that Steam survey is crazy inaccurate because it's random, opt-in and only has a limited user base to begin with.

...

As an American, I wish you and your people well, user, and I hope you into democracy someday and get back together with Taiwan.

I used 10 for quite a while, after 8.1.

Just recently I switched to 7 because honestly 10 is getting kinda shitty. Them updates aren't doing favors. 7 was and still is stable as it gets, 8.1 too but I'd rather deal with 7 now.

I think things would be better if many people switched back. It would eventually force Windows to adapt to the customers rather than the opposite thing which is what they've been doing for all these years.

Hell 8.1 was a vast improvement over 8 and I think one of the reasons was the low acceptance. Many people are displeased with 10, but they still switch to it, so Microsoft doesn't have to do a goddamn thing. But MS now is not exactly doing anything to force people to switch. They're trying to provide things that are really trivial, like Cortana which many folks I know don't even use at all or want to disable completely but can't, DX12 which works for like 3 games no one gives a shit about and linux support which... many people had no trouble with using a virtual machine to use distros in the first place.

I am certainly not convinced there's any need nowadays for most people to use Windows 10 at all. I see no benefits with newer games either.

>>STILL less popular than 7
Because poor shitholes are still using XP and 7, switch it to any western market and you'll see 10 blowing the fuck out of 7

too bad. My laptop come with preinstalled win 10.
Also, daily reminder that there is no WSL on win 7

>relying on Sup Forums for anything

>fire dedicated testing team
>leave testing to amateurs who don't run them in proper environments

Yeah. Who could've seen this coming?

Ryzen works just fine on 7.

Is it rising or risen amirite tss *snort*

>2X%
What happened ? China wasn't receiving surveys and is now magically part of it ?

Not if you want to get up and running fast..

D'aww, wuzza matter, you can't get up and running fast enough buddy? :333333

PUBG is getting banned in China.

im sure that manufacturers will start making drivers for w7 again if most of their customers use it. would be retarded to not do that

No faggot,i dont always have ps2 peripherals laying around and i need to install an OS fast to test hardware

Aww! WHO NEEDS TO INSTALL AN OS FASS?
YOU DO!
YESUDO!!!!! :333!
Why is Ryzen corollary with slow installations, you adorable little hardware tester?

Fucking mong. Ryzen and skymeme aren't supported out of the box on W7 and you need usb drivers...

this is a masterpiece of a post

Your puberty is clearly showing
Yes i need to test shit fast since it's a new platform and i already rma'd my cpu since it was acting funky
You need at least 2 hours of preparing for the installation on ryzen, depending on what drivers you want to "inject" in your ISO
You obviously have to idea about the subject so stop bothering acting like a faggot for replies.

>Windows in the future will dictate when you get your water asshole.

Wow, yes, my puberty is obvious, wanna suck it? ;3
So these are difficulties arising from using an OS too outdated for the hardware. Should this even be a thing to suffer? It's like complaining about how hard it is to use Win95 on 2005 hardware. Just upgrayde, whether to 10 or Linux. Jesus.

That's what i was talking about you dumb fucking shit, ryzen has minor issues on linux and w7. I already got w10 installed as a fallback OS
And the OS is not too outdated, amd simply don't want to offer any support for it, they want to push w10 and that's why the installation sucks
Stop replying with your manchild-tier posts if you got no concrete answer

AMD doesn't support Linux?
I thought it was their last bastion of major support.

Amd does support Linux, there's just that segfault issue for CPUs made before week 25
I was talking about not supporting w7 at all, even more than that, if you install w7 with a ryzen processor I'm pretty sure the os will tell you that the CPU is not supported and force you to upgrade and shit, though there's supposedly a fix for that

>amd simply don't want to offer any support for it, they want to push w10 and that's why the installation sucks
You mean Microsoft doesn't want to offer any support for it. They're doing everything they legally can(and some things that probably aren't) to force everyone to downgrade to windows 10.

progress for progress' sake is a fucking fallacy; when we have an actual retail version of Windows 10 that puts the user first instead of Microsoft's reputation, then people come flooding in in DROVES.

This is exactly what happened with Windows 7's adoption rate in '3rd worlders': people loved that it was painless for everyday use and always did exactly what they wanted, even for the layman.

>even for the layman.

China

8, 8.1 and 10 have a huge bug in the GPU stack concerning VRAM allocation for DX9 applications. It limits it to like 4064mb artificially, when 7 doesn't have this, causing hilarious problems with games like Skyrim whose vram allocation is 5x higher on 7 than 10 with two 1080.

Apparently it was fixed in FCU. Shame they fucked up everything else.

afaik, windows 10 fucked up an update and now gaming stutters, and most normies don't use ltsb, there you go.

win7 has its own issues with dual gpus and vram memory leaks/performance going to shit too

On Windows 10.
I have seen no stuttering.

I'm on 7 so idk, I heard it here in Sup Forums

idk about other people but the new windows 10 update has been giving me blue screens routinely

Sounds reliable.
I'm on 10 on a 6-year-old machine. No blue screens. No problems aside from forced updates because 10.
Build 'em good and they'll treat you good, kids.

>I heard it here so it must be true
??
