LATIN AMERICAN

How could it have been if Spaniards killed the natives instead of fucking with them?
How these countries would be today?

Look at Argentina, Cuba and Uruguay.

(wow)

Spain didn't actually have much population to begin with. Even if they had enough population, naval technology in the 1500s wouldn't have allowed enough people to arrive save to the new world.

There would be a lot less people, unless other countries like France or England decide to colonize more.

The same, shiny gold made them lazy and stupid, natives are not a problem (atleast in here)

>Argentina

Nice meme, friendo. They're 30% Amerindian on average. Dunno about the rest: journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0034695

so, still third world?

Rude

Only Argentina and Uruguay, Cuba is a commie dictatorship so something like 5th world.

Mi pregunta eres descendiente de españoles? Si es si es entendible pero no crees que ofendes a la propia gente de tu país que no son?

we'd have afro niggers instead of abo niggers

America was not uniformly populated. The countries with high population densities( Peru, south Mexico, Guatemala, Bolivia) retained plenty of indians. The ones sparsely populated (Argentina, northern Mexico) are now inhabited by people of european stock.

In addition, most of the indians died of diseases.

This thread has the 3 dumbest autistic posters in the same thread all what we need now it's the colombian monkey

We could have been 2st world at least.

This land was blessed with plenty of natural resources, to levels that most only can dream of, but at the same time it was cursed with the people who was placed on it.

>This land was blessed with plenty of natural resources

Not really, just some countries.

Yes, I know.

I was talking specifically about Colombia and Colombians.

(Both Colombia and Venezuela are rich in resources, but you know how the story ended)

Sorry If my comment was not clear enough.

this is true

people, even Argentines, overrate our natural resources.

2 thirds of Argentina are an arid steppe, we have less iron and coal than most countries medium size countries, and have to import gas from Bolivia and the Arab States.

Also, every province on the Andes is happy having its population working for the state as useless parasites, supported by money from Buenos Aires and the agricultural region, and oppose mining because muh ecology, when Chile exports dozens of billions of dollars of minerals every year.

We would have 25% of unemployment.

We have 0 mineral wealth and no coal, oil, gas, etc and the argie wet pampas are more fertile than ours that are a bit more arid and with more hilly terrain.

Argentina is rich in resources.

Yeah, and that's the region we stole from bolivia, the southern countries are fairly poor in resources, at least compared with the tropical ones.

>Argentina is rich in resources.
no

...

here they say "if we allow mining they will pollute our water" when the most important mining region of Chile is on the driest desert of eart, and the people of Iquique dont drink poisoned water as far as I know.

They just prefer a simple easy life working for the state as a useless parasite, instead of having mining companies next to them.
Cant blame them.

most of the wealth and taxes in Argentina come from the provinces similar to Uruguay, Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Cordoba, Entre Ríos.
Tierra del Fuego alones makes us lose billions of dollars every year, places like Chaco or Formosa depend 100% from money of other provinces. No recaudan nada en absoluto.

Well, how are pure spaniards doing right now?
There you have it.

No Latin American country would exist in any recognizable way, even Argentina got started as a mestizo nation and native American culture was instrumental in the development of the Gaucho. This alternate world has different borders, different name places and extremely different cultures. Also, because there would have been no native labor, it's likely Latin America would have received significant imports of African slaves, on the order that Brasil and the US received... Finally, the rise of the United States as a world power was largely made posible because of Mexico's defeat at the Mexican-American war which allowed them to rise as undisputed power on the region and even set up the Monroe doctrine, if Spanish North America however had been able to stand as a rival power, which for much of the late 19th century was a hope of continental powers such as france and Germany, the history of the American continent and the world would have been vastly different, the world wars could have extended to a balkanized North America or even be fought mostly there as proxy wars to European powers. The Jaopanese, russians or even Ottomans, amongst others may have colonized Latin America without the early resources the rem, ains of the Aztec empire lend to New Spain as agricultural output, labor to mine for silver, roads, irrigation, construction, etc. The scenario could have been vastly different if the Spaniards had been forced to start from scratch like the British. There's no real basis on which to claim it would even be a better world on either side of the Atlantic...
